Glorious Sadness:

This song is so beautiful. I remember first hearing a snippet of this song a few years ago on an ASPCA commercial, showing all of the sad dogs and cats that need homes and a lot of love. I remember, in particular, a little one-eyed dog they showed; so adorable and precious, and seemed to possess a special superpower to just melt the heart of anyone who sees him. It was about this time that I watched a program on Animal Planet (when I had satellite) where animals get rescued and hopefully nursed back to health and adopted out to loving homes. Sometimes the attempts are successful, and sometimes not. If I recall correctly, I believe that dog was featured (well, it looked like him, anyway), and if that was the same dog from the commercial, his story had a happy ending as a mother and daughter took him into their lives.

I don't want to venture too far off topic; it's just that it made me think of those commercials and that particular dog.

Here's the screenshot of this dog. Try looking this pic, then listening to the chorus of this song, paying special attention to the line "you are pulled from the wreckage". It is enough, in my opinion, to soften and warm the stoniest and coldest of hearts.

I know we're supposed to post secular songs, but I thought of this one as while the message is highly inspirational from the Christian perspective, this song gained popularity outside of Christian circles because of its universal message that though languages differ, we can all have love for one another. It's been a favorite of mine for years.

I don't really know much about this guy or his music, but i came across these songs on youtube recently and remember hearing them on the radio a few years ago and liking them. Can't vouch for any of his other music though because I haven't listened to it. Apparently this guy won American Idol in 2012 or something lol

Anyways, I think these 2 songs are pretty friendly and wholesome for secular music. And while they aren't explicitly Christian I think they even have some Christian themes/tones

And here's an uplifting hip-hop song I like with some Christian undertones, but isn't explicitly Christian

She is really good, but I like it even better when she is with her sister Anoushka Shankar. They both have their dad's raw musical talent.

New guy, first post here. I know Gabriel seems to be singing about a woman, and most likely is, but some of the lyrics I can relate back to my relationship with Jesus.

(In your eyes) I am complete
(In your eyes) I see the doorway to a thousand churches
(In your eyes) The resolution
(In your eyes) Of all the fruitless searches

Does anyone remember how big this was in 1984 on MTV? It's had 86 million views on you tube. The girl he dances with at the end was a model but she didn't know he was going to pick her; so her reaction was genuine;
