Jo Stafford was quite popular back in the 50s. She had a unique deep alto voice. This is one of her best. The melody is from Chopin's Etude Op.10, No.3. Very pretty song.

Ah

This guy went through a real tough journey and I find the lyrics inspiring for many who may have or may be going through what he went through with drugs addiction and substance abuse.
