Most people just get more defensive if challenged.
It would not do a bit of good if I did. I would get defensive, then you would get more defensive, then I would get even more defensive than you. And on, and on, and on.

Today, I withdrew my 1st grade son from the public school system and put him in private school. He has high functioning autism and absolutely loves Jesus so much that he gets upset when it is not his turn to pray at dinner time. His favorite book is his children's Bible and he insists on reading it every day. All this, of course, before public school.

Over the last few months I began to notice that he wasn't as insistent on prayer and did not want to read bible stories. Finally, at dinner time, he told me that he didn't want to pray. So I asked him why, the answer shocked me.

It started around Christmas time when all the kids in class were talking about Santa and Frosty the Snowman. My son told his friends that Christmas was about Jesus and began to share the Gospel. As a result, he was punished by the administrators and he was told that he was being offensive.

Eventually, the other kids in the class started picking on him because he shared Bible stories. When we talked to the school they told us, "Well, if he would just stop talking about Jesus so much then the kids will stop picking on him."

I am absolutely furious that this has happened. So I immediately withdrew him from the public school system and enrolled him into a Christian private school. My question is, "Has anyone else had similar issues with the public school system attacking your child's faith?" If so, how did you handle it?

so sorry to hear this

may God be with your son.

anyway, this is only going to get worse. all signs are pointing to coming persecution

one thing you could do for your son is to help him memorize scripture passages, because he will need them.

TEACH your boy to be obedient to the instructors and stop talking about Jesus.
Don't pull him out of school.
You obviously were not balanced when you were sharing Jesus with him yourself.
This was your error, and now you want to punish him further by removing him from his class, his 'friends' and his issue you brought into his life. You did this. So, how are you going to handle it?
The stated purpose of this Forum is for prayer for persecuted Christians. You virulent attack on the OP says nothing about her, but a ton about you, dear.

Prayers sent in Jesus name in humbleness for strength, comfort and peace to rest on your family and others .. May your son become great indeed with victory in the name of the Lord , I'm proud of you and my new little 6yr old Christian friend for standing up .. Psalms 23

I'd advise all parents who try to do the right thing to prepare their kids for what they're probably going to see when they get thrown in the world and the few they will encounter , like we did and options they have .... I always met the teachers of my kids at least through 6th grade to check out where they're coming .. I was pleased when I moved to a small town in SC that all through school 1-12 there was at least a call to recite the pledge of allegiance over the intercoms led by the principals first thing that set a tone for the day . Folks were invited and welcome to speak Jesus with prayer to in school groups .. Amen for that .. My last kid graduated in 98 so I don't know if they still do it or not , but then it was taken serious and impressive .. God Bless ..

This is from the first page of this forum for Persecuted Christians, near the top, to the far left:

Persecuted Christians
Post New Thread

A forum to discuss the persecution of Christians
so that we may uphold them in prayer.

In addition the general rules for all forums here is that you show courtesy to other posters and don't make attacking remarks about them. I was not writing about myself, of course, but rising to the defense of another and asking that the rules be followed here.

I find it very saddening to see someone saying things to another poster, who is already feeling upset and distraught, like:

"TEACH your boy to be obedient to the instructors and stop talking about Jesus.
Don't pull him out of school.

I said the post was featured on the Home Page and there was no info that I was visiting a "prayer" or "persecuted Christians" forum.
If you want to keep up your attack I'm going to take it personally.

The info that this is a prayer forum is right where it is supposed to be. It is also called a forum for Persecuted Christians. It is obviously a place to support them, not heap on verbal abuse like "You obviously were not balanced....This was your fault...You did this."

Oh dear, whatever shall I do if you take my comments "personally"? I guess I'll survive somehow.

Still praying for you guys and if you get a chance tell us how he is doing in the new school? I hope he is enjoying it and has begun praying again.
I have thought about this thread a lot and I would like to just give him a hug and tell him that Jesus loves him.
I wanted to post and say God bless you for being parents that are raising your children with Godly principles and values. Bless you.

Wow. Really? Are you suggesting that I made a mistake to teach my child about Jesus?

Update: he absolutely loves his new school. He just about squealed when he found that two of his friends from church are in his class. He loves it and he is free to talk about Jesus.

That is awful to read, well done for getting your son out of there. State schools here in the UK are a mix of faith and secular, but to be honest unless its a strict faith school then most of the children will mock a bible loving fellow student regardless.

I myself am lucky that the primary (elementary) school that my son attends does teach Christian beliefs and my son has developed a natural interest in Jesus Christ even without me pushing him to. He is 5 years old at present and there are no problems thus far in his class, but who knows as he ages. In my experience the problems happen at Secondary school (High School), even the faith schools barely place emphasis on religion and many when they do, its ecumenical in teaching every known ideology going which I believe is a requirement from the department of education to all state schools. As for college and university, forget it, the forces that have taken them over are Satanic to the core.

I found out that private schools do not have to adhere to any state requirement, hence why Muslim and Jewish schools dont adhere - they are mostly all private. So in other words if you can afford a private Christian school then that is the main option you have in this warped Anglo-American domain. I cannot afford this, but I am along with my wife who suggested it, are seriously considering home schooling, certainly once my son gets to the end of primary school (elementary).

In all honesty, I think us Christians need to think long and hard about continuing to expose our children to such spirtually and ultimately emotionally destructive institutions anyway - private school or home school! May be even like minded Christians locally create a school much like the Jewish and Muslim communities do.

It seems state education across the age range and in many countries has been totally overrun by Satanic forces and so many lost souls are corrupted by such forces. I truly hope those lost souls find their way to Jesus Christ.

You certainly did the right thing, but you should not have had to undertake such an action in the first place. God bless you and your family.
