Jesus said
Matthew 19
if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
18 He said to Him, “Which ones?”
Jesus said,
“‘You shall not murder,’ Exodus 20
You shall not commit adultery,’ Exodus 20
You shall not steal,’ Exodus 20
You shall not bear false witness,’ Exodus 20
19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ Exodus 20
and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” Lev 19:18

All of it from "The Law of Moses"
Was Jesus wrong?
So the man claimed to obey the commandments, yet, he still walked away from Christ.
For there was one thing he lacked.

2Cor 3:7-11 tells us the 10 commands were the ministry of death.

They certainly are for the lost.

Paul says the same thing in Romans 3

19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become guilty before God; 20 because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.
...
23. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

"Sin IS transgression of the LAW" 1 John 3:4

To this very day - the Law condemns -- continues to condemn all mankind - all the lost.

"What then do we make void the Law of God by our faith? God forbid! in fact we ESTABLISH the LAW" Rom 3:31

And in fact under the NEW Covenant that "LAW is written on the heart and mind" Jeremiah 31:31-33

Notice "were" past tense

Indeed the Ten Commandments condemned the lost - until they enter into the New Covenant Gospel relationship to God with that same law "written on heart and mind" instead of condemning them.

Should we all be circumcised to receive the covenant given to Abraham?

Hello BNR32FAN, circumcision is part of the SHADOW ordinances contained in the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT not the 10 Commandments and are part of the SHADOW laws fulfilled in CHIRST under the NEW COVENANT for example...

FORTOLD IN THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES….

DEUTERONOMY 30 [6] And the LORD your God will CIRCUMCISE YOUR HEART AND THE HEART OF YOUR DECENDENCE, TO LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITHYOU’RE YOUR SOUL, THAT YOU MAY LIVE.

JEREMIAH 4 [4] CIRCUMCISE YOURSELF TO THE LORD, AND TAKE AWAY THE FORESKINS OF YOUR HEART, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

DEUTERONOMY 10 [16] CIRCUMCISE therefore THE FORESKIN OF YOUR HEART, and be no more stiff-necked.

NEW COVENANT FULFILLMENT of the SHADOWS of the CEREMONIAL ORDINANCE of CIRCUMCISION pointing the CIRCUMCISION of the HEART through faith in Christ…

ROMANS 2 [25] For circumcision verily profits, if you keep the law: but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision is made uncircumcision. [26], Therefore if the uncircumcision keeps the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? [27], And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfils the law, judge you, who by the letter and circumcision do transgress the law? [28], FOR HE IS NOT A JEW, WHO IS ONE; NEITHER IS THAT CIRCUMCISION, WHICH IS OF THE OUTWARD FLESH: [29], BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; AND CIRCUMCISION IS THAT OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT AND NOT IN THE LETTER; WHOSE PRAISE IS NOT OF MEN BUT OF GOD.
1 CORITHIANS 7 [19] CIRCUMCISION IS NOTHING, AND UNCIRCUMCISION IS NOTHING, BUT THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.

This is the operation of GOD in the NEW COVENANT…

HEBREWS 8 [10], For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

................

The SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT for remission of SIN and God's plan of SALVATION are fullfilled in Christ. NOT the 10 Commandments these are the ETERNAL laws of GOD and the very standard and KNOWLEDGE of SIN and RIGHTOUESNESS (Good and Evil). If we break ANY ONE of the 10 we stand guilty before God under the LAW of SIN. Those who continue in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

Are we not following the commandment given by God by working 6 days and resting on the 7th? God did not say the 7th day of the week my friend. Are we not following the meaning of the sabbath by worshipping on Sunday?

Actually God did say the SEVENTH DAY of the week is the SABBATH. Maybe you did not know it. Let's look at the scriptures...

GENESIS 2:1-3
[1],
Thus the heavens and the earth WERE FINISHED, and all the host of them.
[2], And on the SEVENTH DAY GOD ENDED HIS WORK which he had made; and HE RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made.
[3],
And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, AND SANCTIFIED IT: BECAUSE HE HAD RESTED FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH GOD HAD CREATED AND MADE.

Points of interest...

v2 THE SABBATH was made on the SEVENTH DAY OF the CREATION week.
v1-2 THE SABBATH was part of a FINISHED WORK OF CREATION OF ALL THINGS IN THE HEAVENS AND EARTH
v3 GOD BELSSED THE SEVENTH DAY AND MADE IT A HOLY DAY
v1-3 THE SABBATH was made BEFORE MANKIND SINNED AND BEFORE GOD'S PLAN OF SALVATION WAS GIVEN TO MANKIND (see Gen 3 which is where mankind sinned)

...............

CONCLUSION: THE SABBATH DAY was made on the SEVENTH DAY (Saturday). God RESTED on the SEVENTH DAY (Saturday). GOD BLESSED the SEVENTH DAY (Saturday). GOD set apart the SEVENTH DAY (Saturday) and made it a HOLY DAY because he RESTED on the SEVENTH DAY (Saturday) from all the work of creation.

...............

Now let's look at the 4th Commandment.

EXODUS 20:8-11
[8],
REMEMBER, the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
[9], Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
[10], But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
[11], For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.

Points of interest...

v8 The commandment is to REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY TO KEEP IT A HOLY DAY
v9-10 NO WORK is to be done on the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH
v10 THIS IS GOD'S SABBATH made for mankind (Mark 2:27-28)
v8;11 THE REASON FOR THE SABBATH IS A MEMORIAL OF CREATION AND THE CREATOR

...............

CONCLUSION: God's 4th Commandment of the 4/10 commands us to REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY TO KEEP IT A HOLY DAY. God's 4th Commandment says that THE SEVENTH DAY (Saturday) IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD THY GOD. Why? For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT (A direct reference back to Genesis 2:1-3).

God's WORD disagrees with you. We are commanded by God to keep the SEVENTH DAY (Saturday) of the week AS A HOLY DAY and NO WORK is to be done on this day.

Are we not honoring God by celebrating Jesus’ resurrection?

We should worship God everyday of the week but the SEVENTH DAY is a HOLY DAY and NO WORK is to be done on this day (see above scriptures)

I think it is very commendable that some people keep the Saturday sabbath but not everyone can. Some people have to work on Saturday. I do concrete demolition for a living and I’m often called to work on Saturday. I would love to be able to worship on Saturday but unfortunately in my line of work every company requires people to work on Saturdays.

Have faith in God to help you.

1 CORINTHIANS 10:13[13], There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

This is why I believe Romans 14 is talking about the sabbath. We are still obeying the purpose of the law while not being burdened by a yoke that no one can bear.

You are reading into scripture something that is not there. Where in Romans 14 does it mention God's 4th Commandment? God's LAW (10 Commandments) the scriptures tell us are ETERNAL and are FOREVER.

God's 10 Commandments which includes the 4th Commandment was spoken by God himself to his people (Exodus 20:1-17). Jesus says Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matthew 25:35).

The Ten Commandments were the work of God himself, spoken and written by God alone on two tables of stone (Exodus 32:16). God's WORD says; whatsoever God does is forever nothing can be added to it or taken away (Ecclesiastes 3:14).

Gods Law is still in force today (Psalms 111:7-8, Revelation 12:17, 14:12, 22:14, 1 John 3:5-8, 1 John 2:3-4 etc.). The Law of God reveals sin to us so we can see ourselves as we truly are sinners in need of a Saviour (Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4).

God's LAW (10 Commandments) is the great standard of the judgement (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, James 2:10-12, 1 John 3:4, Acts 17:31).

Please see also previous post here linked..

“Brothers, you all know that God chose me from among you some time ago to preach to the Gentiles so that they could hear the Good News and believe. God knows people’s hearts, and he confirmed that he accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts through faith. So why are you now challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers with a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear? We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus.”” Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭15:7-11‬

ACTS 15 is talking about the ORDINANCE of CIRCUMCISION and the chapter CONTEXT was that certain of the JEWISH believers were saying that the new Gentile CONVERTS must be CIRCUMCISED in order to be SAVED. It is not saying that GENTILES are free to break God's LAW (10 Commandments)

Chapter topic of CONTEXT...

ACTS 15:1-2 [1], And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brothers, and said, Except you be circumcised after the manner of Moses, you cannot be saved. [2], When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.

Outcome of the discussion in Juresalem in regards to CIRCUMCISION for salvation...

ACTS 15:19-21 [19], Why my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: [20], But that we write to them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.[21], For Moses of old time has in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

God's WORD disagrees with you. The scripture is not talking about the 10 Commandments. It is talking about the SHADOW law of CIRCUMCISION for new gentile BELIEVERS saying they will learn more of God's WORD on the SABBATH.

“But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.” Romans‬ ‭7:6‬

I am not sure what you are quoting here. The scripture says..

ROMANS 7:5-7 [5], For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit to death. [6], But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. [7], What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, You shall not covet.

It is SIN that we are to die to not God's LAW.

ROMANS 3:20 [20], Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

ROMANS 7:5 [5] For when we were in the flesh <carnal mind or sinful human nature>, the motions of sins, which were by the law <or revealed by the law Romans 3;20>, did work in our members to bring forth fruit to death <the wages of sin is death Romans 6:23>.

ROMANS 7:7 [7], What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, You shall not covet.

Can you see the scriptures connecting?

Sin is the problem not God's LAW which is HOLY, JUST AND GOOD ...

ROMANS 7:10-12 [10], And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be to death. [11], For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. [12], Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

This is why Paul says elsewhere..

ROMANS 3:31; [31], Do we then make void the law through faith? GOD FORBID; YES WE ESTABLISH THE LAW.

Are we not living in the Spirit if we still honor God on Sunday?

NONE have God's Spirit while KNOWINGLY breaking God's Commandments...

ACTS 5:32 [32], And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, WHOM GOD GIVES TO THOSE WHO OBEY HIM.

1 JOHN 2:3-4 [3], And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. [4], He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

ACTS 2:38 [38], Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

So please my friend don’t be like the Pharisees in the verse you quoted in Luke 18. I’m sure your heart is not like theirs because you are a follower of Jesus Christ.

It is not being like the Pharasees to BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. The Pharasees followed their own traditions over the WORD of GOD (Matthew 15:3-9) and were not BORN AGAIN.

Hope these scriptures help..

................

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

So the man claimed to obey the commandments, yet, he still walked away from Christ.
For there was one thing he lacked.

Indeed - the "Obey and live" arrangement that the Bible also calls the "Old Covenant" condemns all the world -- all the world becomes guilty before God - even to this day... under such a covenant. See Romans 3:19-21 for "all have sinned"

Yes I am well aware of Exodus 20 and it doesn’t say the 7th day of the week. Six says shall you work but the seventh is the sabbath and you shall not work. So what about the scriptures I posted? Are they incorrect and if so why?

The days of the week started at creation, and just repeated. We cannot change facts to suit an opinion. You can't willy nilly start with Wednesday and say Tuesday is the 7th day. Or Thurday and say Wednesday is the 7th day. It is not up to us. God is the Creator and started the pattern of the week.

That being said, does that mean we as Christians are to keep the Sabbath as the Jews? Don't you know it was included in the law UNTIL Christ should come, Galatians 3:19. If SDAs and Messianics want to keep the Sabbath day, let them. If others see and accept that Jesus is the fulfillment and substance of the Sabbath and put their trust in HIM, let them. It only matters to God that everyone is convinced in their own mind and that each side believes in Jesus as their Savior and obeys His Word to the best of our understanding.

So let us love each other as Jesus commanded.

The answer again is I never said there was any such commandment from God to worship Jesus on Sunday or on Saturday. If you believe that we are commanded by God to worship Jesus on Saturday, the please provide the scriptures that instruct us to do this.

Well let's start here. As God's WORD disagrees with you. Let's see what God says..

We are commanded by God to keep the SEVENTH DAY (Saturday) of the week AS A HOLY DAY.

...............

IF YOU BREAK ONE COMMANDMENT AND KEEP 9/10 YOU ARE BREAKING ALL.

God's Law is our teacher revealing sin and the character of God and brings us to Christ at the foot of the cross that we might be saved by faith (Galatians 3:24; Revelation 1:5).

Jesus came not to abolish the law, but to fulfil it ( Matt 5:17-20 ). The law is the embodiment of truth that instructs ( Rom 2:18-19 ). It is "holy" and "spiritual, " making sin known to us by defining it; therefore, Paul delights in it ( Romans 7:7-14; Romans 7:22). The law is good if used properly (1 Tim 1:8), and is not opposed to the promises of God ( Gal 3:21 ). Faith does not make the law void, but the Christian establishes the law ( Rom 3:31 ), fulfilling its requirements by walking according to the Spirit ( Rom 8:4 ) through love ( Rom 13:10 ).

You cannot know the power of God or the Gospel of Grace without the 10 commandments. If there is NO LAW then you do not know what SIN is (James 2:11; Romans 7:7; Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4). God's Law is perfect converting the soul (Psalms 19:7).

If you do not know what SIN is you have NO need of a Savior. If you have NO need of a Savior you have NO Salvation. If you have NO Salvation you are LOST because it is written.

You cannot keep 9/10 Commandments and stand guiltless before God.

James 2:8-12 [8], If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well: [9], But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. [10], For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. [11], For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you are become a transgressor of the law. [12], So speak you, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Now please, where does it say in all of God's WORD that God's 4th Commandment has now been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a HOLY DAY? To break God's LAW is to deny his WORD. UNBELIEVERS have no part in God's KINGDOM.

.......................

2Cor 3:7-11 tells us the 10 commands were the ministry of death. Notice "were" past tense because in those verses Paul writes that they were done away. (KJV) Other translations use the word transitory. They were temporary until the gift of the Holy Spirit became man's guide. Read all about it in 2Cor 3:7-11 and in 1Jn 3. Transgression of the law as noted in 1JN 3 is not believing in Jesus and not loving others as Jesus loves us. The Gospel is so simple and some try to make it so hard. If we believed as they do Heaven would be a lonely place.

Hi Bob, you need to re-visit your interpretation of 2 COR 3. It is not biblical.

2 COR 3: 5-10

2 CORINTHIANS 3:1-10
[1], Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
[2], You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
[3], Since you are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.
[4], And such trust have we through Christ toward God:
[5], Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
[6], Who also has made us able ministers of the new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.
[7], But if the ministry of death, written and engraved in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
[8], How shall not the ministry of the Spirit be more glorious?
[9], For if the ministry of condemnation be glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness exceed in glory.
[10], For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excels.

Now take a look at v3 highlighted in RED which is the CONTEXT or what follows.

Now take a look at the NEW COVENANT promise from Jeremiah 31:31-34 and repeated by the same same author as Corinthians in Hebrews 8:10-12 and 10:16-17

Hebrews 8:10-12
[10], For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
[11], And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
[12], For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

This is the part that is transitory as you say. 2 Corinthians 3 is talking about the NEW COVENANT of God's LAW written on the heart through LOVE by His Spirit. The transitory is from the tables of stone to the fleshly tables of the heart (2 Cor 3:3; Hebrews 8:10)

Let's look at the scriptures laid out together side by side...

2 CORINTHIANS 3:3, [3], Since you are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.

Hebrews 8:10 [10], For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.

JEREMIAH 31:33 [33], But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, said the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

2 CORINTHIANS 3:3 [3], Since you are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.

continuing in Ezekiel 36..

[27], And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them.

God's Spirit of love...

ROAMNS 13:8-10 [8], Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the law. [9], For this, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. [10], Love works no ill to his neighbor: THEREFORE LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW.

The transitory is God's LAW written on stone to the fleshly tables of the heart through FAITH that works by LOVE by God's Spirit (Romans 8:1-4).

.................

CONCLUSION
: 2 Cor 3 is talking about the NEW COVENANT of LOVE written on the heart to walk in God's LAW, to be OBEDIENT to follow God through LOVE. It is NOT talking about ABOLISHING God's LAW it is talking about FULFILLING God's LAW in those who BELIEVE God's WORD. This is RIGHTEOUSNESS (Salvation) by FAITH for a SINNER that BELIEVES the WORD'S of the SAVIOUR (JESUS). What is being ABOLISHED is the condemnation and the penalty of sin through FAITH in Christ by walking in the Spirit under the NEW COVENANT.

Hope this helps

................

SIN is still the same as it has always been which is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Once again, if we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus on a Sunday, what has that got to do with any other day?

Nothing at all - as long as "you don't make it relate to any other day".

But if you were to say "I went to a worship service on Sunday morning - so now I can take God's name in vain or break the Sabbath commandment" then it is "you" who are tying your worship service to the commandments and an argument for breaking one.

Is there anything wrong with celebrating the resurrection of Christ on a Sunday

Nothing at all wrong with it as I just stated in the post you responded to -- unless you are trying to make something wrong with it by claiming you can be at war against God's Commandments just as long as you have a service on Sunday remembering that Christ was resurrected.

. Too which you replied, 'Nothing at all', which is the point it took three days to make.

Details matter -- can you actually show - you and I have a discussion where you ask me if going to a worship service on Sunday is wrong -- that starts 3 days ago?

I notice that you go this answer to that same question yesterday --

Hello David,

Worshipping God on Sunday or any day is not the problem. We should worship God everyday of the week. :)
.

you also said this today -

There is no association between a day of rest and the day chosen for fellowship, and the breaking of the bread.

Normally you can worship on Sabbath and fellowship as the Bible commands and also have a Tuesday worship service or prayer meeting or whatever you want including on Sunday. Nothing about the worship and prayer meeting held on Monday or on Sunday says you must also go on to be at war with the Sabbath Command to worship God and rest on the Sabbath.

If the man obeyed the TC, why did he lack anything?
He didn't keep the commandments, and therefore lacked everything. See that Jesus purposefully skipped the 10th:

Matthew 19:17 KJB - And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Matthew 19:18 KJB - He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

Matthew 19:19 KJB - Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 19:20 KJB - The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Notice:

[6] Thou shalt do no murder..

[7] Thou shalt not commit adultery.

[8] Thou shalt not steal.

[9] Thou shalt not bear false witness.

[10] ????

[5] Honour thy father and thy mother.

Summation of the second Table: "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself".

The rich young ruler, knew the Ten Commandments by heart. And Jesus being discreet, pointed out to him the commandment he was trasngressing, by citing 6,7,8,9,5.

The rich young ruler would have immediately recognized that 10 was missing. Covetousness. But he plays cool with Jesus and says:

Matthew 19:20 KJB - The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Jesus knew better. Jesus then openly tests him:

Matthew 19:21 KJB - Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Matthew 19:22 KJB - But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

The price was too high for him. The treasure he could have had were the "poor" people he could have won to Jesus Christ unto etneral life through the Gospel if he had done what Jesus asked. The rich young ruler was therefore rich in worldly goods, but not rich in love. In this, he was "dirt" poor.

Jesus is so again testing those who say that they obey God, by the 4th Commandment today. They say that they "rest" in Jesus, but do not "rest" in the day He said to rest, the Holy 7th Day the Sabbath of the LORD thy God. They are not therefore "resting", they are still "working".

I am reposting this in case you didn’t see it.

Should we all be circumcised to receive the covenant given to Abraham? Are we not following the commandment given by God by working 6 days and resting on the 7th? God did not say the 7th day of the week my friend.

I did miss that post -- you are right. Sorry about that

You said "God did not say the 7th day of the week" - let's see if that is true.

Here is what God actually said.

Exodus 16

4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction. 5 On the sixth day, when they prepare what they bring in, it will be twice as much as they gather daily.” 6 So Moses and Aaron said to all the sons of Israel, “At evening you will know that the Lord has brought you out of the land of Egypt; 7 and in the morning you will see the glory of the Lord, for He hears your grumblings against the Lord; and what are we, that you grumble against us?”
...
16 This is what the Lord has commanded, ‘Gather of it every man as much as he should eat; you shall take an omer apiece according to the number of persons each of you has in his tent.’” 17 The sons of Israel did so, and some gathered much and some little. 18 When they measured it with an omer, he who had gathered much had no excess, and he who had gathered little had no lack; every man gathered as much as he should eat. 19 Moses said to them, “Let no man leave any of it until morning.” 20 But they did not listen to Moses, and some left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and became foul; and Moses was angry with them. 21 They gathered it morning by morning, every man as much as he should eat; but when the sun grew hot, it would melt.

The Sabbath Observed
22 Now on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. When all the leaders of the congregation came and told Moses, 23 then he said to them, “This is what the Lord meant: Tomorrow is the Sabbath observance, a holy sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over put aside to be kept until morning.” 24 So they put it aside until morning, as Moses had ordered, and it did not become foul nor was there any worm in it. 25 Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a sabbath to the Lord; today you will not find it in the field. 26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will be none.”

27 It came about on the seventh day that some of the people went out to gather, but they found none. 28 Then the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My instructions? 29 See, the Lord has given you the sabbath; therefore He gives you bread for two days on the sixth day. Remain every man in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.” 30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

That happened every week - for 40 years.

Weekly-

the 7th day of the week. no manna

==================

Exodus 20
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Six days you shall labor -- but the seventh day is the Sabbath.

for in six days the LORD made... and rested the seventh day - therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath.

Christ was resurrected on week-day-1 -- Sunday.
the seventh day is Saturday.

Are we not following the meaning of the sabbath by worshipping on Sunday? .

Good question .. are you?

Yes I am well aware of Exodus 20 and it doesn’t say the 7th day of the week. Six says shall you work but the seventh is the sabbath and you shall not work.

Is it your claim that Israelites starved to death in the wilderness for those 40 years since you reject the clear statements above about the 7 day week?

No, Bob was right.

Their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more

Well that has no truth in it. God will not remember his peoples sins and lawless deeds because they have REPENTED of their sins and been FORGIVEN in Christ.

Those who break God's Commandments are under God's LAW and stand guilty before God in SIN.

This is a repost from T7C that you ignored in another thread..

Remembered sins [ie forgotten sins], are in a differing location than the recorded sins in the books of Heaven.

[Books of Heaven]

God has various "books" of records that are kept:

Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. Exodus 32:32 KJB

And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. Exodus 32:33 KJB

...Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: [are they] not in thy book. Psalms 56:8 KJB

...Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all [my members] were written, [which] in continuance were fashioned, when [as yet there was] none of them. Psalms 139:16 KJB

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Daniel 12:1 KJB

And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. Revelation 5:1 KJB

And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? Revelation 5:2 KJB

And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. Revelation 5:3 KJB

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. Revelation 5:4 KJB

And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. Revelation 5:5 KJB

And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. Revelation 5:7 KJB

And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four [and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. Revelation 5:8 KJB

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; Revelation 5:9 KJB

And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and [with] other my fellowlabourers, whose names [are] in the book of life. Philippians 4:3 KJB

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5 KJB

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 13:8 KJB

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. Revelation 17:8 KJB

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:12 KJB

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15 KJB

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. Revelation 21:27 KJB

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book. Revelation 22:19 KJB

Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. Deuteronomy 31:28 KJB

Also now, behold, my witness [is] in heaven, and my record [is] on high. Job 16:19

Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth. 2 Corinthians 1:23 KJB

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:8 KJB

And he spread it before me; and it [was] written within and without: and [there was] written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe. Ezekiel 2:10 KJB

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, [and] doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked [man] doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. Ezekiel 18:24 KJB

[[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.]] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Psalms 51:1 KJB

And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked [thee] to anger before the builders. Nehemiah 4:5 KJB

Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay [me]: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal [thus] with them in the time of thine anger. Jeremiah 18:23 KJB

Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. Psalms 109:14 KJB

Behold, [it is] written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, Isaiah 65:6 KJB

Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom. Isaiah 65:7 KJB

If the book is read, then the sin can be remembered.

For instance, a parable of sorts. I have a set of car keys. I want to keep them in a safe place. I write down a location that I store them in for safe keeping. Months go by and I cannot remember them. If I look in the book, can I remember?

Heaven has books of Record.
God has a mind.

They are two things, not one. One can refresh the other.

Forgiveness can be revoked, as cited earlier:

A person can indeed lose their salvation, as it is written in Leviticus 23; Deuteronomy 30; 1 Samuel 10 & 1 Chronicles 10; Jeremiah 17; Ezekiel 3 & 33, Matthew 12 & 18; Acts 4-5; 1 Corinthians 15; Hebrews 6 & 10; James 1; 2 Peter; Revelation 3 KJB etc, and so on. - [link]

................

SIN is still the same as it has always been which is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. Psalms 69:28 KJB

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard [it], and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. Malachi 3:16 KJB

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deuteronomy 30:19 KJB

Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. Deuteronomy 31:28 KJB

Your first two paragraphs are a contradiction. As to the rest:

All who sin under the law will be judged by the law.

Not at all only God's WORD is true and we should believe and FOLLOW it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God.

Rom 2:12

Doesn't this scripture go against your teaching that you can still KNOWINGLY SIN and be in a saved state before God?

You do like digging a hole for yourself don't you.

Those who demand of others what they do not even try to attain to in their own lives fail to obey the two laws on which the entire law hangs. They don't love God or their neighbour

Love:

Deuteronomy 6:1 KJB - Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:

Deuteronomy 6:2 KJB - That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

Deuteronomy 6:3 KJB - Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

Deuteronomy 6:4 KJB - Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

Deuteronomy 6:5 KJB - And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Deuteronomy 6:6 KJB - And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

Deuteronomy 6:7 KJB - And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Deuteronomy 6:8 KJB - And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Leviticus 19:17 KJB - Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

Leviticus 19:18 KJB - Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Where are they quoting from?:

Matthew 22:37 KJB - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Mark 12:30 KJB - And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Luke 10:27 KJB - And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

What then is the context of Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:17-18? Its Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 5, the Ten Commandments.

Jesus quoted Himself at Mt. Sinai at the giving of the Ten Commandments:

Exodus 20:6 KJB - And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

John 14:15 KJB - If ye love me, keep my commandments.

It is love to tell you about your transgression of one of God's commandments:

Leviticus 19:17 KJB - Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

Leviticus 19:18 KJB - Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

It's based in LOVE for you brother!

It ain't because we hate you. It is because all trangression is sin, and sin leads unto death, and we don't want that to happen to you. It is a warning sent in Love, even the Love of God for you that burns within us. You cannot point to others and say what about them, past present or future. You have been shown. Light has come to you. You must choose.

John 3:19 KJB - And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Proverbs 6:23 KJB - For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

The Whole Law, all of the Ten Commandments, or none of them [there is no discount] ... choose.

Therefore when you say you must look to Christ, What Christ are you looking at? The Jesus of the scripture, the Living example of how to obey God's Law, obeys the Commandments of God and transgresses none, by/through the Holy Spirit.

Luke 4:16 KJB - And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

Luke 4:18 KJB - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

John 15:10 KJB - If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1 Peter 2:21 KJB - For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Therefore, look, Behold this Lamb!:

John 1:29 KJB - The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

In beholding that Life, that Example, it will take away sin [which is transgression of the Law; 1 John 3:4 KJB]

There is no example, then, now or ever, of Christ Jesus transgressing the 4th Commandment, the Holy 7th Day the Sabbath of the LORD thy God.

I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean
Rom 14:14

Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All(ALL) food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble
