Do all Christians have everything they need to live a godly life in Christ?
Some people say that God will never give us more than we can handle?
Is this true?
(Perhaps they are two separate questions but with a similar theme... Answer which ever one.)
Romans 8:20 is written in post-crucifixion era, after the true light that came into the world was rejected by it, letting darkness overtake it and bringing upon the earth the last days (heaven vs hell over the ultimate control of earth - John 12:35, Daniel 9:26).
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Since you rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being My kohen.
Since you forgot the Torah of your God, just so I will forget your children.
The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against Me.
I will change their glory into disgrace.
Hosea 4:6-7 shows the pattern of the thief of John 10:10 that when linked with Luke 19:14 and 1 John 4:1, shows how the authentic Christian faith was corrupted very early on, and keeps being corrupted as long as Christians do not humble themselves to accept the truth and find agreement among each other (Luke 11:23, Mark 3:24, 1 Corinthians 3:3).
Humbling one's self and accepting the truth are elements that only godly love can produce - hence that God is not the author of confusion (yet Christendom is full of confusion). The thing is, that the true nature of love is so foreign to us now (TV drama does not show us godly love, but characters that are sinful - condescending, catty, self-centred, mean, immoral etc - Matthew 24:12). Christians are feeding more on that poisonous spiritual food than the spiritual food of life that comes from God's regenerate ones (John 6:63, John 5:38, Ephesians 4:22-25).
The conclusion then, is that by and large, Christians in this day do not know the love of God because it is scarcely found (Matthew 7:21-23, John 14:21). They have believed some sort of falsehood that permits them to be ungodly, and they remain deluded by that false belief until The Holy Spirit comes to breathe the life into them (John 3:8, 1 John 3:14).
God has definitely provided all we need (the bible is sufficient), but we also need to receive the conviction of it. For instance, when it says "do not become conformed to the pattern of the world but be renewed by the transforming of your mind" - why does the church not take this to heart?
"Strive to enter by the narrow door, for many will try and will not be able".
