I am addicted to nicotine, it has caused me to develop PAD, COPD and high blood pressure, I am unable to walk far. The thing is, I have been trying to gives up since 2016 and I just cant do it. I have tried patches, gum, sprays, inhalers and nicotine group. I buy books on giving up and have read alan carr etc. I am currently awaiting another book that may help. Anyhow I have heard of a lot of success from hypnotists but as a born again Christian it would be wrong so I wonder if I chose a Christian hypnotist would that be OK or if I hypnotise myself with the help of DVD's?

We can stop smoking by STOPPING it.

I was a smoker and i started smoking a pack until it finished, I seriously decided to stop by STOPPING it. Im a vegetarian now, i dont eat meat or eggs/milk, but i rarely eat grilled fish and i have cured myself without medicine from high blood pressure.

If you drink prescribed medicine for high blood pressure for many years, your kidney will be ruined and you will need to go to hospital to clean your blood with machine and ur life is over.

Stop smoking and avoid meat/eggs and milk and sweet bread, it will heal your blood pressure.

My brother tried to quit for years.
Sometimes he would make it to a whole week, but then he would go back to smoking.
He also tried almost everything, not hypnotism though.
One thing all these different methods boils down to is, your willpower.
Then one day he found out cigarette smoke made him stink.
He stopped cold turkey after smoking for about 35 years.
And the one thing he was always concerned about was how other people saw him, that what was there impression of him.
After that cigarettes became abhorrent to him.
And whenever he thought about smoking again he just remembered how much it made him stink.

The point is you need to see how bad cigarettes are.
I know you are going to say that you already think they are evil.
That is not what I mean. What I mean is even though you may think they are evil, there is still a part of you that wants to smoke.
An addiction to cigarettes is the same as any other sin.
See smoking for the evil it really is.
See it as a sin the way God sees sin, totally abhorrent.
Stop seeing it as something desirable that you are trying to resist.

A lot of us developed a nicotine addiction and managed to break the habit, using willpower. I suffered for about three and a half weeks when I finally quit. You can quit, also.

At one point I though I would never quit but ended up doing it without even trying...Yes, really. I was actually stunned it was so easy, so though it may not work for you, I should at least tell you what happened. some of it was probably because I was home all through this, or I didn't have to work anyway, but I've no doubt it could be customized..

I tried to quit and gave up, way way to hard, then after I quit smoking pot, I still had what we called a toker...a very small bowled pipe, held 3 or 4 drags.

I was making my own ciggs at the time with the paper tubes and machine, I ran out of tubes and decide to just use that toker. After 3 to 4 months I verified that I had cut back unintentionally..just wasn't sure how much, but I seem to recall to about 1/4 of my normal intake. I think the key was, not being obligated to smoke that whole cigg once I lite up, and I would just toke all I wanted, set the pipe down, and fill it as needed, with no restrictions on myself because I wasn't trying to quit, I was just out of paper tubes.

After I realized I had cut back a lot, I tried quitting, and it was a piece of cake. I had already all but weened myself off and after 5 or so of not all that uncomfortable days, I was done. All that after smoking for around 45yrs non stop, so I WAS addicted.

No one really seems interested when I tell the story, but I will continue to tell it whenever I feel it necessary, because I know if one gets desperate enough they will try anything.

I should add that I think another contributor was to forget all about quitting and trying to cut back because the more that is on our minds, the more we want more. Just enjoy your smoking, albeit a little inconvenient. Also I was already using pipe tobacco since that got past the taxes and ran only $20 a pound. They hopped on making pipe tobacco actually inhaleable and pretty much like cig tobacco with the tax situation like it was. You cannot do it with conventional pipe tobacco...way too harsh.

If interested, just PM me and I can get you headed in the right direction. Some of your mini marts sell that pipe tobacco, or you can order it online, or just pay for premium cig tobacco...whatever.

Good luck with whatever method you choose, but this is the only one I would ever even consider recommending...by far....it was that good :)

You should find a place where there is no nicotine available
and stay there. That will do it.

There are a number of factors that would affect a person's ability to break one addiction or another. In the case of nicotine, I've observed that people with a nervous disposition tend to have more difficulty kicking than others. I'm guessing this is because nicotine relaxes the nervous system, and the person (physically, and psychologically) becomes dependent on the nicotine to calm their nerves. It also seems that this dependence increases nervousness and irritability which is a vicious cycle.

Bottom line is that no one accomplishes anything unless God grants it. It doesn't matter how hard we try or how much we want it. Unless God has mercy, it won't happen. Romans 9:16
It's not a bad thing to be desperate because it may be the very thing God uses to not only cause you to quit smoking, but also to enable you to give Him all the glory in the doing of it. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Hard for me to say much. Both my grandpas decided it was too expensive, and quit, cold turkey. If you're a stubborn old Pole, that might work for you, but I guess not, if you're doing this post.
The main thing I can offer is to not give up hope. See if you can get your desire to quit in the prayer requests at Church. I'm not sure how big e-cigarettes are across the pond, but in the US, some people find relief by using them instead. However, just because they don't make smoke doesn't mean they're not dangerous; think of them as a stepping stone, instead of a final target.
God knows your desire is real, and your prayers will not go unanswered.
Onward, Christian Sister!

Hypnotising yourself is extremely dangerous. Don't do it and don't go searching different sites on how to hypnotise yourself or others.
