Post # 106 explains my “attitude”.

If not being specific on what you mean is your way of saying you have no reply, that's up to you, but if you wanted me to know, you'd just say it instead of playing games.

Either tell me specifically or don't waste our time.

The evasion tactics around here are of an interesting, entertaining variety. :)

Post #106 explains I have no patience for self righteous verbiage that places humanity on par with God as Co-Savior.

Isaiah 43:11
Luke 2:11

Either you are a sinner in perpetual need of our Lord, God and Savior or you declare yourself well and co- Savior.

No evasion.

All blessings to you.

Alcohol is allowed by God, and best I can tell, and I already explained why, any other drug is not...it's sorcery. If you don't agree with my reasoning, that of course is up to you, but there it is nonetheless. :)
In the bible, they spoke of wine, not heavy Liquor and the purposes of the 2 are very different.

Guess scriptures also speak of the Fruit of the spirit is self control, so I guess that could apply to getting drunk or taking prescription pills to get high, using weed to get high or anything to get high.

What are you talking about, Co-savior? How can that be? :) Is this another, "we don't have to be obedient to God" excuse? and can I ask where you picked up on this one?

Maybe we can just cut to the chase here in order to speed things up. Just so I know where you're at, 1) Do you think once saved we can live in sin, as in fornication for instance, like living with your spouse, without repenting/continuously, and still get to heaven heaven?

2)Do you think we can make it to heaven once saved by also not doing any good works, as in helping those in need?

The first has to do with sin, the second, good works, but I think both are in line with the subject we are discussing, unless you mean something else by "co-savior"

They spoke of "strong drink" a few times..even wine *and* strong drink, meaning they were definitely 2 different things, and all I could figure is that was liquor, but maybe not.

Anyone know what "strong drink" could have meant if it wasn't wine?

It could have been beer, which was well-known and liked among the ancient Egyptians and Babylonians as far back as 3400 BC.

Could be, it's pretty simple to make, as opposed to liquor,
I just wan't aware it could be that strong as opposed to wine...maybe.

Could be a matter of how it was typically consumed. We know that wine was often cut with water...maybe beer never was (that would be pretty nasty).

Also, the alcoholic content of wine can be increased by leaving the grapes to ripen longer...but the longer they're on the vine beyond first ripening, the less the yield (rot, insects, et cetera). A wealthy vintner could afford to do that--and sell to wealthy patrons.

But even bad beer has a decently high alcohol level.

I'm going to look into this when I get a chance to see what they had available in those days. Guess I'm interested mainly if they had the technology to even make liquor, and if not, when did the first still come around?

Obedience to God... interesting term... The Bible says all are condemned by the Law under disobedience (Galatians 3).. and Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it clear... along with Romans 4, 1 Corinthians 13 and James 2 that works spoken of are works of a cheerful heart that the Holy Spirit does through us.

If your talking about works of worldly... churchianity and socialite style... those are worthless in God’s eyes.

Even the world condemns political figures for adultery... and according to Jesus... Adultery and fornication start in the heart and count as sin there... (Sermon on the mount)...

My point...?

You go on to talk about living in sin.

The sin of the world is unbelief... while all humans but Jesus Christ ... Who is also God... are perpetually imperfect until Ressurection... post death... in other words... if you think you sin no more... by the Condemnation of the Law... you are calling God a liar.

Your very way of speaking and questioning is a trap to condemn me by your misunderstanding of verbiage you are using.

Can you cast stones... that assure YOU are without sin? Even the Pharisees weren’t ignorant of their failures... enough to do that!

:)

Co Savior... your works plus Jesus save you?

Or Jesus alone?

I don't see one word about getting "high" in the bible.
We are told to avoid excess alcohol because it "leads to debauchery"
so the debauchery is the problem. Besides, sugar and caffeine gets you "high" but the churches not only fail to warn us about those substances, but fill the tables with them at virtually every meeting.

We all know that excess alcohol lowers ones inhibitions. They do not have the same level of control as when sober. You lose motor functions and are emotionally impaired as well as physically.
From what I know cannabis has the opposite effect. I suppose some people react differently when its used in excess, so it should be treated the same as anything else if one feels it is ok for them.

Even Paul said that it is not what one puts INTO their body that makes them unclean, but rather what comes OUT from the heart".

IOW... you judge by THE FLESH...

The Son of Man came in Grace and Truth... and Judged no Man... but came to SAVE...

You say... DO...

Jesus Said; Done / Finished!

You curb the meaning of scripture to relegate to a set of Laws that save or condemn...

I say... TO GOD “Jesus”... Be ALL GLORY, Forever and Ever...

Amen

And... You are welcome the same... ;)

Darn it, you made me look...and still no answer to such a simple question. But don't worry about it, I understand....If you answer you have to say something that we all know in out hearts is ridiculous. Besides, you won't be the first to avoid answering.

Thanks for the dance. :)

You’re welcome for the dance...

Sometimes... you can box people in with carnal logic...

As hard as it is to do to me... imagine how difficult it is to attempt to box God in. That One is impossible to box in.

All blessings in Christ Jesus, our Lord God, to you...

Is it wrong for a Christian to be a homosexual if it is legal where they live?
Medicinal cannabis and its derivatives are safer than many "legal" pharmaceuticals;I believe it is immoral to withhold it. Underlying problems are deceit and greed.

Most of the whole debate of weed is wrong came from the fact that it was illegal in most of this country for the longest, so when people in church would say they use it, they would get the trashing and hear they doing illegal activities and that is wrong.

Now that some states have it legal to use, is it wrong for a Christian to smoke weed. Ive come across youtube videos and see people on their social media pages that brag about doing it and brag about their faith too in other posts, but its technically legal in their state, so no different than smoking a cigarette in their eyes im guessing. I dont smoke anything or ever plan to, but im sure I will be accused of judging if I told another believer not to.

So is it wrong for Christians to use marijuana if they live in a legal state or should they not be using it at all (recreational use wise)?

Depends why they use it. In my country they are just making it legal for medical purposes, mainly to cope with pain and can only be obtained with a doctor's prescription. That is no different to using an over the counter painkiller.

If however it is used to give you a high or try and avoid reality, definitely not.

I don't believe the Lord wants us high on drugs.
In that case, you should not be drinking any alcohol in any amount. Say good by to coffee, tea and most soda pop as well since they all contain caffeine which is a drug

Yeshua said that not Paul
Matthew 15:11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”
Mark 7:15
There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.”
