The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. Been doing much better, coming out of a really bad depressive episode. Thank you to those who prayed for me.
Staying busy with gardening, exercising and volunteer work. So important to stay occupied.
Been waiting on the Lord in repentance and sorrow. Trying to remember and recognize all the small blessings He bestows, even when I don't appreciate them in my down times.
Our old man garage band is getting many offers to play again after a 3 month hiatus. It’s a lot of work for a bunch of old guys and gals but also a lot of fun and good for memory, coordination and concentration skills. I can use the money, too.

Oh yes. I too believe that it's about treating people right that you encounter, instead of forcing yourself to "earn" God's approval. It's a mindset. Not to say that people who go out of their way to do good things are doing it wrong, not at all, but if someone does it out of fear or compulsively, they will burn out and the joy of giving will cease to exist.

They've all gone to the beach but i stayed home too depressed to come. a pain been down all week and not sleeping much so fed up with myself at the moment. No energy or will to do anything.

Drugged myself out last night and slept most of the night. Consequently i feel much better than i did yesterday still exhausted from lack of sleep, all in all i got about 8 hours last night so that was greatest.

Feeling sad about a few things, it's my birthday tomorrow but it won't be the same. Probably going to church by myself again tomorrow, though I'm going to try and see if my brother's willing to go since he's actually off. I'll make it a special birthday request hehe. Poor kid really needs some hope, hasn't been to church in I don't know how long but I've been praying for him.
I'm also feeling his absence in my life. He (my ex) had started making special plans for me for my birthday, and I guess I got attached to the idea. Very sad I'll never see that through. I miss him so much...I hope he is well. I keep praying for him too.

Clever making me say things i didn't. Do you like Vegemite? i've grown to love it.
As a matter of fact i'm 6 foot 1 1/2 inches tall and was indeed strong and full of muscle when younger, but i did my back in at an early age as a bricklayer and walked around in agony for many years before that that healed a little. So i know a little about physical handicap and the discomfort and pain such can bring.

No, I haven't tried Vegemite. Can't really get them here where I live. I heard it tastes really salty.
Vegemite is much like solidified Maggi seasoning - very tasty on hot toast or with meats and cheese. Not that good just by itself but you get used to it the more you eat it. The amazing thing is that most Australian kids love Vegemite - all our Australian grand kids do, but the one from Canada pulls his nose up at it.
i was wondering where you got six foot 4 from. Some of the life savers on our beaches they look like your song describes. Good song by the way i remember it from when i first came to Australia.
i love Australia, it is a beautiful country. nicely tugged away in the pacific
