Continuation of post 120............Revelation Chapter 1 Verses
[Decided to split it up again. Was longer than I thought.]
Reve 1:8
I AM being the Alpha and the Omega........... the Almighty!

John

John 4:26
Jesus saith to her, "I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> He who am speaking to thee" [woman at the well]
John 6:20 and He saith to them, 'I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> He, be not afraid" [Jesus walking on water]

The Bread from Heaven:

John 6:
35 And Jesus said to them, 'I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> the bread of the life;
he who is coming unto Me may not hunger, and he who is believing in Me may not thirst -- at any time;
41 The Jews, therefore, were murmuring at Him, because he said, ''I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> the bread that came down out of the heaven;'
48 ''I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> the bread of the life";
51 ''I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> the living bread that came down out of the heaven; if any one may eat of this bread he shall live -- to the age;
and the bread also that I will give is My flesh, that I will give for the life of the world.'

John 8:12 Again, therefore, Jesus spake to them, saying, 'I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> the light of the world; he who is following Me shall not walk in the darkness, but he shall have the light of the life.'

John 8:28 Jesus, therefore, said to them, 'When ye may lift up the Son of Man then ye will know that I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> He;
and of Myself I do nothing, but according as My Father did teach me, these things I speak;

Sheep pen, Door and Shepherd

John 10:
7 Jesus said therefore again to them, 'Verily, verily, I say to you --I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> the door of the sheep;
9 I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> the door, through Me if any one may come in, he shall be saved and he shall come in and go out and find pasture.
11 'I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> the good shepherd; the good shepherd his life layeth down for the sheep;
14 I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> the good shepherd, and I know My sheep, and am known by Mine,

John 13:19 I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> He.

John 15:5 they answered Him, 'Jesus the Nazarene;'
Jesus saith to them, 'I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> He;' --
and Judas who delivered Him up was standing with them; --

Here are the other times:

Acts 9:5
And he said, 'Who art thou, Lord?' and the Lord said, 'I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> Jesus whom thou dost persecute; hard for thee at the pricks to kick;' [Acts 22:8]

Upon looking up that verse, I noticed some Bible versions either add/leave out the last part of it. [I also put up the Greek]

Acts 9:5 "Who are you, Lord?" Saul asked. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he replied.

New American Standard Bible
Acts 9:5
And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" And He said, "I AM Jesus whom you are persecuting",
King James Bible
Acts 9:5
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, "I AM Jesus whom thou persecutest:
it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks".

Acts 9:5

Acts 18:

9 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid! keep on speaking, do not be silent.
10 For I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> with you and no one will lay a hand on you, because I have many people in this city.

Acts 22:8
And I answered, "Who art thou, Lord"?
And He said unto me, '"I/egw<1473> AM/eimi<1510> Jesus, the Nazarene, whom thou dost persecute" -- [the same as Acts 9:5]

Reve 1:12
And I turn to be seeing the voice/sound which spoke with me.
And upon turning, I see seven golden lamp-stands.

kai **** epestreya blepein thn fwnhn htiV elalhsen met emou
kai epistreyaV eidon epta lucniaV crusaV
In this verse are mentioned the 7 lamp-stands.
Exodus 25 gives us some insight on the "menorah" and it's 7 lamps.
I wonder how much gold and the cost to make a menorah today.........

Exodus 25:
31 "You are to make a menorah of pure gold. It is to be made of hammered work; its base, shaft, cups, ring of outer leaves and petals are to be of one piece with it.
37 "Make seven lamps for the menorah, and mount them so as to give light to the space in front of it.

Verse 37. - The seven lamps. The lamps are not described. They appear by the representation on the Arch of Titus to have been hemispherical bowls on a stand, which fitted into the lily-blossom wherewith each of the seven branches terminated. They shall light the lamps. The lamps were lighted every evening at sunset (Exodus 27:21; Exodus 30:8; Leviticus 24:3, etc.), and burnt till morning, when the High Priest extinguished them and "dressed" them (Exodus 30:7).

Reve 1:12 And upon turning, I see seven golden lamp-stands/lucniaV <3087>

3087. luchnia lookh-nee'-ah from 3088; a lamp-stand (literally or figuratively):--candlestick.
3088. luchnos lookh'-nos from the base of 3022; a portable lamp or other illuminator (literally or figuratively):--candle, light.
G3087 matches the Greek λυχνία (lychnia), which occurs 12 times in 11 verses

Lampstand/s is mentioned in 3 of the 4 Gospels and 1 time in Hebrews.

Matt 5:15
Nor do they light a lamp/candle and put it under a basket, but upon the lampstand,
and it gives light to all those in the house
.
Mark 21:15
He also said to them, "Is a lamp/candle brought in to be put under a basket or under a bed? Isn't it to be put on a lampstand?
Luke 8:16
"No one, after lighting a candle, covers it with a basket or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand so that those who come in may see its light.
Luke 11:33
But no one having lit a lamp/candle, sets it in secret, nor under the basket, but upon the lampstand that those entering in may see the light.
Hebrew 9:2
For there was a tabernacle prepared, the first, wherein were the lampstand, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the Holy place.

It is mentioned 6 times in Revelation, 1:12 and:

Reve 1:13
and in the midst of the seven lampstands, one like to a Son of Man, clothed to the foot, and girt round at the breast with a golden girdle,
Reve 1:20
The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven Assemblies, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
Reve 2:
1 To the messenger of the church in Ephesus write: These things says the One holding the seven stars in His right hand, walking in the midst of the seven golden lampstands.
5 remember, then, whence thou hast fallen, and reform, and the first works do; and if not, I come to thee quickly, and will remove thy lampstand from its place -- if thou mayest not reform;

Reve 11:4
These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the Lord of the land.

Revelation Chapter 1 Verses
White as wool snow
Reve 1:14

The yet head of Him and the hairs as white as wool, white as snow.
And the eyes of Him as a flame of fire.
Next we can look at the phrase "flame of fire". It occurs in just a few places in the Bible that I could find and I used a concordance to look at different Bible versions.

Reve 1:14 And the eyes of Him as a flame/flox<5395> of fire/puroV<4442>
kai oi ofqalmoi autou wV flox5395 puroV4442

It is used 4 times in the OT and 4 times in the NT. However Daniel 10:6 has flames/torches of fire.
#5395 only occurs 7 times in the NT [divine number]
G5395 matches the Greek φλόξ (phlox), which occurs 7 times in 7 verses

G4442
matches the Greek πῦρ (pyr), which occurs 74 times in 73 verses

Strong's Concordance with Hebrew and Greek Lexicon

Exodus 3:2
And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. [Acts 7:30]
Psalm 104:4
Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire. [Hebrews 1:7]
Isaiah 4:5
Then the LORD will create a cloud of smoke by day and a glowing flame of fire by night over the entire site of Mount Zion and over its assemblies. For there will be a canopy over all the glory,[fn]
Joel 2:5
As the noise of chariots, on the tops of the mountains they skip, As the noise of a flame of fire devouring stubble, As a mighty people set in array for battle

Bible versions use "torches/lamps" of fire in Dan 10:6

Daniel 10:6
and His body as a beryl, and His face as the appearance of lightning, and His eyes as lamps/torches<H3940> of fire, and His arms and his feet as the aspect of bright brass, and the voice of His words as the voice of a multitude.

Hebrew 1:7
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels winds, And his ministers a flame of fire:[Psalm 104:4]
Reve 1:14
His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;
Reve 2:18
And to the Messenger of the church in Thyatira write, "These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass":
Reve 19:12
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns.
He had[fn] a name written that no one knew except Himself
.

What really floored was the form of this word #5395, which is used in only 2 verses of the whole NT:
Luke 16:24 "Rich Man and Lazrus", and the "Flaming Bush" in Exodus 3:2. This is astounding!

Rich-man and Lazarus True story or Parable

Luke 16:24
and having cried, he said, "Father Abraham! deal kindly with me! and send Lazarus!
that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and may cool my tongue,
because I am pained in this flame/flogi<5395> [Acts 7:30]

Acts 7:30
and forty years having been fulfilled, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sinai a messenger of the Lord, in a flame/flogi<5395> of fire of a bush,

Revelation Chapter 1 Verses
furnace of fire/refine

Reve 1:15
and His feet are like burnished/lustrious copper, as in a furnace having been refined/fired-to fire;
and His voice is like the voice of many waters;
The phrase "voice/sound of many waters doesn't occur too many times in the Bible.
Mainly in the OT and in the NT book of Revelation.

Psalm 29:3
The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders; The LORD is over many waters
.
Psalm 93:4
Above the voices of many waters,
The mighty breakers of the sea, Jehovah on high is mighty
.

Ezekiel 1:24
When they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army; and when they stood still, they let down their wings.
Ezekiel 43:2
and behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the east.
And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory
.

The phrase "many waters" is used 4 times in the NT, all in Revelation:

Reve 1:15
His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;
Reve 14:2
And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps.
Reve 17:1
Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me,[fn] “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,
Reve 19:6
And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters
and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the[fn] Lord God Almighty reigns
!

Revelation 1:15 Commentaries: His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.

1:15 His voice as the sound (better, voice, as the same word--phone--is used twice, and translated first "voice" and then "sound" in our English version) of many waters.--Daniel described the voice of the Ancient of Days as the voice of a multitude (Daniel 10:6); but the voice of the multitude was in earlier Hebrew writings compared to the sound of the waves of the sea, which the voice of the Lord alone could subdue (Psalm 65:7; Psalm 93:4). This image the Evangelist adopts to describe the voice of Christ--strong and majestic, amid the Babel-sounds of earth. That voice, whose word stilled the sea, sounds as the waves of the sea, which St. John heard Him rebuke.......

1:15 And his voice as the sound of many waters - As the roar of the ocean, or of a cataract. Nothing could be a more sublime description of majesty and authority than to compare the voice of a speaker with the roar of the ocean. This comparison often occurs in the Scriptures. See Ezekiel 43:2, "And behold the glory of the God of Israel came from the east: and his voice was like the sound of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory." So Revelation 14:2; Revelation 19:6. Compare Ezekiel 1:24; Daniel 10:6.

I was looking for a site that might better explain the biblical meaning of "many waters" and found this one:.

A VOICE LIKE MANY WATERS, Rev. 1:15b

....In fact, Ezekiel 43:2 uses the same phrase to describe the voice of God. In addition, Ezekiel 1:24 expands on the idea when it describes the sound of the wings of the “living creatures” as being “like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army.” Revelation repeats the phrase in chapter 14:2 where a voice from heaven is heard “like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder.” In Revelation’s sister book, Daniel, chapter 10:6 again refers to “the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude.”....

One more thought on this topic: In Revelation 17:15 it mentions that waters represent “peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.” So if Jesus’ voice sounds like many waters, it might also suggest that He speaks in behalf of those multitudes, including those perhaps whose voices had been silenced by persecution or death, but had been His faithful followers. That could be the mercy side of the issue. But when He stands up for His people, it is an act of judgment against their oppressors. Some look to the judgment fearfully, even as God’s people. But note in Daniel 7, the chapter with a fascinating judgment scene, verse 22 says that “judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High”—that means they “win” and the judgment goes automatically against their prosecutors and oppressors.............

The important thing is not so much how His voice sounds, but that we respond positively to His voice calling to us............
