@HitchSlap - If it's physics,
Yes, it's physics.
why don't fish die in a fish bowl,
Sometimes they do.
or lizards in an aquarium? Why don't we die and get cooked to death in our houses?
Climate controlled to sustain life.

So, yes, a firmament dome enclosing the entire globe would create a greenhouse effect, and eventually raise temperatures unsustainable for life.

Do you have any photographs of the firmament greenhouse dome?

Ha.

He should have added, 'but you can't use GPS to get you there and back.'
Does GPS not work on a flat Earth?

You could always get to the edge without GPS. Just go in any direction until you reach the ice wall; getting back is the problem.

Why should we divide and assume the distribution is even?

Because we have to start somewhere. And because it's a conservative measure. We haven't taken account of the fact that the surface area is greater (being above the Earth), nor that satellites operate at all different altitudes.

Plus the hypothesis put forward in the video (that satellites are held up by balloons) simply doesn't work when you need a satellite pointed at a precise location rather than pushed around by air currents.

In fact, you don't even need to get on to Antarctica to "prove" flat earth - simply head out from a bunch of different locations - each track should come up against the ice wall at some point if it really did surround us.

Kind of, although it's many many miles beyond the ice wall that surrounds us. Possibly thousands of miles. Admiral Byrd's planes were crashing into an "invisible" force field they thought. They assumed the Nazis or the Russians put it there and invented it. I also have a picture from the thirties and some nuclear blasts that hit the dome.

I'll post them for you later. Keep in mind that God created the heaven and the earth, not a "beg" bang the requires 57 OTHER THEORIES to prop it up. One theory after another after another after another after another after another after another.

The earth and the firmament (cosmos) have a climate control system in place. Didn't you know, you live here after all? You can take your "theory" and toss it. It's ludicrous at best.

Invisible force fields, "beg" bang, and thermostats... ludicrous indeed.

What causes the trade winds, in a closed firmament dome hypothesis?

Probably some sort of big fan situation.

Good question, Slap. You see, the earth doesn't move, everything else does. God tells us the sun hastens back to the place where he arose. The sun and moon have circuits, like the wind and the rivers and seas. The earth has no circuit. The sun runs a race like a strong man, and the earth is a tabernacle for the sun. (Psalm 19), and God stopped the sun and moon for about a whole day (Joshua 10:13 KJV -), He never stopped the earth, because it doesn't move. There's more, much more. Read my thread.

Ecclesiastes 1:1-11 KJV -
The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.

2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

3 What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?

4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.

6 The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.

7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.

8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

Well, your choice of where to begin is a fail because it doesn't reflect reality and your assumption that a balloon cannot have assisting technology with it is primitive and bizarre.
I'm amazed you think you know what you are talking about, Trog buddy.

I saw some pretty cool simulated Antarctic ice through the windows on the way. And after I arrived, I saw some pretty cool simulated lions and wildebeest. And an entire simulated city of Johannesburg.

Oh, but the things they can do with CG these days, like make Sandra Bullock look like she's in space in the movie Gravity. Fake cities can be made with special effects too.
See, it's all fake! NASA is fake! Cities are fake! Your trip over Antarctica was part of a conspiracy by the airlines to make you think the earth is a ball hurtling through space! They have nothing better to do! :D

I really wish that NASA and all the rest would stop using a fish eye lens. I mean really... the right tool for the job, boys.

A fish eye lens will show curvature at 20 feet, 100 feet and 1000 feet....

So, trash the fish eye and lets get real......even on that tripe where the guy parachuted from space... All around... fish eye lenses.... EXCEPT, they messed up. The camera from inside his little capsule... when they open the door...looks out to a view with no curve. However, it is a very short piece of horizon.

slide_253592_1580928_free.jpg

Hardly a very good photo to prove what you're saying since the horizon is hardly even visible.

So supply your assumption, with calculations, and w'ell have a look at it.

As for the balloons, please tell us what assisting technology would allow a balloon to stay on station for years on end without refuelling. I could do with a laugh.

So they say, except I couldn't help notice that Patrick posted an image from one as the last image in post #731. Not sure how that's going to be explained.
EDIT: I just noticed the "balloon" theory.

Even a child's helium balloon comes back down after a short time after being released outdoors. Can you imagine the reliability problems people would have with satellite TV (and even cable, since it's satellite-based) if they relied on satellites lifted by giant balloons? The national weather service and GPS certainly couldn't rely on them that way.

Why would I want an inept amateur to look at anything?
You need a lot more than a laugh if you can't picture at least a zeppelin.
Try being condescending for a change. Everybody would love that.
Makes you look smarter when you put other people down.

Cranky people don't get a lot of people caring what they think.
