You cannot compare eating animals to having guns. God gave Adam dominance over all living creatures to, in other words, eat them. (Genesis 1:28) Also, we're humans and biologically, we need food to survive so I do agree with you that we need to kill animals to survive. My point is, however, how does that compare to using guns? Many people have been wishing for a banning/restriction on guns (which is another topic of discussion for another time) because so many innocent lives were taken away. They were available to people who shouldn't have had the guns in the first place.

Most importantly, we don't need guns to kill and stay alive. The first record of firearms date all the way back to 1364. That means for 1364+ years (counting years before Jesus), humans have survived without guns. So for you to say that guns are a necessity for survival, is seriously flawed.

Secondly, I do respect people who choose the vegan/vegetarian way of life. Many of them are fighting against animal cruelty in the slaughterhouse and the way people treat animals - which I think is a valid reason to choose not to eat animals. Genesis 9:3 says, "Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything." As you see here, God allowed us to eat animals. God didn't just create all the animals on this earth just for us to look at them and drool. He gave us permission to partake these animals to nourish our bodies. I think God understood that animals have nerve systems that make them feel pain. Therefore, it does not take away, or limit the right for others to kill/eat animals. We need to enjoy God's creation and that is one way of doing that.

Food is a necessity; Guns are a luxury. Those are 2 different things.

...............So things without a nervous system don't feel pain when they die. That would be plants and eggs. But things that have a nervous system do feel pain when we kill them, that would be animals. So the question I have is how do you feel about that?
I get my meat at the local market where it comes skinned and cut and wrapped with no nervous system to concern me.

It doesn't feel a thing - any more than the fried fish Jesus served on the sea shore did.

I feel good about that. My conscience is clear and it tastes really good - especially with a nice glass of wine.

A fine cigar and a Margarita will likely follow shortly and the Holy Spirit and I feel good about that as well.

I've heard in these forums that guns aren't OK, but yet we eat animals. In the sense of letting living creatures live I would have to say that killing your pets and eating them is evil. Not to be rude. But we use guns to kill and stay alive, and eating of animals is the same, we kill them and eat them to stay alive. Eat and live for another day. But we don't have to, we have beans and eggs and things that don't involve the killing of creatures that have a nervous system. So things without a nervous system don't feel pain when they die. That would be plants and eggs. But things that have a nervous system do feel pain when we kill them, that would be animals.

I do not eat as much meat these days for other reasons. The World Health Organization stated processed meat is a carcinogen and meat is probably carcinogenic:

Vegans are susceptible to vitamin B-12 deficiencies.

Jesus was born a Jew, the apostles were Jews, there are Jewish Christians to this day. You can not be superior to these Jews.

If I had to choose between starving and eating your puppy for dinner, I'd eat the dog.

I believe in guns because you have to let people know you are ready to kill them otherwise they will manipulate and use you. Some people will literally push you to the point of death unless they know they themselves are about to die. The best situation is when people know not to step out of line because they fear for their lives. That's why Iraq turned to chaos after Hussein was killed because he didn't play with those people, and when he was gone, there was nobody keeping peace.

That maybe true, but protecting self and killing innocent animals is different.

Dunno, I think guns are perfectly fine. They are mere tools to propel a metal object over a long distance. Yes, it can kill someone, but so can a spoon. It is the human behind it that is evil.

As for hunting, I think hunting is important. A lot of animals have no natural enemy right now, which would lead to overpopulation and destruction of the ecosystem. Trophy hunting is bad as it is a pure ego trip. Responsible hunting for the good of the environment glorifies God as it shows care and respect for the world He created for us.
Yes, it involves the death of animals. However, animals are not humans. They have no concept of life and death. This world is also finite, which means all material things will die to eventually give birth to new things.

Meat is also important for us. God designed the body is such a way that we could not survive as vegans/vegetarians. Haemoglobin relies on us having access to bivalent iron (Fe2+), which can only be “produced” by plant-eating animals. Plants themselves only have trivalent iron (Fe3+), which the human body can not use. We would simply have an oxygen shortage in out body if we only eat plants. Then there are some essential amino acids, which can only be found in animals.
We must eat meat, but we must not be gluttons, but exercise self control.

Shooting as a recreational sport at the range is also great, as it teaches you focus as well as reliance on God, as what happens after you pull the trigger is out of your hand, whereas God is in all things. Speaking as archer, I can relate.

In the end, God sent us into the world to subdue it. However, we must not misuse it, but instead glorify God in all that we do, be hunting, shooting or whatever. What is a far less pertinent question than why, in this case.

St. Paul says it is a matter of personal conscience that we shouldn't judge one another over. Romans 14:1-4

Jesus ate fish after he rose from the grave. He ate lamb at Passover. He probably ate fish and lamb and maybe beef too many times in his 30+ years and Jesus was without sin.

Guns are ok and eating meat is ok .

Luke 22:36
Acts 10:13-15

Most people who say against stuff like these are actually new age dogs and not Christians and they base thier understanding and moral values on TV rather than bible so it's best to ignore them .

In the new city coming down from heaven it clearly states fruit for meat:

Revelation:

{22:1} And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. {22:2} In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner] of fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations. {22:3} And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Yes, but Jesus ate fish after he rose from the grave and he ate lamb at Passover and he very likely ate fish, lamb, and maybe beef many times in his 30+ years on Earth. And he was without sin. Telling me what is written in Revelation and adding your own interpretation of it as a lesson on proper diet for people today hardly answers the information and implications of it that were in my post.

Not to be rude. I would say that only God the Father was without sin. Jesus clearly sinned as I have mentioned from the old testament that fruit and herb was good for meat.

Genesis:
{1:29} And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
