two numbers four & seven or four sevens

one river parted into four heads ( Jesus garments ) which can be seen as four beasts understanding this in relation to the seven creative days ... which leaves three ( perception)

You have got a good imagination.

I'm astonished at all this talk about tattoos on here, though I've just learned from your post that it concerned a fear of offending God by having yourself tattooed.

I wasn't even talking about tattoos.:doh::doh::doh:

So either one of us is imagining things that isn't there:swoon:Or you quoted the wrong person:scratch:

I don't know if this will interest you, but if you take 888 to be the number of Jesus' Name and you subtract 12 for His disciples, then multiply the difference (876) by 888 (for the resurrection) - what you get is 777888.

This gives you 888 again and the infamous 777.

On the other hand, this could be a disorder, the name for which I couldn't find on the internet (as such).

I hope you are not vexed anyway.

I think I should start by saying that I have quite a few tattoos. I do not know if that is frowned upon, but I was a wild child. Whether regret or not I believe that we can all learn to grow and hopefully live to know. I do not believe tattoos are the mark of the beast or anything like that. Anyways, one of these tattoos is 777. Almost everyday since getting it I've seen that number in the most random places. Being that it was years ago I have dropped the idea that its merely coincidence. I would like to know someone's opinion on what it could mean. I have no idea if it's suppose to be a message, but if it is I have yet to decipher it.

It doesn't mean a thing. Not a thing.

Humans are wired to spot patterns; once we have a pattern in mind we will see it everywhere and interpret it accordingly. This is how we can read text in any font once we know the basic patterns.

But unfortunately this ‘automatic’ process can also lead to errors and false pattern recognition. This tendency to mistakenly identify patterns is called apophenia and explains why we will sometimes see faces in our wallpaper or why we will think there is a relationship between events when really it’s just a coincidence. Apophenia can even explain our tendency towards conspiracy theories, gambling and several ‘cognitive biases’.

Forget the numbers; they don't mean a thing.

in another view ( but not another :D )

Golgotha ( place of the skull )

four senses in our head/skull, the fifth sense in our hand which these five give us a husband/spirit not our own as a sixth ( sixth sense ) ... the seventh being our true husband sat resting upon a well

What nonsense. Why are you comparing Christ (I assume) sitting on a well with one of our senses?

What is that all about?

nothing is out of order, understanding in relation to the feasts we have just come out of Pentecost which is likened to a wandering in a wilderness caught between two mountains, a place of confusion where we reason between what is and what is not , seen as to fruits of a tree etc

we are but strangers in a strange land ... it not being our own, but GOD does not leave us here, seeing to get somewhere you need two points of reference, but to get there you must leave the two ...

Too much coffee.

The feast we have 'just come out of' is Candlemas. Pentecost is weeks away yet.

not i but scripture relates Christ as our true husband ... it is our five husbands which gives us a husband not our own ...

The Koine Greek that Christian scripture was composed in used the Miletus number system not the Roman number system. Like the Roman system, the Miletus system used Greek letters to repesent numbers. This system required 27 letters to stand for numbers, Nine letters were used to represent the numbers 1, 2, 3, .... 8, 9; another nine were used for 10, 20, 30, .... 80, 90; nine more were used for 100, 200, 300, ... 800, 900. So the number 666 would consist of the three letters (chi, xi and vau) representing 600 + 60 + 6 not the DCLXVI as it would be in the Roman or Latin system. There has been much conjecture on the precise meaning of the number 666. Much is made of numerology in which words are given mystical meanings by assigning numbers to the letters. Some claim it refers to Caesar Nero (AD54 – 68) who was the first Roman emperor to seriously persecute the Christians while others suggest it was Caesar Domitian (AD81- 96) who was the emperor at the time Revelation was written. Domitian was worse than Nero as far as persecutions were concerned and he was widely believed at the time to have been a reincarnation of Nero. It could hardly represent the Roman Catholic Church or the Papacy since these institutions were centuries from being formalised. It is likely the 666 refers to the Roman Empire in some way. Incidently some people have made much of the three sixes in 666. However, 666 is a place value decimal system with Arabic numerals both of which were centuries in the future. In the Miletus system there was only the one 6. It is also interesting to note that in a few ancient manuscripts the number is 616 not 666.

Do not worry about your tattoos. I feel it is fine to have tattoos.
Nothing to worry about, right? People do it, esp. after 18; unbelievers do it; Christians do it; some are faith based and effective conversation starters; some aren't.

It happens to me. A few certain numbers come to have some significance to me, and then I am quite aware of seeing them in various places that would be independently, but enough to have me think a bit that there is significant purpose to these appearances. It wouldn't be significant with these being one digit, but few are sequences of several digits.
