I believe the resurrection happens in each of us individually when we hear His voice....
Why then would Paul be talking about the resurrection as forthcoming? Paul heard Jesus's voice on the road to Damascus. Paul said of the resurrection...

1Corinthians 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

If a person is in Christ whether physically dead, or alive at the time - that person will receive a incorruptible eternal body. Hasn't happen yet.

But soon, considering the parable of a fig tree in Matthew 24.

How do you know this? What evidence is there?

Thanks!

God told me.

However, this is all extremely hard to believe, I am aware of. So normally I keep my mouth shut. I do ask that if you do not believe me - which is no sin - please remain polite.

You will get evidence sooner or later. I am not the Father, only the Father can work miracles.

Sometimes our Father wants us to wait for further evidence.

Your belief should have some biblical evidence in the way of verses to support it, shouldn't it?

By this I mean his body had not decayed to any significant degree.
When flesh starts the decaying process there are visible signs of it happening , also there is a wretched smell that is associated with decaying flesh , Jesus entered into the house where the doors were locked -without the doors being unlocked or opened , he then told Thomas to put his fingers into Jesus wounds to prove that it is indeed the same Jesus that was beaten horribly with 40 stripes of the barbed whip that he was beaten with causing his flesh to be torn up . Thomas believed it was Jesus once he touched and seen the wounds on Jesus body - if there were any decaying process started at all the whole house of people would have noticed , there was at least 500 more people that seen Jesus after his resurrection it is certain there was no decaying at all

Why would you say such things if you have no intention of saying how you can prove this - it would be better not to say if you refuse to say how you can prove it

This we already know

Unlike Lazarus and the other dead brought back to life, Jesus when He appeared after His resurrection was not recognizable as Himself by His followers, immediately...

Luke 24:
12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.

13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.

14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

_______________________________________________________

This is where Christianity began....

Luke 24:
And he took it, and did eat before them.

44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
________________________________________________________

Can you imagine how they felt, the disciples went from disappointment to eternal life, understanding the scriptures, to becoming apostles.

You actually think that God would have to have their their agreement ?

I suppose he could act all dictator like and impersonal but I'm guessing the that as God is a God of love he would seek their agreement.

we don't know if she was unconscious or actually dead , but certainly not buried in the ground for any length of time

Maybe she was unconscious but Lazarus and the girl from the balcony were not, they were dead. As you said at the end of post #28 Dead is dead. Lazarus and the girl were both dead but they were brought back to life, they were resurrected but only with their normal bodies.
They would have died again.

Here is a case, just like for Elijah & Enoch, where God can waive the rules, he is the rule maker and sovereign after all so He can waive the rules under special circumstances. That does not mean he does anything wrong or unjustified.

In John 21:22 Jesus says this to a question form one of his disciples:
When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” 22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you? You follow Me!”

So here Jesus is basically saying "If I want to give someone else special treatment who are to to question me??" You do what you have been asked to do.

The clear implication is that God & Jesus have the authority to waive the rules that apply to everyone if they see fit to do so due to special circumstances. There is nothing strange about that.

God can give someone special treatment, like resurrecting Lazarus & the girl to continue to live normal lives and to die again. This is benefiting them, going the extra mile for them and it is Gods prerogative to do so just like Jesus said in the passage John 21:22.

Oh for crying out load, read the posts carefully!! Any decay that Jesus body may have suffered whilst dead was completely and fully reversed when his body was resurrected and transformed into the new body.

I mean, its going to be that way for the rest of us, right?? or do you suppose that we are going to look like zombies with bits of our bodies hanging off as most of us will have decayed a lot, lot more than Jesus ever did. All this decay has to be reversed right!! So it was the same with whatever tiny decay Jesus's body may have experienced in the tomb.

you are all over the place - first you say when Jesus was resurrected that his body was " pretty much intact" supposing that it was not all intact as if something was wrong with it
Then I laughed and pointed in out to you -
then you said " By this I mean his body had not decayed to any significant degree."

Saying that Jesus body had suffered some degree of decay - and when I point out that would not be true then you say "Any decay that Jesus body may have suffered whilst dead was completely and fully reversed when his body was resurrected"
You cannot support that at any time Jesus body suffered any decay ,
When did his body suffer decay ? was it before he went down into Abraham's bosom ? or after ?
This is the problem when only a portion of scripture is considered.
It would show that Jesus had the new body when he was resurrected

Stop making mountains out of mole hills.
Jesus mortal body was in the tomb for 3 days. I'm not a medical doctor but as soon as your cells are no longer getting oxygen then the process of decay starts. See this web page, 2nd paragraph after title 'Self Digestion' 'This is what happens after you die'.

Its probably fair to say that after 3 days there is little change visible to the naked eye even though internally stuff is happening.
All I'm saying is that if Jesus mortal body decayed to the extent that it could in 3 days then that decay, whatever it was, was fully reversed at his resurrection. You can not say that that is not what happened, you don't know.
It is also possible that his body was miraculously preserved so no decay took place but I don't see why that should be the case.
I'm sure God can more than deal with 3 days worth of decay.

I don't buy the argument that God is going to reassemble our bodies from the scattered atoms that used to be part of it.
But if someone has just recently died then it makes perfect sense to work with that body and bring it back to life, ie repair it and transform it.

I don't have such a pedantic view of these details, how God accomplishes the resurrection is much less important than the fact it is accomplished.

When did his body suffer decay ? was it before he went down into Abraham's bosom ? or after ?

What Jesus did while in spirit during the 3 days his body was in the tomb has no bearing on this discussion.
His body was wrapped in cloth inside the tomb for 3 days during which time it would have experienced the minor decay that any human body does in 3 days. Then at the resurrection his body's decay was fully reversed and transformed into the new body.

According to your argument this is what God is going to do to each one of us so I don't know why you have such an issue with it. Unless we die within 3 days of Jesus return, our bodies are going to experience much more decay that all has to be reversed.

You have totally disregarded that Jesus Is God in form of flesh for the purpose of shedding His innocent blood for us , He didn't just lay in the tomb for three days , just as he commanded His spirit to leave his body on the cross , he took his body from the tomb , - you miss the point I made at the beginning - When Jesus was resurrected he did not have any decay at all - he was in perfect condition -
Whatever decay if it happened is a moot point because there was no decay when he rose from the grave

So you are saying that his body was not in the tomb for 3 days?
Scripture say his body was gone when they opened the tomb , Jesus said he would rise on the third day , Jesus could lay his hands on people and cause the lame to walk the blind to see the deaf to hear , what evidence is there that Jesus body lay in the tomb for 3 days ?
unlike us who have to wait until Jesus calls us out to the resurrection
HE IS the resurrection he does not need anyone else to make it happen

Does he collect the atoms of people who were cremated etc - doubtful as we don't know His process , but he has what He needs to make it happen and do it in a way that we will recognize and still know each other ,

Right here, baby, right here. And it has already started.

But, where do you think it happens?
What you need to do is make a bath and measure the water level. Hop in and measure the displacement. That's where it happens.
