Catholics only - May consecration

Tomorrow is the opening day of preparation for the total consecration to Jesus through Mary. We will spend 33 days preparing for our total consecration. I will use this thread daily to update my thoughts on that days verses, prayers, and meditations.

Martin voiced his interest so we will use this thread to discuss it between us and I invite all Catholics to join us even if it is just for the day!

Please pray for me, I’m going to need all the I can get for tomorrow...

I start praying for everyone as soon as I can, right now however, I am preoccupied with several other things, hopefully these will all be resolved soon.

Everything is online. We will just go day to day and read the readings and the meditations etc and at the end of the day we will share our thoughts for that day.

Sorry for the late post. Worked all day.

Today's focus was on Holiness and how it is our vocation. All of us. No matter where we are or what our lot in life is we are called to be holy.

We don't have to be monks or priests or nuns to live holy devout lives for God. In everything we do and say we should always be mindful of who we serve.

I believe we can all work towards holiness. There will be lots of falls on the way but we must not be discouraged. As human beings, we easily become discouraged. But we must remain firm in our resolve and pray for help.

Today was about commitment. Can we and are we prepared to commit everything to our goal? Will we be willing to sacrifice everything for the final destination? As we continue our 33 day journey let us commit everything we can spare to giving ourselves to this consecration.

Yes, that's something I really need to work on, giving everything to Our Lady, and holding on tightly to her. I remember that I have entrusted everything to her, and that everything is her Immaculate hands, that's hardest thing, remembering my consecration, it's very easy to get distracted by everything that's happening in the world today, both good and ill. I need to get into of saying the Sub Tuum Paesidium, the Totus Tuus, and, as St. Louis de Montfort himself suggested; "I renounce myself, I give myself to you, my Blessed Mother." As St. Padre Pio stated, (which you have in your signature

) "Pray. Hope. Do not worry"

Today's focus is on sacrifice. What are we willing to give up for Jesus. I thought hard about this all day and after watching the movie the Island (the Russian movie not the dumb fake horror movie) I have decided what I'm giving up for the remainder of this preparation is stuff. Buying stuff more specifically. Everything I buy needs to serve an immediate need and if it doesn't then no go. I love spending money on books, video gamds, and religious stuff. For the remainder of our time preparing for our consecration I will be giving that up. What about you all? What will you give up as we move forward?
