Hey, what do you guys think of this? I made this to both help remind me and create a simple method to evangelism for those that don't know how to do it, or haven't done it before.

I've used this method before and it's worked, but I've never tried giving them the two warnings before, but I'm going to start trying it to increase my boldness and to hopefully persuade them to want to listen, and hopefully will get more salvations.

Any feedback or suggestions on this little card would be much appreciated.

I would say that you need both faith and works to be saved

Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Galacians 5:19-21
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Hebrew 6:4-6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

John 15:4-6
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Romans 11:20-23
Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

Matthew 24:13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Hebrews 10:36
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

James 2:14-26
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? your works, my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Revelation 3:16
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth

Faith is like a plant, with salvation it's flower.
Works are like the water you give the plant to survive.

You cannot have a flower without the plant,
And you cannot have the plant without water.

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast."
Romans 4:5 "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."
Titus 3:5-7 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
Romans 5:1-2 "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God."

The gospel of Jesus Christ is power to all those who believe, because it gives them life through the Lord Jesus Christ. When you walk up to an ungodly person (which we all are) and tell them they must work for their salvation, the gospel of the Lord loses it's power to save because it then becomes about that person's righteousness, not the righteousness of Christ.

This is not a debate form, however, so I won't go on with my reply. Thanks for your input.

None of the verses I gave said faith is not required for salvation , what they do imply is that faith cannot exist without works, and I am speaking of works of faith in Christ, not works of the law which is what a few of your verses (in context) are referring to.

You did ask for an opinion. I neither wish to debate. Merely state truth.

What is a work of faith?

And what is a work of the law?

I wouldn't walk up to a person and tell them they are saved by works because I wouldn't teach them half of the Gospel.

I would teach them that Christ died for us on the cross, both to pay the atonement of our sins, and to be resurrected from the dead showing that if we follow his commandments, which he tells us to do, that we can also be resurrected.

We are meant to do more then simply be saved, we are meant to be one like Christ and therefore become like God, communing with the Holy Trinity.

I think it takes more to lead a person then watering down the Gospel to a few verses. Let your actions speak louder than your words, build a relationship with the person teaching them wisdom from the Bible. Slowly they will be led to the truth.

What is a work of faith?

And what is a work of the law?

A work of the law is a work done to fulfil the Judaic law in the Old Testament. Much of the apostles writing was to Jews, Jews who thought they needed to fulfill the OT law as well as the teachings of Christ.

Works of faith are the teachings of Christ, works of the heart such as loving your neighbor, being meek and humble, charitibleness and all his other teachings. These teachings transform our heart, they sanctify us. This helps our faith not falter, keeping the faith we so desperately need to survive. That is why James says, I show you my faith by my works. To say you have faith, but an unwillingness to follow Christ's commandments, means that you are not trusting him as Lord, and therefore do not have genuine faith.

I don't water down the gospel. If they choose to listen, I go through an entire gospel presentation with them, and if they end up getting saved, I explain to them what should happen from that point forward regarding their faith and relationship with Christ, explaining baptism and discipleship. This card is merely meant to express a quick overview to the methodology of winning a soul to the Lord, it's not in depth for a reason, because the person using it should already know how to present the gospel in its entirety and then tell them once they get saved what they should do.

We are created unto good works, and a person's faith grows as he walks in the Spirit, but he is still saved even if he chooses not to do any works after he gets saved.

The most important thing is getting them into the kingdom and out of hell by giving them the gospel of Christ - discipleship is important, but not essential when soul-winning in my opinion.

Try the attached outline on how to witness to the lost.I have used this exact approach to lead 2-3000
people from about 15-20 different religions to salvation.I had the honor to lead 2 Hindus to salvation
