I haven't looked at any websites, but prayer is certainly Step 1. Prayer at Adoration is especially powerful, and with deep enough faith/will from God, I've actually had dialogue with Him and St. Michael.
Throughout the Bible, there's many instances where God speaks to someone very devoted to Him (Abraham, Moses, etc) and to people the most fiercly against Him (Saul). Ultimately, it's God's will if He allows this kind of direct conversation.
But like I said, it begins with prayer. There's numerous Bible verses on prayer, but one that comes to mind is James 5:16: "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." Build enough of a relationship with Him, give Him the chance, with silence & concentration, and if He wills it, you can communicate.

So I found many websites where It say a christian can communicate and ask questions Holy Spirit or some say higher self? Has anyone tried it and how does that work?
Hi Ovis, I'm curious, what is the definition of a "higher self"

Thanks!

1 Corinthians 2
12 We have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,
13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.
14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one.
16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.

It was in the Holy of Holies that God spoke to Moses. It is a place where he can speak to you as well!

21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel. - Exodus 25

I've received the Holy Spirit right after water baptism, but was baptized in the Holy Spirit 6 years later. You receive Him by simply asking Him into your life in prayer. Christ Himself received the Holy Spirit right after water baptism. Peace in Christ:).

Faith in the Resurrected Jesus as The Son of God brings us the Holy Spirit. To communicate with the Holy Spirit we first of all need faith in Jesus and secondly we need to know The Truth of His love. For The Spirit of God is The Spirit of the truth of the love of God towards us - so we need to know The Word of God's salvation to be able to discern the Spirit of God rightly.

As far as communicating we our 'higher self' is concerned, this should not be confused as communication with the Holy Spirit, but rather understand it is true us in the Holy Spirit, sanctified in Christ's blood and reborn - from Heaven - not from this earth. It is our life in the 144,000 chosen/elect selves ruling from Heaven. That which has been prepared by Christ from before the foundations of this world that we would walk in them. This self is resurrected to rule beside of Christ at the end of the great persecution. Revelation 20.

My experience is that we can be in an enlightened state and taste of this higher self in/with/through Christ, but we cannot take on this self for ourselves through our sinful ego. Rather, as we can read in the book of Revelation, in this self we are killed by our sinful/worldly self. (Isaiah 57:1-4)

We best remain humble therefore and not think we have reached our higher self serving Christ unless we see someone lovingly and humbly washing the feet of their brothers and sisters of course then one might conclude that such a person has seen and been touched by The Risen Christ.

Peace.

Forget about the higher self. There is no such critter.

As for communicating with the Holy Spirit (the Lord), just do it. Paul tells us to pray constantly.

So I found many websites where It say a christian can communicate and ask questions Holy Spirit or some say higher self? Has anyone tried it and how does that work?

When i was first saved i tried communicating with the Holy Spirit by listening for a voice/voices. For me it led to much confusion, and I know for certain that many of the things I "heard" came from Satan, or demons.

However God did communicate with me during that time, some of these experiences I have written down on a Website at Have you ever asked yourself about the existence of God

Today I rarely try to hear God's voice. I mainly spend my time reading the bible to gain an insight into what he wants generally. If you want to know God's voice I suggest asking Him to reveal Himself to you in a way you can cope with, and test. Something that you can be sure of. The website I listed above has some of the ways that I learned to communicate with God, in a semi trusted way.

I still use some of those methods today if I need it urgently.

So I found many websites where It say a christian can communicate and ask questions Holy Spirit or some say higher self? Has anyone tried it and how does that work?
So, it looks to me like your question is how to ask the Holy Spirit questions.

I would say ask the question, and trust God to answer the question when and how He pleases. You might need to mature more in order to be able to get the answer to a certain question. It is like how a child needs to develop to where he or she is able to understand certain things.

Also, there can be general answers. Certain questions might not need attention. It could be our attention, instead, needs to be to God and how He personally rules us in His peace >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

Every moment, our Heavenly Father wants us to submit to how He rules us in His own peace. He communicates by how He personally rules each of us in His own peace . . . how this peace has us becoming like Jesus and pleasing Him like Jesus is so pleasing to Him, and how this peace has us relating with people in God's own love . . . even if other people are not relating the way we are. Our example can be used by God to communicate with people, how they need to become.

Yes, He communicates with us by example. And we need how He does with us all which His words mean to Him. So, if He speaks to me, I need to submit to Him, for how He has me doing anything He means. And enjoy :) . . . after we get the correction > Hebrews 12:4-11.

Whenever I desperately need an answer from the Lord I ask Him about it, talk to Him about it and next I open the Bible and there in the exact page and the exact spot that my eyes fell upon is my answer!
