Depends on the vibe of the soft ambient music, mainly. Soft ambient music can get very eerie sometimes.

Maybe it has something to do with, though there are many things I would never recommend we just depend on feelings to figure out, I think like the OP, I just got uncomfortable with some things, and I ended up listening to those feelings. As to Pop christian music, I never really got into it, and maybe that's because it didn't feel right...those feelings again that I hate to depend on...but maybe that's just how some things work. Since Christian music is a copy of the worlds music, and we are supposed to separate out selves from the world, maybe that's how the problem sometimes takes care of itself...with feelings.

I wish all sin were that easy to deal with, as in we just stop it without really trying because it didn't feel right. Or it just kind of took care of itself subconsciously with no real effort on our part..

Anyway, just some thoughts, nothing really concrete at all.

Despite my love for Christian metal, I get spiritually tired pretty quickly.

I didn't get a 'works-based religion' vibe from Christian metal actually. I got a particularly intense vibe, in which my flesh revels in the intense things, but my spirit feels choked.

Most of the time it's demons / unclean spirits messing with people. Especially if it's against their own will. Before The Great Flood fallen angels had children with human women. 1. The reality of Hell.
2. The final Judgment.

He sows discord. That's exactly what faultfinding based on imagery which is open to interpretation does.

You expose deceivers by exposing actual sinful deeds and false teachings, not by taking an eye wink and twisting that into a surefire sign of evil. The former is good, the latter is evil.
