“Killing An Attacker Removes His Chance Of Ever Being Saved”
While it is true that death removes a sinner’s chance of being saved, it is
not true that it is the innocent defender’s fault. The attacker who is killed in the commission of his
godless act is himself responsible for his lost spiritual condition. By his actions, the attacker removes his own chance of being saved. Innocent people are
not to be blamed for the sinful choices and actions of others (
Ezekiel 18:20). Incidentally, my citing the book of “Ezekiel” might remind some readers of chapters 3 and 33 of the book, which speak of the prophet’s duty to “warn” sinners. I should point out that God had reference to sinners who would
listen to the prophet’s reproofs, not to the Babylonian invaders who were “a god unto themselves” and had no interest in God’s word.
