Seems to me that some ppl attribute to somewhat arbitrary psychological categories a supposed definiteness that is maybe not warranted.
yep. it gets treated like Astrology. The religious fervor that people act on this stuff with. They'll type their friends and family and strangers and use their guesses to influence how they treat these people. then post questions for help when it isn't going well... And its like, how do you even know this person is this type? and if they are, that doesn't mean they're going to be exactly like the stereotypes and so forth. Dating as well can be a big part.
Hi; what I don't like is that some ppl will project - machine like - onto human minds what they think their categorization ought to be.There is a great deal of validity in understanding personality types.
The most important thing I would think ,would be the diversity among people even with the same type of personality.
It's a human mind ,not a machine.
Just because two people score the same on Meyers Briggs ,does not negate individualism.
There still remains reliable patterns of thinking, that are similar but not identical.
Law enforcement officials use such charisitics to solve crime.
In profiles they predict the persons likes or dislikes , and are able to narrow the field for suspects.
But when it comes to criminals, Police are focused on dysfunctional personality types more than a general standard of behavioral pattern.

Definitely an XNTP but I lean to ENTP. I thought INTP for a while, but... I don't think so anymore. My friends don't either. I'm an inventor, a debater, and I'm pretty extraverted.
Or as they say, "The most extraverted introvert" or "The most introverted extrovert"
Interesting point...What is quite common is the compensated introvert. This is the introvert that has learned to fake extroversion. You can spot them because, although compensated introverts have learned to "be the life and soul of the party," if fatigues them (whereas the true extrovert is energised by parties).

You appear to be right. I’m seeing a lot of infj’s. Can you make a poll thread?
It would be interesting
I struggle with all the abbreviations sometimes...What is a COTLG? (although i think i know what it means)

Child Of The Living God so that makes me a JLCT
Of course. perhaps I should be more clear. There are two kinds of people who post questions about typing and relationships. There is a great deal of validity in understanding personality types.

Just Like Christ Type
a person who fakes extroversion knows they are doing so.
