That is not the argument. The point of difference is whether the Bible is merely a product of ignorant men in pre-scientific cultures making up the best stuff they could think of at the time... or the actual Word of God - supernaturally inspired by God that is. You keep "assuming" the salient point in your view rather than showing that it is actually true.

And do you "totally get" why it is not threatening to atheists or Buddhists to view the Bible that way?

Surely this is "the easy part" that we all see no matter which side of the issue we prefer.

And do you know for 100% certainty that it is not the work of infallible God?

Ahh now that is the point! Faith.

But even you would agree that some have "chosen" faith in the religion of Christianity while others have not.

So then the real question to be explored is ... "evidence".

Is there evidence to support the arguments/claims that the Bible makes about itself?

Or to the contrary is there instead "evidence" that a rabbit will eventually be produced by dust, rock and gas given enough time and chance?

Or perhaps the real "other alternative" is that Hinduism or Buddhism has the actual inspired text and Christianity does not?

What evidence is there that the Bible is supernaturally inspired? One easy and obvious area of investigation would be in regard to the prophecies that it makes and if they are many years ahead of time and accurate that is an indicator that the Bible has supernatural origin.

Is "Love your neighbor as yourself" true?

I tested and found out it sharply improved my life with surprising extra gains I did not expect. Spectacular on the whole.

So, it's the best law for how to live among all the various ideas I tested. I tested all sorts of ideas and experiences, usually many times each over years of time.

Test and check for yourself.

Since 'true ' just means the best solution of all known, its definitely true.

Christ instructed us to do this one. His 2nd greatest commandment.

Is the Devil stronger than God? NO,NO, Never. God is Love, and Love is the strongest. Satan has to do what God wants, but Satan is crafty, and full of lies. God knows Satan`s tricks, and Satan has no chance. Satan is always trying to be crafty, but with God, he has no chance. Sadly we do not know Satan`s tricks, and we often fall for them. Jesus told us in Matthew 22: 35-40- The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: love thy neighbour as thyself. The Bible tells us: Love God and love thy neighbour. God always comes first, and our neighbour is all we know and all we meet; The Bible also tells us: give up all our selfish and unloving words and thoughts, love God with all our beings, and love our neighbour as we love ourselves. Love is always the VICTOR. God is Love and love will always be victorious. Give Devil no thoughts at all, LOVE GOD and love each other. That is what God wants from us. I say this with love. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

The devil is God's enemy (Matthew 13:25, Matthew 13:39). He is also the enemy of the people of God (Ephesians 6:11). The devil is the father of lies (John 8:44). He lies to God's people and tempts them to sin. He is the tempter of God's people (1 Thessalonians 3:5). He is the prince of the world in that he has deceived the whole world into participating in his rebellion against God (Revelation 12:9, Ephesians 2:2).

So we can safely say that if anyone is rebelling against God, the devil is involved. They are under his power and influence. And if anyones sins - including a believer - the devil is involved. He tempts people to sin and deceives people into sinning.

God saves people from the tyranny of the devil (Colossians 1:13). He is conquered by the blood of the lamb (Revelation 12:11). Surely the evil one hates this. He seeks to ensnare and destroy believers.

But is the devil stronger than God? Is he able to pluck them out of God's hand? Is he able to successfully tempt them to apostatize and to reject Jesus?

Jesus says no. In John 10:27-29 - 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

Paul says no. In Romans 8:38-39 he says - 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Those who are saved can never lose their salvation because Jesus is stronger than the devil. If you say that believers can lose their salvation then you deny this. You're effectively saying that the devil can prevail, even in a small way, against the Lord.

The devil isn't going to be punished for our sins, since we are the ones responsible for our sins. Jesus took our sins upon Himself, not the devils sin. We can choose to walk away from the Lord, and that is our choice to do so.

Is the Devil Stronger than God?

He's already been defeated.

On another note, how can anything "created" be "stronger" than Who "created" them?

On yet another note, we were all playing this game on this site and this one person exceeded the limit on........ah heck , no sense beating a dead horse....

Emphatically No. Satan, or the Devil is not more powerful than God. His power is only that of the lie, and he only has power over those who believe his lies. The Devil is not an equal of God either. The Devil was once Lucifier, a beautiful but still created angelic being, who fell through pride. All angels (both fallen and unfallen) are creatures. Satan needed permission from God to touch Job. In Bunyan's story Pilgrim's Progress, Christian at one point of his journey travels by a path were there are lions (depicting the powers of darkness) at either side, but these are on short tethers, and the pilgrim who walks in the centre of the path, and doesn't stray to either side is not mauled, a good illustration.

If everything are all solely devil's fault, why did God punish Adam and Eve, not just the serpent? And why did God kill everyone with the flood instead of simply punishing the devil?

Even though the devil maybe sometimes involved, I wouldn't blame the devil for everything though. We are at least, to a certain extent, responsible for our own choice.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. (James 1:14 NKJV)

I understand you would blame the Devil for wrong things, at some points i agree with you but the Scripture said in James 4:7 Submit to God, resist the Devil and he will flee from you. Why God punished Adam and Eve, because they obeyed the devil instead of GOd.

Not true. Your whole premise is a logical non-sequitur.

If your argument were true then Adam and Even could never have fallen in the first place, or the fact that they did fall must mean defacto that the devil is stronger than God.

What you choose is not determined by the devil. It is also not determined by God. If either of those things were true, then "you" would basically not exist and also not be responsible for anything.

Though, I would be curious to know why, if you believe it is impossible for Christians to lose salvation, you bother to argue about doctrine etc at all. What's the point?

No, the devil is in the process of being out-conned... and that takes proving...

The way I kinda wonder if God beat the devil, is not similar to "let's not see if we can beat professor Moriarty by giving him everything he wants..." Kinda thing (Star Trek TNG, Ship in a Bottle)...

I wonder if that's how God beats the devil...
