Oh, never mind, then. I just wondered I suppose how if you now like playing the keyboard so much, how come you didn't use to like it. (But maybe this is not how it was, so never mind...)
As a child and young adult I would play my small keyboard a few days a week. Life got busy. In recent years when I did get my larger one out I would play all evening. Not often because there were easier instruments to hand ie alto recorder and guitar, that was quicker than going upstairs and in cupboards.

That looks great! Doesn't look like it takes up too much space either.
Yes, and it feels just like a grand (solid weighted, hammer action, 88keys).....just with more options... I mainly use it for practice.. My main instrument is the organ.....practicing with heavier keys, makes playing the lighter ones easier..

We are creatures of habit, certainly, and we do change our patterns of activity. :)

I wonder if I can buy a used one in the future.

Well, there's nothing quite like a piano; but keyboards are good, too... :)

In Canada, in cities like Toronto and Vancouver where micro-condos are in vogue, pianos are not really much of an option for space reasons...
Keyboard technology is very advanced now........The keys feel just as good as the real thing.....sometimes better or worse depending on the price. The sound, whether better or worse, is also dependent on the price. I got the casio for piano feel and practice....but i also have a keyboard for it functions.....and portability.....

I guess when it comes to micro-condos in places like LA, NYC, Toronto and Vancouver, portability is an advantage; but then noise can still be a factor in a condo block...

Always good to have an instrument to enjoy. ;)

I started playing the recorder when I was 8, but I hardly play it anymore. I started playing the keyboard when I was 11, and I prefer it now.

I have two old keyboards, one from each of my grandmothers, and a newer one I got for Christmas when I was 13. One of the older ones and the newer one are actually children's keyboards but I still like them, haha.

People sometimes belittle the idea of children and young ppl learning to play a recorder, but it is a valuable experience.

I taught myself recorder on leaving home... everytime I got one my parents would throw it the bin within a day or two oops. Then bought a bigger one so I could look more mature, of course the lower pitch is nicer on the ears too.

(Played keyboard on silent as a child, in the dark, under my blankets. I had to save the batteries :') Fond memories)

You must have had an enjoyable childhood in this way. :)

Oh, I did. They had to tolerate the French horn practice. As a parent, I fully understand the torment I put them through. My son is a drummer, I need to tolerate his incessant tapping. :D

Infact, I used to try to make tunes on everything. Even those whistles, milk bottles and those things you blow at parties. It must have been infuriating.

Well, it just goes to show how the desire to improvise a tune seems to be part of the human condition. :)

So, how amateur are you at piano? Good amateur?

I can play some hymns in tunes that some ppl think they recognize.
It is a lovely way to praise. What are the verses 'Praise Him on the flute, lyre and trumpet?'

My dad when he was younger played in a group. He was a very good trumpet player. When we were kids, he'd be blowing a trumpet, along with my brother. My sister and I would be on flutes. She eventually gained my flute years ago. She had some special deal she was to play for. When she took the case out of the car---on the pavement when her flute. She called me and came and got mine.
It often goes in families. :)

My dad used to play trumpet. He now plays trombone in a band. When he heard that I restarted trumpet, he mailed a mute for my Christmas present.

What happened with your sister's flute?
