I just heard from a sister who went to Zambia how the people there all believe in God & the bible but they just want someone to show them what it says! Get a bible out and you get mobbed!
The opposite happens in England.

2 assemblies started while they were there, 44 baptisms & infilled with the Holy Spirit & they spent the rest of the time visiting the 22 fellowships, teaching them basics on how to run meetings. They have a few cultural ideas about men not sitting with women, the women not being able to read & other gods etc, the report made me wish with I'd gone . . . but apparently we have 2 trips/year so I hope to be at the next one.

(you have to have injections and the diet is pretty basic .. chicken & rice, or chicken & rice . . though someone gave them a load of land to grow veg).

We think Africa is poor and with a poor standard of living & life expectancy - BUT look at it from God's perspective and WE live in a spiritually poor, dark country with all kinds of spiritual disease and death!!
(diseases:- hard-heartedness, willing ignorance, unbelief, selfishness, loving material things & silliness instead of wanting to know what God offers)

Ezekiel had the same:-
:3:5: For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;
. . . Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.
:7: But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.
:8: Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
:9: As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

I spent 11 years in mission work in Africa (Zaire, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Guinea).

 Praise God for your work there!! Can i ask why you left? It must have been very hard to leave... Africa changes you...

Have you ever been to Uganda? Thats where we went and are returning to, we were also thinking of going onto Rwanda, can you tell me anything about Rwanda? Are there any churches or organisations that i can check out there?

Thanks
Blessings

One is the general poverty of the African region generally - most Christians would not have much regular and easy access to internet. Those that do often have a lot more to do that go online to chat or discuss. Even in urban areas, poverty dictates that time be spent on survival, and for Christians, spreading the gospel. (One might say that for them, it is All Action No Talk :p.)
I completely agree with this.

After spending 3 months in Tanzania and being able to speak some swahili, I really do feel called towards mission in east Africa particularly. However, I know sometimes the best mission is that of prayer.

I really do want to go back

Got back from NW Zambia.
After 4 years there are already 800 in the church!
(spread out over 35 centres in different villages & towns)
It's like going back in time but the fewer distractions make people more open to God.

Similarly in DRC, Zimbabwe, Rwanda & Kenya.

I went in the dry season so avoided the mozzies.
