I just found out that Liberians are being deported. Luckily I was born here. But my mom was not. Even if she doesn't get deported, I feel bad that Liberians are being deported. We were dragged here as slaves, then went back with home to start a new, that blew up in our faces with a war, we came back, and now we're being kicked out again. It's like we have no home to call our own. My friend was laughing about it and said it was ironic. I said my mom might get deported and he said hooray!

I feel like if God loved us, he would simply show his face. Why is that so impossible? It would take one second. Jesus told Doubting Thomas that those who hadn't seen him and still believe would be happier. I would glad trade knowing the truth and being happy in heaven for being depressed and being happier--80 years from now. Again, I feel like if God loved us, he would show up. I at least want to know what Jesus looked like.

I feel like if God loved us, he would just leave us here to suffer and be miserable. He wouldn't leave us at the mercy of insensitive jerks like my friend.

The early church suffered much persecution even to the point of the physical loss of life. Being deported is a type of persecution/loss. In life there may be things that are unfair, that involve loss. Paul even when beaten, and abused, was able to say "in all things I have learned contentment". He may have found it hard in the beginning, but yet he learned to be content in all circumstances. Although your situation is unfair, falling into the trap of complaint, and worry, will make you no happier. David said of those like you who love the LORD that they can even turn the valley of bitterness into praise. Thank God that you are saved, and on your way to heaven, regardless of where your temporary abode may be.

A person who believes in Jesus Christ knows that the good things they do cannot get them to heaven. They also know a true believer cannot lose eternal life. Jesus did not have a place to rest His head. A true believer has joy in experiencing Gods presence when they interact with other believers. They also have joy when they witness to non-believers. A believer should focus their mind on excellent things and should be concerned with eternal matters. They should be joyful when they are persecuted. There is a reason for the suffering believers go through. God is just.
