It was humanity that killed Christ on the cross. It is self that kills Christ in the human heart today. Self is that which dethrones Christ from His temple, which temple we are. Every action is either self or Christ. For there are only two movers, self or Christ. We are told in scripture;

Romans 6:16 (KJV)
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Scripture says we are given a choice as to which master we will obey. This choice is given to us in everything we do. Regardless of the circumstances, it’s always a choice of either responsing out from us or Christ. This choice is made by the will. For scripture say;

“the will is present”

So the will to do righteousness is in every believer, it’s just a matter of yielding to this new “life” that has been brought to birth in the heart of the believing soul. Have a great Sunday all which love the Lord Jesus from a pure heart.

Whether we choose Christ over Self is itself a gift of providence. The think otherwise, believing that *I* get to decide, is to remain in the mindset of self...

If I understand you correctly. You are saying scripture is inaccurate when it says “ the will is present with me”...... Most curious?

We don't have the power to correct ourselves (hence faith being a gift). Belief that the flesh can choose rightly is just another delusion of the flesh. The only way we can choose rightly is if God puts faith into us.

So true, “Belief that flesh can choose rightly is just another delusion”. For scripture says;

“in me, that is my flesh dwells no good thing”

But “praise be to God” that we have been made free from the body of this death by our being joined to Christ in His death. Whereby we might walk in newness of life. Whereby we might be made slaves of righteousness. So that we might walk worthy of God in all things.
Blessing to you.

There is good news to be found in this. This battle is The Lords. And as always, He wins. For whatever He puts His hand on, He finishes.And whatever He touches, grows. It is The light that always overcomes the darkness. "And I will finish the work I started in you".

Yes, the strength that gives, that we have “His sure word of promise.” That we might abide in Him and let Him being forth fruit in our lives. That we would know what the words “not I but Christ” mean by experience. Blessing to you.

God doesn't put faith in anybody. If he does why isn't he doing it for the whole of humanity that his son died for?

Amen. "If any man should follow me, he must deny himself.. ". I interpret that as denying our right to ourselves. Peace in Christ:).

One is sufficient: Ephesians 2:8-9

The first thing I would say is you can't talk so confidently about any biblical teaching with just one verse of scriptures.
If you read that verse carefully you will discover it's not saying faith is given by God. What we didn't work for is grace, grace is what Christ did without our efforts. Our duty is to believe what God has done by grace.

Rubbish, and heresy too.

Grace is the act of giving. Faith is that which is given.

Lol very funny... So faith(believing) is what is given?
Go read your Bible, Christ work is what is given and men have to believe the work.
Abraham is the father of faith according to scriptures, show me were the scripture said God gave him faith... AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD AND IT WAS ACCOUNTED TO HIM FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS...
Who believed?
And God gave Abraham faith?

I think this is a very good topic. In this world we live in it is very clear how much focus there is on your "self", the focus is based on how much can be done for yourself, and what is seen as yours.

Now; If Jesus Christ would have been very self-centered would He has chosen to die for us? He needed to be selfless, having a stronger desire for doing the Father's Will more than His own. Same way as we need to learn from Him, striving in becoming more and more selfless ourselves too. We are also meant to becoming more like Jesus Christ as well!

So this has to mean we do need to "die" from ourselves daily, giving our lives fully over to Him! Fully surrendered to God the Father, through Jesus Christ's grace and love!

Faith is a gift from God. Because Romans 12:3 says so.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
And He does give it to everybody, but not everybody takes hold of that faith, otherwise everybody would be saved.

Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
116:16 O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

You hear verse 15 at a lot of funerals. But I don't think that is what this verse is referring to.
We are to die to self. Paul said, I die daily.
I think that is what this verse is referring to.
Because when we die to self we are acting in faith and that is what pleases God.
