Since I'm not obligated to that covenant I can't sin against it.
The problem is that gentiles never were "under the law". How could we suddenly morph to be under the Sinai covenant given only to the nation of Israel. It just does not make any sense.
The Sinai covenant was not a covenant that gave eternal life if it was kept. I keep referring all of you to EX 19:5-6. 5 Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. 6 And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’ This is the message you must give to the people of Israel.” Again, it was impossible for that covenant to give one Israelite eternal life. Had Israel not sinned they would still be in the chosen land under the same Sinai covenant. The covenant was an everlasting covenant IF one of the parties involved had not broken it. As we all can plainly see that was not the route the plan of salvation, made before the foundation of the Earth, was to go. Anyone who thumps the Sinai covenant or its parts are not telling us the real truth.
In Galatians 3 where Paul uses schoolmaster for law, he used the term "we" as meaning Jews. He was addressing Judaizers that had infiltrated the Galatian community. The gentile Galatians never had the schoolmaster covenant as the tool that made them realize their sins. The Sinai covenant was being forced upon them by those Judaizers and it was the Judaizers that Paul was addressing. This bit of knowledge changes the whole picture. Gentiles were never under the schoolmaster law.
We can’t just pick a Covenant you know. The Old Coveenant was never open to Gentiles so I’m not sure why you are preaching Old Covenant as a choice. It is not.It is true you are not "UNDER THE LAW" if you have REPENTED, CONFESSED, FORSAKEN your SINS and BELIEVE God's promise of FORGIVENESS (Prov 28:13; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 1 John 1:9) but if you are still practicing KNOWN UNREPETNANT SIN then you are still "UNDER THE LAW" and guilty of SIN (breaking God's LAW).
NUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.
You are only "UNDER THE LAW" and stand guilty before God if you have broken it.
who believe> ARE COUNTED FOR THE SEED (Romans 9:6).
FOR HE IS NOT A JEW WHICH IS ONE OUTWARDLY; NEITHER IS THAT CIRCUMCISION, WHICH IS OUTWARDS IN THE FLESH: BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; and CIRCUMCISION IS OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT, AND NOT IN THE LETTER; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29)
God's Israel...............
Galatians 3:28-29,
THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Colossians 3:11,
WHERE THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
Romans 10:11-13,
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. FOR THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JEW OR GREEK: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.
Romans 2:28-29,
FOR HE IS NOT A JEW WHICH IS ONE OUTWARDLY; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY ; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
The New Covenant is for God's Israel..........
Jeremiah 31:33-4,
BUT THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL; After those days, says the LORD, I WILL PUT MY LAW IN THEIR INWARD PARTS,AND WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Hebrews 8:10-12,
BUT THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL; After those days, says the LORD, I WILL PUT MY LAW IN THEIR INWARD PARTS, AND WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more
Galatians 3:29,
AND IF YOU BE CHRISTS THEN YOU ARE ABRAHAMS SEED AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE.
The New Covenant is for God's Israel which represent those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God’s WORD. If you are not part of God's Israel you are not part of the New Covenant (Hebrews 8:10-12). God's Israel are those that believe the Word of God and follow it and is why Jesus says If you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15)
................
SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)
Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.
................
God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)
Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)
There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.
Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?
In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).
We are not ‘under the Law’ because of sin as you say. That’s not how a Covenant works.I think the misunderstanding here for some is they do not KNOW what SIN is because they think God's LAW (10 Commandments) has been ABOLISHED.
Let's see how God's WORD defines what SIN is....
WHAT IS SIN?
James 2
8, If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well:
9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, YOU ARE BECOME A TRANSGRESSOR OF GOD'S LAW
James is pretty clear if we brake ANY of God's Law (10 commandments) then we are a TRANSGRESSOR of God's LAW
links to...........
1 John 3
4 Whosoever commits SIN transgresses also the law: for SIN is the transgression of the law.
John is in agreement with James and states that if we TRANSGRESS God's LAW then we commit SIN because SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF GOD'S LAW. So it is very clear that SIN is breaking ANY of God's LAW (10 commandments)
Links to...........
Romans 7
7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known SIN, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Well here we have Paul in agreement with James and John also telling us that SIN is breaking God's commandments and uses the 10th commandment as an example of breaking any of God's LAW (10 commandments) = SIN (Exodus 20:17)
Links to............
Romans 3
20, Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN.
Once again Paul is in agreement with John and James which all agree together that if we break any of God's LAW (10 commandments) we commit SIN because as James, John and Paul all agree together that SIN is breaking ANY of God's 10 commandments.
God's Word is in disagreement with you my friend. SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (10 commandments)
God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)
There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.
Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)
If you break ANY of God's Commandments you stand guilty before GOD (breaking God's LAW) and are "UNDER THE LAW" because you have SINNED and broken it
Hope this is helpful ...
What is the royal law? It is love your neighbor. Any time Jesus was asked which commandments to follow he said those last 6 commandments. Haven't you ever asked yourself why he didn't say anything about keeping the Sabbath? (Nor in James?)
In fact, Jesus broke the Sabbath any time He could. Why? He said to him after He healed him to TALK UP HIS BED and walk. Another time He and his disciples WORKED in a corn field shucking some corn to eat. Why? WHY did Jesus take every opportunity to break it, and yet we know He never sinned, though He lived under the law. It is because He is "Lord of the Sabbath." It is Him we follow, no longer the shadow.
It is Him we follow, no longer the shadow.
Therefore, John said "THIS IS HIS COMMANDMENTS"
1. To believe on the name of His Son, Jesus Christ (love God with all your heart)
2. Love your neighbor (the royal law)
We are not ‘under the Law’ because of sin as you say. That’s not how a Covenant works.
You do understand that the Old Covenant was made with a people group (ie Israelites/Hebrews from a specific race and birth line right)?
So now a bunch of Gentiles are going to become another race and dna birth line? Huh?
We can’t just pick a Covenant you know. The Old Coveenant was never open to Gentiles so I’m not sure why you are preaching Old Covenant as a choice. It is not.
It’s Christ or nothing.
Telling someone if they practice unrepentant sin they are under the Law is just wrong.
Your missing the scriptures on the two great Commandments in Matthew 22:26-40 which covers all of God's Commandments.
MATTHEW 22
[36] Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
[37], Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
[38], This is the first and great commandment.
[39], And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
[40], ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS
Jesus is quoting from Deut 6:5 and Lev 19:18 which are the two great commandments of LOVE that summarise all of God's LAW and the prophets.
Jesus NEVER broke the 4th Commandment or ANY of God's Commandments. If he did so he could NOT have been our perfect sacrifice and we would all be still in our SINS because he would only be able to pay the penalty for his OWN sins not the sins of the world
In the days of Jesus the religious teachers of the day had placed so many man made traditions around Sabbath keeping that it had become a burden to the people. It was though in their eyes MANKIND was made for the Sabbath. It was so bad in fact that these religious teachers were constantly looking for ways to accuse Jesus of breaking the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-2; 10; Mark 3:2'; Luke 6:1-2).
Jesus rebuked these religious teachers by saying that the Sabbath was made for MAN and NOT MAN for the SABBATH (Mark 2:27 and that he was the CREATOR or LORD of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28) and it was LAWFUL to do GOOD on the SABBATH (Matt 12:12)
Jesus did God's WORK on the Sabbath and so should we everyday but God's WORK is not the work we are commanded NOT to do on God's Sabbath for it is lawful to do GOOD on the Sabbath.
AS the scriptures say I desire mercy not sacrifice how much better is a man then a sheep? It is LAWFUL to do GOOD on the SABBATH.
Have you not read what David did, when he was hungry, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them who were with him, but only for the priests?
Or have you not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? How much then is a man better than a sheep?
Therefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
GOD'S 4TH COMMANDMENT
Exodus 20
8, Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
9, Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10, But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.
Doing GOD'S WORK is NOT what the 4th Commandment is talking about please read it.
God's 4th Commandments says we are NOT to do OUR OWN WORK. Yep NO secular bussiness or paid work, no uneccesary domestic work, no buying and selling, shopping. This can be done on the other days of the week. God has made the SEVENTH DAY a HOLY DAY and we are to REST in HIM by FAITH in the LORD of the SABBATH. This is the 4th Commandment and one of the God's 10.
You mix up your SHADOWS from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT with the ETERNAL LAWS of GOD that are the standard of the OLD and NEW COVENANTS and the JUDGMENT TO COME.
GOD’S SABBATH CANNOT BE A SHADOW IT IS A FINISHED WORK
What you have missed from GENESIS are some very important points which disagree with your interpretation of the scriptures. Let have a look at them again here...
Genesis 2
1, Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2, And ON THE SEVENTH DAY God ended his work which he had made; and he RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made.
3, And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, and SANCTIFIED IT <the 7th day>: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Some points to note from the scriptures...............
v1 God completed creation in 6 days and RESTED on the 7TH DAY
v2 God RESTED on the 7TH DAY
v3 God SET APART the 7TH DAY and made THE 7TH DAY a HOLY DAY
v2 The 7TH DAY is part of the FINISHED WORK of the CREATION WEEK
Once again Genesis 2:1-3 supports Exodus 20:8-11 that the Sabbath is referring to the 7TH DAY OF THE WEEK not only a REST but the REST IS LINKED to the 7TH DAY which was part of the FINISHED WORK OF THE CREATION WEEK.
Questions:
Q. When the SABBATH was made was it an UNFINISHED WORK OR A FINISHED WORK?
A. v2 FINISHED WORK. If it is it part of a FINISHED WORK then it cannot be a SHADOW OF ANYTHING because it is a FINISHED WORK!
Q. Was the Sabbath made BEFORE or AFTER SIN entered into the WORLD?
A. GENESIS 3 = THE SABBATH WAS MADE BEFORE SIN entered the WORLD. If it was made BEFORE SIN in a PERFECT CREATION in Harmony with GOD BEFORE SIN then it is not part of the PLAN of SALVATION so not a SHADOW of ANYTHING THEREFORE cannot be done away with and is not a part of something more then what it represents and that is God's as the CREATOR and GOD's CREATION.
This is where everything in your posting falls to pieces and the scriptures quoted in your post do not support your post because UNLIKE the MOSAIC book of the COVENANT God's SABBATH was made BEFORE SIN entered the WORLD and BEFORE a need for God's PLAN of salvation to which the SHADOWS pointed so cannot be a SHADOW of anything except for that which is was made, a memorial of CREATRION and the CREATOR.
MORE SCRIPTURE please see posts # 268 linked; as well as post # 295 linked and more scriptures linked
John also said SIN is breaking God's Commandments and those that do so do not KNOW God and are not FOLLOWING God and this was the key factor between who God's people are and those who follow the devil which is the CONTEXT the scriptures in the same chapter (1 John 3:3-15)
................
SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Hi ToBeLoved, nice to meet you.
but if you are still practicing KNOWN UNREPETNANT SIN then you are still "UNDER THE LAW" and guilty of SIN (breaking God's LAW).
You are preaching that people can still be under the Old Covenant if they have unrepentant sin.I am not preaching OLD Covenant. I am am only sharing God's WORD on the NEW. Many do not understand the NEW Covenant because they do not understand the OLD.
What is the particular verse for this statement.
You tell em Lady. I like that statement. They tell us we have to 'keep' the Sabbath and they never have done what they preach. If one had to keep the Sabbath which the SDAs claim then no one would inherit eternal life.I don't believe in keeping Sunday as a law. Some do, I don't. And I don't care if you keep Friday night and Saturday. If you believe it is still law, then don't break it. Walk to church, etc., etc., etc.
Amen! What is the royal law? It is love your neighbor. Any time Jesus was asked which commandments to follow he said those last 6 commandments. I am sorry LGW, you are not "listening". Gentiles were never subject to the laws given only to Israel. How hard is that to understand? It is your mistaken belief that somehow they were. It is also your mistaken belief that Christians sin against the Israelite Sabbath because we do not follow your prescribed belief system. It is your mistaken belief that Christians are somehow subject to a covenant that ceases to exist. You really do not have the privilege to believe in Jesus and the Sinai covenant at the same time. Jews may think they are still under the Sinai covenant, but when they crucified Jesus they had no idea that in doing in that Jesus ratified a new and better covenant for all of mankind. They had no idea their covenant ended until 70 years later. Still there are some,Jews and gentiles, that will not recognize that Messiah has come, ushered in the new and better covenant and we all, Jew and Gentile, come to Jesus on our knees the same way, asking for forgiveness and eternal life.It is true you are not "UNDER THE LAW" if you have REPENTED, CONFESSED, FORSAKEN your SINS and BELIEVE God's promise of FORGIVENESS (Prov 28:13; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 1 John 1:9) but if you are still practicing KNOWN UNREPETNANT SIN then you are still "UNDER THE LAW" and guilty of SIN (breaking God's LAW).

Now back to a previous post I made in revealing that your belief does not pair with the church you belong to. You, at least, stated you do not believe the Sabbath is a salvational issue. That would be a heretical offence. Going against the will and written word of the prophet is not lightly taken in the SDA church. How do you reconcile your belief and why would you stay in a church that tells you they are the "remnant" when they are not telling you the truth as you know it to be? Shouldn't you be speaking out with the real truth to all the other SDAs on the board just as I do telling them Ellen was a false prophet. She made a very serious "mistake" to put it lightly.
What is the particular verse for this statement.
Romans 3:19-20
I already said:
Therefore, John said "THIS IS HIS COMMANDMENTS"
1. To believe on the name of His Son, Jesus Christ (love God with all your heart)
2. Love your neighbor (the royal law)
I didn't miss anything.
You are preaching that people can still be under the Old Covenant if they have unrepentant sin.
That is certainly preaching the Old Covenant. Unless
They are Hebrew this is most impossible.
