The universal gathering. Here the Kingdom is delivered up to the Father,
not counted among the tribes of Israel because the kingdom of priests
are not of that inheritance.
They are not fed crumbs because they have manna from heaven.

Prov 1:29, Isa 26:17
The honeyed sweetness of His lips comes first from the fear of the Lord.
Produced out of the strength of the Lion of Judah.
Beholding the kisses of revelation from the Word of God.

Song of Songs 1:2

Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth.
For your love is better than wine.

Prov 1:23

The highest Wisdom is phronesis.
Strong's Number G5428 Greek

It's found only once or twice in the NT

Luk 1:17
"He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah,
'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,'
and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just,
to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

Eph 1:8
which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

Eph 1:8 is suspect because it doesn't appear in my book form of Strongs concordence
as such but online it is listed in Stronges.
Just the one rendering of Lk 1:17 does appear in the book I have.

All the other meanings for wisdom are the Greek Sophia
__________________
My definition of intuition is knowledge to act w/o motive
(a higher form of instinct that comes instantly from God.
Use it or lose it)

But the official meaning is
Definition of INTUITION
1
: quick and ready insight
2
a : immediate apprehension or cognition
b : knowledge or conviction gained by intuition
c : the power or faculty of attaining to direct knowledge or
cognition without evident rational thought and inference

Origin of INTUITION
Middle English intuycyon, from Late Latin intuition-,
intuitio act of contemplating,
from Latin inturi to look at, contemplate, from in- + turi to look at
First Known Use: 15th century

phronesis = God with us, leading in the Holy Spirit (which is Sophia)
thru our human spirit connected in obedience, with no human motive.
Those are actions that promote His economy in the world.
In this He uses whosoever He wills.
An aquired knowledge that lacks self motive and desires that results in
action that are given at the last moment from the Holy Spirit.
A higher form of instinct that the human mind and spirit can usually over ride
by placing self motive and desires in to bring it to the level of humanistic actions.
God's will is what is carried out when phronesis is in play.
Contemplation of the higher faculties are always ready to act on command whereas
humanism won't because of self-interest placed before the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit's function is to breath life into the human spirit bringing it to life.
Wisdom as the Greek
Sophia (grace) does that with Grace as the means.
Grace gives life in all it's aspects. Grace is the eternal life that will never die.
That's why she is called the
New Jerusalem in Galaltions 4 (represented by Sarah).
The human spirit lives on in her. That is the form of culture that propels people to better their lives and others.

It's the
grace of God in religion that is nuturing, not demanding.
And it's the politics of a fair gvmnt.

Phonesis (as intuition according to the definition I used awhile back) is Truth.
It's the part of the armour that is God, along with the sword, that is the Word of God.
Salvation/righteousness/gospel/faith are aspects of God but not God Himself.
Whereas truth and Word are. Those two aspects of the armour. belt and sword, represent God.
That's why I say that the part of wisdom that is
phronesis is that part that God moves solely for His purposes.
They lack any other motive so aren't part of the
grace that is helpful to people's advancement.

The Spirit that led Jesus into the wilderness was
Sophia,
the Spirit that He was full of when He came out was
Phronesis.
It's the wisdom of the righteous according to Luke 1:17.
The righteousness of the armour is the breastplate and it protects the heart.
It's His righteuosness, not ours.
Wisdom (Sophia) is the mind on exalting humanity to new heights.
Wisdom (phronesis) is the mind of Christ. Both are inacted in the human spirit.
The mind in accordance to the armour is where salvation comes from.
That is the Lord's salvation that He gives to whom He will. He gives that to those who will abide in Him
because abiding in Him is according to His truth.

Worldly truth is the whole range of philosophy.
Pilate says "What is truth" instead of Who is truth.

'
intuition' wasn't in use as a word until the 15th century, so best to not use that word
phronesis is the biblical word.
Sophia= grace
Ph
ronesis = mind of Christ , truth

I was just talking to someone who attended church classes about 'Sophia'
and this was very enlightening to her
She wasn't aware of the
Phronesis factor
She said she thought it might be the gnostic thought,
but I said not when termed with Jesus (as
Logos) as truth.

In fact thats what John's letters were trying to differentiate from.
Jesus embodies both but only worked from
Phronesis (God's will in action)
during His mission on earth.
Our example to follow is
the mind of Christ (Phronesis)
by bringing things to
the throne of grace (Sophia in the Godhead)
So that there is mediation between God and mankind.
True Wisdom results.

OT term for Greek Phronesis is Hebrew Tsaddik or Zaddik
Stronge Concordence # 6663 in the Hebrew. ~Righteous~

ie:
Prov 10:25
As the whirlwind passes, so the wicked (rasha) are no more;
but the rightous (
tsaddik) is an everlasting foundation.

(Built on rock, not sand)

From this is seen the righteous priesthood of the millenium
called
the Zadok priests in Ezekial.

Psalm 1 is a general outline of righteousness.(Psalm 15 also)
1) Happy is the person who doesn't follow wicked guidance
nor walks the roads that sinners tread
nor sits in the company of mockers
2) but rather finds joy in the Eternal's laws
pouring over it day and night
3) And so becomes firm as a tree planted by rivers of water,
the fruit shall not fall untimely,
and whose leaves never fade,
whatsoever it bears comes to fruitation.
4) Not so the lawless
they are chaff scattered by the wind
5) When judgement comes, the ungodly will not stand
sinners will have no part in the reunion of the just
6) The Eternal cares for the Way of the righteous
but the ways of the wicked vanish forever.

Solomon's 'wise and understanding heart' was Sophia wisdom
able to see between rasha and tsaddik as proofed by the split baby.
__________________
Just to scrape this into one message

Bracketed by Joseph's message of
Sophiac Wisdom's human care
comes Phronesis Wisdom's message of God's move thru Tamar.
Where the Princely family of crippled and blind Israel
were in the process of selling themselves into slavery
by their own actions,
God was moving past son after son to bring Himself to the point
of eventually spilling the seed of Himself into the earth
that out of death might come life.

Where Sarah represents grace in human life,
Tamar represents truth of God's actions.
See Gen 28

What is also seen is the northern Kingdom under Ephraim
separation from the southern tribe of Judah
symbolically and
Phronesically in Ezek 16:52

Ezekiel 16:52 (Darby Translation)
52Thou also, who hast judged thy sisters,
bear thine own confusion, because of thy sins
in which thou hast acted more abominably than they:
they are more righteous than thou.
So be thou ashamed also, and bear thy confusion,
in that thou hast justified (
Tsaddiked) thy sisters.

It seems the righteous Tamar had overstepped Sophia Godhead's bounds.
Be careful where you think you stand, lest you fall.
__________________
So then, the Word of God and Truth are aspects of God.
Righteousness comes from the breastplate

Song of Songs 1:2b
Your breast (bridegroom's) is better than wine.(original)

Wisdom is better than the diversity of teaching of both old and new.
The Nazirite moves beyond the water turned wine (law and prophets)
Righteousness of the Heart conceals treasures of wisdom beyond the good and evil.

((((( Thy heart, O Bridegroom, the grace of the teachings within, surpasses all the wine
that is wont to gladden the human heart)))))

Some places are not merely holy, but they are holy of holies.
The places where barefeet meet the ground w/o the trappings of human situation.
Travel is needed to arrive there. Travel from basic law, thru gained knowledge
and discernment of good and evil. To the Wisdom of God Only.

Humans are made that way as tripartate.

Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

God declared His finish His work on day 6,
Jesus declared His work finished at His death.
"That's why he came into the world but he left the world so that the third part
of human history could be played out by Grace, the Holy Spirit.
People need to go to where she is (throne of grace) so that she can meet you where you are.
People need to pray to ascend to the level of wanting and getting help" (quote of Verses)

Arriving at the song of Songs is the holy of holies. But many songs brings one there.
You must come out of Egypt singing.

"Let us sing to the Lord for He is gloriusly magnified" Ex 15:1-21
Pursue thru the wilderness to where the wells were dug. Num 21:17
In the holy land to sing the song of Deborah (Deborah means bees) Jdg 5
And sing the song of David in the book of kings.2 ki 22, Ps 17
With Isaiah to sing
"I will sing to the Beloved the song of my vineyard." Isa 5:1-7

Those are the ascending songs, many don't reach the greater heights.
The bride herself needed much encouragement to come out from behind her wall.
The maidens are still living within their souls, rather than with the Spirit.
The friends of the Bridegroom have attained to the 'new man' corperately
All say with the bride
"We will run after Thee, into the fragrance of Thine ointment" Song of Songs 1:3b
The need is to taste, touch, feel and know that He is good.

Song of Songs 1:6b-8
My brothers were angry with me
and made me tend the vineyards,
so I haven't tended my own vineyard!
7 Tell me, you whom I love,
where do you feed your sheep?
Where do you let them rest at noon?
Why should I look for you near your friend's sheep,
like a woman who wears a veil?
The Man Speaks to the Woman
8 You are the most beautiful of women.
Surely you know to follow the sheep
and feed your young goats
near the shepherds' tents.

Know your dignity or suffer your destitution.
Sheep are to the right, goats to the left.
In the steps of His flock you will find yourself.
Feeding with the goats will not find a place with the Good Shepard.

Song of Songs 1:3a
Thy Name is ointment emptied out.

The sweet odour of the Name of Jesus has made it's sweetness
Known in every place. The world has smelled the fragrance.
( 2 Cor 2:14-16; Jn 10:4)

No longer dwelling in light unapproachable, the motives of
incarnation, death, ascention, redemption, are made known
as coming for the bride's hand in divine marraige.
Her Father will give her over, chosen in Love.
The souls of those attracted run after Him.
(1 Cor 9:24; Mat 18:20)

Some are attracted by Name alone, much like those who run
after celebrities.
But many He knows well because of personal relationship.
They are where He is,one in spirit and truth.
(Jn 17:21; Acts 13:26)

Food of the angels, He is the manna from Heaven.
"Taste and Know that the Lord is Good"
Those who have handled the Word of God will nevermore
handle anything that perishes. Nor will their palate suffer
any other taste. The rational and guileless milk,
our weaknesses healed, He presents Himself as the solid food.
(Heb 6:, 5:14; 1 Pet 1:23, 2:2; 1 Jn 1:1)

To the faithful whose gardens have been filled with much fruit
is given sight and sound of the Bridegroom's delight
reflected from glory to glory.
(Mat 25:21; Ezek 28:13; Ps 34:4)

Delight in the Word of God is reflected in that person's own words.
(Prov 2:5; Heb 5:14)
They have examined the meaning of things with more acute perception
rather than from dimness of vision
(Jn 15:14; 1 Cor 13:10,12; Mat 6:1-4)

Proverbial law, Discerned vanities of human life, God's wisdom

1 Peter 2:2-3
2as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word,
that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord [is] good.

Song of Songs 1:3b,4c
Thy name is an ointment poured out.
The King has brought me into His chambers.
Let us rejoice and be glad in Thee.
We will love Thy breasts more than wine.
Equity hath loved Thee.

The process of Wisdom leaves one naked as Saul was left twice in prophesy.
A new man with a new heart, stripped of kingship, social roles. His base identity
beyond human judgement. Samson without the strength of covering.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active.
Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing
soul and spirit,
joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

The mothers of the split baby both disclaimed the life of the child.
Hannah's cost of having a child was letting go.
The women's renouncment inspires greater issues of the judge's justice.

Thereby
rightousness (Tzaddok) becomes subject to God's Wisdom. (Phronesis)

quite inspiring
Thank you, this topic stating the difference between the proper function of the soul and the spirit of the human being should be studied much more.
When we can see ourselves as God sees us, then light from the throne of His Grace will shine for the priestly work of bringing about His Kingdom :prayer:
Leaving ourselves on the altar of Higher Wisdom we go to minister that of Sophia to the world.

Colossians 1:9-10 (Darby Translation)

9For this reason *we* also, from the day we heard [of your faith and love], do not cease praying and asking for you, to the end that ye may be filled with the full knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, 10[so as] to walk worthily of the Lord unto all well-pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and growing by the true knowledge of God;

Some quick notes (since I linked this to Thoughts on Grace) from a read on God and the rhetoric of sexuality ( so far on page 85 of the book having just purchased it) that has similar interpretation of such things.

Further clues that I've come across to unravel the mystery are found in:

the 4 river heads found in the garden containing the elements of the New Jerusalem. The garden of Eden needed water but there was no divine water available, so the need for living water presents itself.

The setting = Abraham = requirements for life
Passivity = Isaac = Pison River = simple faith = Phronosis
Process = Israel = 3 fold river heads = the way of the mathematician = Sophia care

I'll add more if any thing else comes to mind. Nice to see that the many years of fishing was understandable to other fishermens. ;)

This is interesting .. “ ’living nephesh’ given to each living creature that the first Adam was to name reminds of the power-over given to the earth creature (man) “

These being subordinate brings to mind that which we need to bring into submission ~ the body (plant life) and the mind/soul (animal life) under control of the spirit of mankind (Holy Spirit led)

Because, it continues … “ Helpers they may be … companions they are not”
“Then Yahweh God steps back out of the picture; showing the diety as not the authoritarian controller of events”

Similarly God is now set on His promise of finding fit companions for His Son. The new Adam reviews the candidates, judging them all as to what He will call them, while the Father has forfeited the right to reverse His human/divine decision. The King’s verdict is irreversible. “This earth creature (Christ Jesus) takes over” as the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, to which every knee shall bow. And He embraces the power to till and keep us His Garden, the church out of His side, both of blood and water, making us clean. Amen (so be it) is His spoken Word.

Be ye holy ... any time we have more characteristics of God than what we started with, God sees that outcome as Holy. The increase is seen from the form of Jesus' example in the natural extending to usward in spiritual Kingdom purpose. Christ directed that knowledge-base as being examples of direct God-knowledge gained, which is the correct base to apply to knowledge given from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
A move away from a responsibility for self.
Iow, no longer naked and blind but covered in grace.

Grace is the base camp in which we live and breathe. That location (when abiding in grace) has provision, protection, relationship, supplies and every asset needed to accomplish any mission given, beginning from a tiny incorruptable seed that will not be broken as the tiny shoot grows into the glory set before us.

Established at the grace-base is a form of covenant that is basic to the Father's household, the new covenant that produces new creations. For our order to be established we must worship in spirit and in truth in the light of Christ Jesus. Praise/worship is the framework of abiding with God. Praise God in our sanctification!

Worship/praise is our contractual agreement to live in grace because that's the order given according to grace.

Ask the Holy Spirit where is the abiding and you will be led, as were the other disciples, with Jesus when He said " Come, and I will show you" John 1:37-39

Grace in which we stand was instituted to provide the order to accomplish this objective just like the first creation on the first day had it's grace covering over the deep and in the garden.

Grace is personified in our high priest in the order of Melchizedec. The order received completes God's plan to have offspring numbered like the stars of heaven. The Lord has made room for us, away from the foundation of sand. Abiding in Christ means edification and a living water supply that is renewed every morning.

Grace is the land. Applied to residences of the land it takes on the spiritual application of that which is of a certain nature, trusting God to work in the spiritual realm or sphere to meet the needs of the new nature. There is sufficently met the needs of the physical to produce every good work because heart, mind and soul follows when God is our confidence.

Divorced from the old nature and in covenent/marrige contract with new nature is the precept. While still in the earthly kingdom of heaven we go in and out of the enclosure of the Good Shepard but soon He will have us grounded as pillars in God's Kingdom, His Name written upon us.

Our form is in the covenent but our sphere is the atmoshere that we move in. As noted earlier it is in trusting God to meet the needs of the new nature. The work is :when going out to be sure to return at night. Iow, turn away from idols back to God on a regular bases. Agree with God in faith and be activated thru the empowerment of grace to be a productive member at home in grace.

When I think of a base camp I think of mountain climbers at the base of a mountain. Always there is someone minding the camp but turns are taken to let each the other to soar to the mountaintops on wings like eagles.

Within the 2 gospels of the talents parable there is a balanced teaching of responsibility delegated to equality in salvation and diversity in abilities and gifts. One's stewardship is a privileged position in the spiritual law that governs responsibility and accountability. Both opportunity to work and the ability to receive reward testify to the grace of God. Danger is in hoarding what should be invested in eternal purposes. Work diligently in guarding the trust entrusted from God. Realities of possible future judgement that results in loss of rewards should provoke faith in action during our present times.

The law is conformation of the old nature to conform to God's nature. The change experienced in the church age is away from conformation to transformation, beginning from the new testament (testament meaning the same as covenant) (actually is definitive to dispensation also)

Because it is literally impossible to conform to law a new nature has been given. The new nature doesn’t immediately but gradually transforms the old nature. So, what does that do to the vessel composed of the old nature? What it doesn’t do is transform or conform the old nature. Body and soul we are who we are.

So much effort is given to irradicating the old nature. But even that will be transformed eventually. The soul is what we have most importantly been given into our care and what we will be held accountable for and what is a win or lose battle.

We’re powerless to conform anything but must allow ( thru Christ) to be transformed into His image, which is the image we were made to be.

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of [your] mind, that ye may prove what [is] the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
2 Corinthians 3:18
But *we* all, looking on the glory of the Lord, with unveiled face, are transformed according to the same image from glory to glory, even as by [the] Lord [the] Spirit.

In comparison to

Romans 8:29
Because whom he has foreknown, he has also predestinated [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, so that he should be [the] firstborn among many brethren.
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of [your] mind, that ye may prove what [is] the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Philippians 3:10
to know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,
1 Peter 1:14
as children of obedience, not conformed to [your] former lusts in your ignorance;

From that outline it was Jesus who was conformed as the first-born among many. Conforming to His death is the 'don’t do' not the 'do this' of faith in action. A yielding to the transformation. The human nature is a beautiful thing. We are beautiful beings that God loves dearly. We can only be vessels of honour when we allow the potter to transform the clay, not vis versa.

1 Corinthians 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Romans 8:15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Binding and Loosing
To bind means to condemn, and to loose means to forgive. Binding satan’s influence over self looses the freedom of forgiveness provided at the cross Matthew 6:10, Revelation 11:15, Matthew 4:17, Romans 16:20 and is the meaning of the power of dominion. ‘For greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.’
Matthew 18:18
Truly I say to you, Whatever you bind on the earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on the earth shall have been loosed in heaven.
John 20:23
Whosever sins you forgive, they are forgiven them; and whosever sins you retain, they are retained.

The Lord's way of condemning allows for one's own words and thoughts to do the condemning. Genesis 38:26, Ezekiel 36:31, Matthew 26:25
The sinless Lord only was fit to condemn the woman caught in adultery and He refused to. John 8:1-11, Jeremiah 17:13. It makes me wonder if the power to bind and lose won't end up being a test upon the church and us as individuals because of being a test of Jesus' authority when He forgave the man lifted down thru the ceiling. The Pharisees sought to condemn Him because "only God can forgive sins" Luke 5:17-26

John 16:8
And when He comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and concerning righteousness and concerning …

In conviction people condemn themselves. But it is God who forgives thru the accepted work of Christ Jesus. The bible says to basically forgive everyone everything or we will not be forgiven ourselves. That includes forgiving oneself for our own safekeeping. On earth as it is in heaven.
1 Corinthians 4:5
So then do not judge anything before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and make manifest the counsels of the hearts, and then there will be praise to each from God.
1 John 3:20
Because if our heart blames us, it is because God is greater than our heart and knows all things.

Directly following the verse of sins forgiven or retained, Jesus made the point of saying ’blessed are they that believe without seeing' referring to Thomas's confession of 'my Lord and my God' John 20:24-29.

Can there be salvation apart from that belief I wonder?

"Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” “My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed. Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”

Belief that leads to a glorious life. Not w/o trials but is of the inheritance 1 Peter 1:4, 7 The spiritual world of the invisible is as real as any material thing. In fact that which is seem is merely a shadow of reality.
1 Peter 1:8
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

In the final analysis my stand must be with that which took place outside the camp, where the innocent, the neglected and those silenced by death are gathered together. ..Where Jesus suffered and died. Hebrews 13:12-16, Exodus 33:1-11
Hebrews 13:10
We have an altar from which those who serve at the tabernacle have no right to eat.
Joshua 22:28
And if they will say so, they shall answer them: Behold the altar of the Lord, which our fathers made, not for holocausts, nor for sacrifice, but for a testimony between us and you.

As the red heifer that purified outside the camp so is Christ Jesus. Hebrews 10:12

Moses was not a prophet but he was one to whom God spoke with face to face. Speaking against him brought about a leprose condition for His Holy Name’s sake Ezekiel 36:23 After all prophets merely heard from God in dreams and visions and not in face to face encounters where God shone on him in transformation glory. God dealt with him directly as Moses was beholding and reflecting God. Numbers 12:8, Hebrews 3:5, Revelation 21:11, Revelation 21:23-24, Proverbs 25:12

The first healing performed by Jesus was to heal the leper, “Lord,”he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” The unclean outside the camp are willingly brought nigh to Him. Lepers knew that the willing Jesus could cleanse them but the priests wouldn’t have thought so. Them, as professional diagnosers, declaring the leper clean was giving an expert eyewitness account to the authenticity of the miracle. Romans 12:1, 2 Corinthians 5:17

Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.
2 Corinthians 7:1
Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God

With the image of God exercising dominion over the enemy of God, God Himself completes His rest, we find our rest, and the rest is yet to come. Hosea 2:21-23, Matthew 6:33
2 Corinthians 3:18.
"And we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting as a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit."

The Lord Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, There are some of those standing here who shall by no means taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom. And after six days Jesus takes with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart. And He was transfigured before them, and His face shone as the sun, and His garments became white as the light."

Simply, beholding and reflecting ‘as in a mirror’ at the transformative figure of Christ , heaven finds it’s way to earth and death and the grave are swallowed in victory in a new creation’s life.

I would think the above would be a transition into the new testament from the old in context to dynamic transcendency most likely.
According to Phyllis Trible in her book 'God and the Rhetoric of Sexuality' it has much to do with gender. You were right in some aspect of that. ;p Altho it speaks pretty much into what I had written in the post quoted below of Jonah under the shade and sun. Her book mentions the same thing as referring to a rhetorical criticism that investigates the individual characteristics of a literary unit. I'd read the book before so maybe gleaned an understanding earlier that just verified my further thoughts.

When communal dimensions in the old testament are recognised and acknowledged of genuine biblical quality, the spiritual appropriation leds to the experience of Mysterium Divinum ~ God still active as creator, redeemer and sustainer ~ an active acknowledgement of progression in the bible ~ or deny divine activity in the faith of the community and deny that the communities experience has any significant bearing on the historical process.

For instance:

There's an attribute of God as to His mercy and justice that is carried thru-out the prophets and psalmists and given a different emphasis of meaning to each as it has related to their own experiences. Nahum 1:2-3 in vindication; repentant community Joel 2:13 ...

In fact Jonah used it in a prayer motivated by anger to accuse God! Jonah 4:2

Others used it for hymns such as Psalms 111:4, Psalms 112:4, Psalms 145:8 or a song of thanksgiving Psalms 103:8 and as an individual lament in Psalms 85:5 Psalms 86:15. The same attribute used in prayer Numbers 14:18; Jeremiah 32:18 and in supplication Nehemiah 1:5 and used to sustain even the guilty Nehemiah 9:27-28, 31.

All of which shows forth God’s care for each individual that comes to Him as well as for His inclusive care of His Family.

Exodus 34:6-7; Deuteronomy 5:9-10; Exodus 20:5-6; Deuteronomy 5:3; Deuteronomy 7:9-10

In all it shows a balanced picture that entails scripture itself revealing multiple levels of interpretation of itself that involves a process of understanding.

But I especially love how God Himself drew the picture of His own hermeneutics of Mercy and Justice, offering the interpretative clue within the text, in the form of shelter, shade and wind to bring it into present context. (re: Jonah 4:5-11) In this can be seen (individually) how His ways are so much higher than our own while also (nationally) how the Jews were shaded by the law but tribulation came from the wind of change to those who didn't accept Gentile/Jewish/bond/free/etc inclusiveness of the new covenant as seen in the destruction of temple, sacrifices and priesthood (the book of Hebrews). Jonah would rather have died than see Nineveh saved.

The old covenant only had the shadow of good things to come, protecting them in the land of promise from temporal evil, but emptied out and faded away in captive dispersion. Jonah only enjoyed the shade for one day before the caterpillar came and ate it gone. Then came the heat of the east wind. Jonah’s values were backwards. He cared more for the plant life than he did for the higher forms of life of animals and human beings. He was being fleshly and not of soul or spirit. Thankfully God is nothing like that and cares about all of our life and salvation. So in the final analysis, like Jonah it doesn’t necessarily follow that the church of God can build it’s own little shelter to watch the walls of our own little Nineveh tumble down.

Elijah also had extreme despondency but his was in zeal for the glory of God, Isaiah 33:16 while Jonah mourned the loss of his own glory. Philippians 2:21

God provided both the whale and the worm just as He provides for both the huge and little things in our lives. Our own shelters, built with human hands, do nothing against God's other provisions of wind and scorching sun. Raining fire upon Nineveh isn't always a part of His plan no matter how much we think it should be. Jonah 1:12, Jonah 4:3, Jonah 4:8 Jonah lost the vine for protection but he still had God. And from that picture we can see God and humankind reasoning together to come to the fuller understanding. Ephesians 4:13-14

Once again, in the final analysis, conformity to His Divine Will, by continuing or ceasing from a work, as the Lord’s servant, is compared to the vanity of doing things with His blessing or in vain without His blessing. We can’t all make the sun stand still. Instead we look to the Captain of Salvation and realize (the reality of) where our post did began and on what He says it ends; according to one's posting as ambassadors of Christ with a ministry of reconciliation to show forth His manifold wisdom to the principalities. Ephesians 3:10-11 not to mention the great cloud of witnesses. New occasions teach new duties.

Matthew 26:38

Then said Jesus to His disciples, my soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to the point of death: abide here and watch with Me

To save lives or destroy lives. God’s response is seen in the former and satan’s response in the other.

The transcendent interpretation above is of the Joel/Nahum/Jonah literary type with uniqueness within each in almost a proverbial narrative of Who God is according to different needs during Israel’s history. Trible begins with the typology of the above while expanding into another same thing different word type of thing within the context of the history of mankind, male and female, starting at Genesis 1:27 and continues from there to speak of gender history, and in doing so moves into yet another example of transcendency.

Grace in the soul

Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you,
He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies
through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Strong's Greek
2227. zoopoieo -- to make alive
... zoopoieo Phonetic Spelling: (dzo-op-oy-eh'-o) Short Definition: I make to live
Definition: I make that which was dead to live, cause to live, quicken. ...
strongs 2227
4806. suzoopoieo -- to make alive together with
... make alive together with. From sun and zoopoieo; to reanimate conjointly with
(figuratively) -- quicken together with. see GREEK sun. see GREEK zoopoieo. ...
strongs 4806

Strong's Hebrew
2421. chayah -- to live
... to revive -- keep (leave, make) alive, X certainly, give (promise) life, (let, suffer
to) live, nourish up, preserve (alive), quicken, recover, repair, restore ...
hebrew 2421

1 Cor 3:16
Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Cor 15:35-37
But someone will say, "How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?"
You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies;
and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else

Grace in the soul is its new nature; the soul is alive to God, what can a worldly life compare to this noble prize of our high calling? Regeneration by the Holy Spirit brings a new and Divine life to the soul, though in a feeble state. And the sons of God have the Spirit to work in them the disposition of children; they have not the spirit of bondage, which the Old Testament church was under, before the Spirit of adoption was plentifully poured out. Many speak peace to themselves, to whom God does not speak peace. But those who are sanctified, have God's Spirit witnessing with their spirits, in and by his speaking peace to the soul shall be quickened in their mortal bodies at the second comimg of the Lord.

John 14:18-20
"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. "After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. "In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

Your bodies are not exempt from the death which sin brought in; but your spirits even now have in them an undying life, and if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, even these bodies of yours, though they yield to the last enemy and the dust of them return to the dust as it was, shall yet experience the same resurrection as that of their living Head, in virtue of the indwelling of same Spirit in you that quickened Him. Yet in that which is made alive now the sense is, that under the gospel, by the influence of the Spirit,is made alive and recovered to the service of God by the Spirit that dwells in us, because that Spirit has restored life to our souls, abides with us with his purifying influence, and because the design and tendency of his indwelling is to purify the entire man, and restore all (body, soul and spirit) to God. Christians thus in their bodies and their spirits become sacred. For even their body, the seat of evil passions and desires, shall become alive in the service of God.

How much does this view of what He has in store for us prompt us to co-operate with the Holy Spirit in crucifying the flesh ?

By his Spirit that dwelleth in you:
If you are sanctified by the Spirit, you shall be raised up by the Spirit also, as Christ was. The wicked also shall be raised at the last day. But the righteous shall be raised after a peculiar manner; they shall be raised, as by the almighty power of God, so by virtue of their union with Christ as his members, and by virtue of their relation to the Spirit as his temples. They only shall partake of a resurrection that is desirable and beneficial to them. Therefore it is called emphatically the resurrection of the just, and these two are joined together, as belonging one to the other; the children of God, and the children of the resurrection,
