The writer of Hebrews wrote,
"[Do not forsake] the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but [exhort] one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:25

Paul wrote,
"And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;..." Ephesians 4:11-13

@davp , When it is time to step into such a ministry, God will send you via the leadership that He has placed over you.

Seems good sound advice, thank you!

I can tell you flat out that this "prophetess" was NOT hearing from God. God is plain and will tell it to you directly. It will not be confusing or obtuse. It will not be condemning. It will be encouraging (even if it is a word of correction or rebuke).

-had to look up obtuse, I learnt a new word, thanks for your reply brother, I don't mind God giving a condemning word to me, I believe he has used condemning words in the past with me to shake me to my senses, I wonder with these examples:

old testament -Isaiah 28:
18And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

-new testament Jude 1:
12These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they arewithout water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
God even sends sickness, death and even evil spirits upon a disobedient anointed followers whom don't yield to his instruction of repentance especially those whom destroy Gods work of saving many souls!
So I wonder if I can verify I have been saved by condemning words of the Lord. -all fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom! Peace and blessings be with you my friend.

Gee sorry brother, I did not communicate that last post well, please forgive me, I was trying to show a difference of opinion in a good fashion, and it has come across a total shipwreck! What you said a lot of mature Christian pastors have said many times! I think I let my bad experiences of a Church come through that would use grace as a free licence to sin, where the leadership was made up of back street tough boys whom had a mob mentality., and Lorded it over everyone else to the point corruption came into that church, and many with servant attitudes were used and abused and many lives shattered! I hope you took no personal offense to the way my response came across! Peace to you, and may God continue his great work in you.

There are hundreds if not thousands of Christian religions in the world, for one reason that people often allow themselves to let their opinions be confused with the Holy Spirit, and since my opinion is different then your opinion, two "doctrine" are then formed... soon two churches are formed, because disagreement. So the best option is to allow the Word of God to speak, and not men whose works are as dirty rags.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deuteronomy 18:18- I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

The entire point of God sending a Prophet is so God can put his words in their mouth, so the person can speak it plainly. The Father speaks to us all, but depending on what is going on in our life and how spiritual mature we are, we may not get his meaning. On top of that God has specifically create the gifts of the spirit, so each Christian has their own abilities in the Church of Christ and only by working together as the communion of the brotherhood can God's will be known.

So God will speak to a prophet, for example, instead of to the person. Some might take offense to this and think the Prophet is suggesting they do not speak to God, but that is pride. The other point is, the Prophet will most likely if listening to the Holy Spirit will tell you what God said. As there is no point in God sending her to you, but refusing to give you reason.

It is Written:

1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
1 Corinthians 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
James3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
James3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
James3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
James3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
James3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Now if we look at the Greek about wisdom here, it says it is 'pure, then peaceable, forbearing, yielding, full of mercy and of good fruits, not partial and not pretended'. If we take the Word's instruction on wisdom and match it with the story of your prophetess, will it line up?

Was her words pure? They spoke of protection and caution, perhaps pure.

Was her words peaceable? Not so much, it only created dispute as you wanted to know more but she guilt tripped your faith in saying if you asked for specifics you would be sinning against God.

Was her words forbearing and yielding? No, she refused to tell you why or how to fix it.

Was her words full of mercy and of good fruits? No, she did not give you a way to fix the problem and allowed you to continue in the sin that prevented you from being ready and so was not a good work (fruit) since it did not help you bring you closer to the Father.

Was her words Partial and pretended? Yes, she did not give you a way to fix it or become ready, or tell you what God is displeased about. It seems rather pretended, as she gave the impression she wanted to help you, but did not say how.

....the story of the Prophetess is like a man telling another "careful on the bridge ahead", but not also saying how the man saw a warning sign that fell on the ground saying 'Do not walk on bridge, ready to collapse'. Then the second man thanks the first, walks on the bridge being careful, but it did not help him since his weight which he could do nothing about broke the beams and he fell to his death.

Glory to God!!!

Just think about it though, she was given a word from God, but she can't tell you what it was because God commanded her not to. So her spiritual gift can't be used to edify the church like what we see in the Bible, it's like God gave her a secrete. What reason is there to belive a word from her mouth?
