Death Note is an excellent and suspenseful anime, but it also focuses on murder and the ability to kill at will and what happens when someone gets that power. The character starts by only executing criminals he feels has escaped justice but he eventually becomes an egomaniac monster ("Light" the main character was always an egomaniac to begin with I think). I had problems with this myself, there were people that I wished dead, or that I felt the world would be better off without (to be honest, I thought that my world would be better off without them). I always justified my resentment or feelings towards them. If I had had a Death Note (a notebook you can write someone's name in and they die), I probably would have used it and become just like Light. Even though I never harmed anyone, I was harming myself. Eventually I became convicted that like Light, I had murder in my heart and repented.
1 John 3:15 helped me.
"Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer."
