In the city [New Jerusalem, where God's Throne is],
no need of the
"light" of moon or Sun, since the glory of God shineth in the city, yet outside of the city is different, and there is still time in Heaven [see Job 1:6, 2:1 KJB, etc], from day to day, as eternity rolls:
Isaiah 24:23 KJB - Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
Revelation 21:23 KJB - And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Revelation 22:1 KJB - And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Revelation 22:2 KJB - In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Revelation 22:5 KJB - And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
Yet the sun and moon remain in the New Heavens and New Earth, for outside of the city as light, etc:
Isaiah 66:22 KJB - For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Isaiah 66:23 KJB - And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
Month is determined by the ordinance of the moon, and the days of the week by the ordinance of the sun:
Scripture [KJB] delineates when the Day [time] ends and when the Night [time] begins, and what constitutes a standard [whole] Day [Genesis 1:5,8,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,23,31, 15:12,17; Exodus 17:12; Deuteronomy 16:4,6,7; Joshua 10:26,27; Judges 19:9,25; 1 Kings 22:35,36; 2 Chronicles 18:34; Job 38:12; Psalms 104:19,20,21,22,23; Daniel 6:14,18,19; Malachi 4:2; Mark 1:32,78; Luke 1:79; John 1:1-18, 3:19,20,21, 8:12, 11:9,10, 12:46; 2 Corinthians 4:4,5,6; 1 John 1:5, etc. KJB].
Psalms 104:19 KJB - He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
Psalms 104:19 is a text which delineates the following passages to come, by mentioning both the [1] Moon, and then [2] the Sun, and then in the immediate context [Psalms 104] itself, the very next two passages deal with the Night-time, wherein the [1] Moon would “rule”, and is for the “seasons” or “appointed times” then referenced, being for those animals and plants of the night:
Psalms 104:20 KJB - Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.
Psalms 104:21 KJB - “The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
And then the text switches to the other Ordinance of Heaven, [2] that “greater light”, being the Sun, now “rules”, in its “appointed times” or “seasons”, and in this instance, it also references mankind, whereas the Moon passages has not done so:
Psalms 104:22 KJB - The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
Psalms 104:23 KJB - Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
In New Heaven and New Earth:
Isaiah 30:26 KJB - Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
