In the end there's a giant dragon that grants wishes if you collect all of his magic orbs, so I can see how someone might spin that to be Satanic. But he's really just a genie granting wishes. No one worships or serves him, or anything of the sort, so it's no worse than, say, Aladdin. After you get past the original Dragonball, it's really nothing more than a never ending fighting-tournament style anime anyways.

I like watching meme videos or listening to theme songs. Is the series or videos considered satanic or bad?

Of course not.

People who say "everything is Satanic!" are being paranoid.

...Usually because they don't understand what they're condemning.

As a kid I wasn't allowed to watch the cartoon "Dungeons & Dragons" because dragons = the Devil (according to my Mom).

As a teenager I wasn't supposed to watch the movie "The Crow" because crows = the Devil (according to my Mom).

Lesson learned: don't ask for permission to watch cool stuff.

The series has its own story of how everything was created and who the gods are and everything. It's entirely fictional and takes only a little bit of influence from Japanese mythology. If anyone wants to call that Satanic, then they must say the same about the Chronicles of Narnia and LOTR... Well I guess they don't have to, but then they'd be hypocrites.

What about Mr. Satan?

Christianity is as much a minority in Japan as Buddhism is a minority here in America.

A lot of the religious trappings you see in Japanese fiction are done by people who aren't actually Christian and so don't understand everything.

The character's full name is Hercules Satan, so I'm guessing that the creator intended for him to be seen as some sort of dangerous tough guy and grabbed the first two names that came to mind.

If you want a sillier example, look at "Machine Robo: Revenge of Chronos". A group of villains in the show are *literally* named "The Devil Satan 6".
