It gets quite feisty just on this forum. I cant imagine what itd be like in a tiny country full of denominations of all Christians - I can see denominations strangling each there and others like LDS and JW being ostracised and wars within wars. Itd end up like a micro Syria with multiple factions.

Whilst I can see some idea of resolving the problems facing Christians in the Levant I think we should remember that the kingdom Jesus seeks to bring about is a kingdom of hearts and minds, not so much princes and presidents.

No matter what we do physically can be compared to what will eventually happen when the new Jerusalem comes down from heaven. Every goverment will be corrupted until He comes back.
1Peter 2:13-14 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.

o_O did you read the original post? He is talking about the creation of a Christian based country, like if you could keep just saints in. My comment had nothing to do with following the Lords words to follow the laws of the living, which by the way, I obey even if I am not in a “saint fortress”. I actually prefer to be found among sinners because that’s where my job is.

Christians around the world ought to lobby our governments to get the UN to create a recognize create a Christian nation in the Middle-East.

John 18:36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”

The Government would be a Dual Theocratic-republican hybrid; unitary presidential republic subject to the patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church and Orthodox Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem and all Palestine and Israel. Alexandria and Jersuleum shall save as save zones and is partially part of this new republic. Good idea or bad?

You will find nothing in the Bible to support such an idea, that we are to establish a Christian nation on this earth.

A Christian country would be a lot less awesome than it sounds. Instead of a right and left party we'd have a catholic and reformed party, our quarrels would be theological instead of political, we'd probably have violent confrontation between creationists and evolutionists and so forth.
It would be the same we have right now, only with different labels. Nothing we do will solve the problems on earth. Only God can and He does it according to His will. Be patient. A few decades suffering on earth are nothing compared to an eternity of awesomeness.

Besides, it would really hurt evangelism. Christians are already viewed as an elite club with all the rules different denominations and churches lay out. This pushes away potential believers. Instead, we should spend more time among unbelievers and be their light.

Christ is from the Greek "Christos" which transliterated into Hebrew is "Messias."

Actually the translation was done from Hebrew to Greek.

The children of Israel was Promised a King and Redeemer. ALL Hebrews looked forward to their Messiah (Christ), and this makes them a Christian/Messiah Nation.

Jesus Christ is Both LORD and SAVIOR and He is also both Church and State in One.

And they have the Law, the Psalms and the Prophets to prove it whether you receive or not.

Messiah means literally "anointed one" and was the common way in which the Jews referred to kings of the dynasty of David. "Anointed" refers of course to the method of investiture of the Jewish kings. It translated into the Greek as "Christos". The Jews regarded themselves as a "theocracy"... a kingdom ruled by God. The Jews also envisaged a (metaphorical) throne room in which there were three thrones. God occupied the central throne. At "the right hand of God" was the throne of the "king messiah" who was the reigning king of the house and family of David. At "the left hand of God" was the throne of the "priest messiah" who was the high priest of the house and family of Zadok. Ideally there were always two messiahs who were known collectively as the "sons of God". All these terms, "messiah", "kingdom of God", "at the right hand of God" and "son of God" were political rather than religious statements. It was a later generation of gentile Christians who re-interpreted these phrases in a very different religious sense. Both before and after the death of Jesus the early Christians, who were, after all, practicing Jews, understood these terms in their traditional sense. Jesus in claiming to be the messiah had not committed any blasphemy... there was no religious crime that the high priest could legitimately charge him with. That is why he went to the Romans to do the job.

Dreams. Only dreams.
i appreciate your altruistic thoughts, but this is never going to happen. Not until God restores true justice to the Earth.

Today ... Every square foot of land in the Middle East must be paid for in blood. Real human blood. Sad to say ... but that is the reality.

Christians around the world ought to lobby our governments to get the UN to create a recognize create a Christian nation in the Middle-East. This nation would take up most of north Israel and Palestine, pieces of south Syria including Damascus, and pies of Lebanon. Each sect and/or denomination of Christian will have at least 3 representatives so no sect and/or denomination rules the theocratic republic known as the Republic of Byzantinium and Galilee.

That would be great in a perfect world (which is coming) but in today's world it sounds like a good way to get us all in one spot to receive a nuclear blessing from Satan

You're right, I didn't get your comment. Seems like we are on different sides of the road there. Well, I do agree on your position about the corruption of any government.

Anthem would be the Aramaic version of the Lord's Prayer:

It’s a great idea in theory but to put it into effect would be a disaster I think. Which denominations would be in control and how do we classify someone as a Christian? Remember the first settlers here in America were “Christians” but then began slaughtering the American Indians. I think if our goal would be to create a Christian only country it wouldn’t unite Christians the way we would all like but instead cause more problems with doctrinal differences and could be a huge stumbling block causing many to judge each other. Just my opinion.

Then perhaps when this happens, we will see who really are the true followers of Christ.

What about a monastic state or a federation of monastic communities whose main function would be to take care of the Holy Sites, and cater to pilgrims? Something like the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land, but bigger and with more autonomy. The Land would officially belong to the states of Israel, Syria, Egypt, whatever, but in practice it would be run by this autonomous Christian community. It could be called "the Protectorate of the Holy Sepulchre" or "the Christian Free State of the Holy Land".

Tell me...is God going to re-institute the sacrifices during the Millennium and Zadok as priest?

Otherwise, good reply. Informative.

I'm fundamentally opposed to the creation of a Christian state, the concept is inherently unChristian in and of itself. Christ didn't establish His Church to rule, but to serve.

No it will just be opinions until we get home. Then we will truly know who the Christians are.
Yeah, ultimately.God will have the final say. Though I still consider it safe to say that even on Earth, we can tell who are the true Christians, through the scriptures.

I believe that the end times fascination and speculations of Christians is an immense mistake. The earth will be destroyed in some 6 billion years when the nuclear fires of the sun burn out and the sun expands to engulf the earth. By that time I hope that mankind will have expanded to inhabit other planets around other stars.
