• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

HI again, I've run into another problem. A few months ago I got a parrot, I prayed that I would get a male parrot so it would talk I looked around and found one reasonably priced and I bought him/her. I think it may be a girl due to behavior and coloration but I don't mind, it is such a sweet bird and I really love her but the problem is I may be allergic to it. I have asthma already and have been feeling a scratchy kinda swollen feeling in my throat and lung areas. My parrot is the type that produces a lot of dust to coat their feathers, the dust is enough to turn my fingers white when I touch my parrot.
because of this I was considering rehoming him but I don't want to because I feel it would be like giving up a blessing and God would get mad at and punish me for it.
I don't know what to do, please help!

I don't think God's blessings would ever hurt you Gingerine. If you're allergic and hurting, it may be better to let go off your parrot and find her another home. God bless :).

God is not going to punish you.

"There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18

You already have every spiritual blessing in Christ
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." Ephesian 1:3

Get rid of the bird if it is causing you problems. God is with you and loves you regardless.

Thank you both, this is very helpful and eases my nerves. I'd hate to have to send my bird away but I think my health should take priority especially if I can't find a way to control the dust. thanks again God bless!
