This song is so beautiful. I remember first hearing a snippet of this song a few years ago on an ASPCA commercial, showing all of the sad dogs and cats that need homes and a lot of love. I remember, in particular, a little one-eyed dog they showed; so adorable and precious, and seemed to possess a special superpower to just melt the heart of anyone who sees him. It was about this time that I watched a program on Animal Planet (when I had satellite) where animals get rescued and hopefully nursed back to health and adopted out to loving homes. Sometimes the attempts are successful, and sometimes not. If I recall correctly, I believe that dog was featured (well, it looked like him, anyway), and if that was the same dog from the commercial, his story had a happy ending as a mother and daughter took him into their lives.
I don't want to venture too far off topic; it's just that it made me think of those commercials and that particular dog.
Here's the screenshot of this dog. Try looking this pic, then listening to the chorus of this song, paying special attention to the line "you are pulled from the wreckage". It is enough, in my opinion, to soften and warm the stoniest and coldest of hearts.
