I've lived in Texas all my life. Here, I've been mocked, cursed at, and generally verbally persecuted for being a Christian.
Seems odd doesn't it, people in other countries think of and call us a "Christian nation", but those of us living here know better. It's even difficult to get along with other Christians. Take heart though, you're not alone, and consider it evidence of your faith. I've dealt with the same without even verbally expressing the faith. Somehow they figure it out without me saying a word. Take heart, in the Scriptures Christ told his disciples what the cost would be, and since we're still breathing I suppose we should consider it a blessing.
But for some bizarre reason, I have been condemned as a blasphemous heretic for not liking my time here in Texas. The people who have condemned me live in Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and other states.
People without much struggle and difficulties in their living situations and life, can hardly relate to those that do. They think simple answers with simple solutions can solve complicated issues, but guess what? They wrong, they know not of what they speak, they are not in the know.
The fact that those who condemn me do so out of total ignorance makes me feel worse.
Cheer up, there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Consider this:
1 Cor 1:18 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;
23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,
24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men." (
NKJV)
