Some say Revelation 12:14, of the wings of an eagle to protect Israel, some suggest Revelation 18 speaking of a future type of Babylon might be the U.S. others claim Daniel 7:4 speaking about one nation depicted as a lion with wings on it but being plucked off. (Lion=Great Britain/Wings plucked off America which came out of Great Britain but became independent) Still others suggest those who dwell securely in the isles in Ezekiel 39 all could be referring to America.

So much stretching will hurt a person's back.

I'd point out that the symbol of Imperial Rome was an eagle, as was the symbol of Nazi Germany. Also England. And there isn't anything to do more than "suggest" that any of those references is to a national symbol.

Those aren't verses saying "America."

What about the eagle in Revelation 8:13? Is that talking about America?

How about the eagles in Jeremiah 48 and 49?

Ezekiel 17:3?

Sorry, I never meant to imply that you called anyone dumb. I was just saying that this is the "go to" as the first reaction when someone hears that somebody believes that the earth is flat.

Yep, especially when our sources are the government, the military and NASA. All of which keep secrets, and present information that may not be true but what they think will accomplish their agenda.

I do not blame the teachers, they have their curriculum laid out for them and teach what they are taught and told to teach. Even if it is not true.

It should be realized that "Flat Earthers" are an extreme fringe of the right-winger that seeks to discount all scientific knowledge as a product of liberal, one-world, "deep state" agencies.

They must dispose of everything now known to be truth in order to substitute their own "truth," which is what will be whatever is spoken by their leader and only that spoken by their leader.

In political science, this is called "irrationalism," which means that a person abandons his own critical thought to accept the thought of another.

Of course, the salient problem with being a flat earther is that one must not only abandon truth as uttered by current authorities, but he must also abandon truths and methods that have been known for thousands of years. It's easy to say "our sources are the government, the military and NASA. All of which keep secrets," but the shape of the earth is knowable and calculable by anyone merely by making seaside observations....it's not dependent on the "deep state."

Humanity is no longer "stuck here on the Earth". Twelve men have actually stood on the moon and have observed the Earth rotating in front of them in real time. Hundreds from dozens of nations have spent time in orbit around a globular earth. This is reality. The Bible writers wrote in language that the people could understand and relate to. The only real test of science is "does it work?" and the answer is "yes it works extremely well."

Why would the Bible even need to mention that? There is no mention of the structure of your circulatory, digestive, endocrine, skeletal, and nervous systems. There is no mention of unicellular organisms. There is almost no mention of the constellations even though this stuff was very well understood in the ancient world.

Why do you suppose that is so? Perhaps because it doesn't matter and has exactly zero bearing on the message of how God wants you to live your life and the path to salvation through Christ?! It was enough to describe major history events and to even predict some of them because this book is about PEOPLE not the finer details of astronomy!

How do you know that YOU are not the wicked sinner who is currently being used by Satan? You desperately want to feel intellectually superior to people without having to put any work into it. Do you deny this? Don't you feel a tinge of jealousy that some people have the ability to mentally calculate the movements of distant celestial objects, the spectral geometry of radiation, and the quantum behavior of electrons?

Even atheist physicists acknowledge that the universe is fined tuned and the conditions on Earth are incredibly rare.

However, NOBODY with an honest view of reality believes in a Flat Earth. For $500 I can see some of the curvature and for a cool $5000 I can get a plane ticket with a view of the curvature and roundness of the Earth and also SPACE in real time with my own naked eyes. God does not deceive the eyes!!! It is blasphemy to say that he creates illusions!


Look at the obvious curvature! You would have to be blind to not see it. Some of space is already visible at this altitude. If I really wanted to burn through money I could hop a ride on a fighter jet and view a sharper curve at 70+ thousand feet.

Next time I go on a plane I'll post my very own video just for you ;P

You have to PROVE that scripture will not allow for anything other than a Flat Earth. I don't know what the theological ramifications for that would be but I'm so confident that the Bible DOES NOT support a 6000 year old flying magic disk that I'm willing to bet my lifes savings and my soul on it ;P
