Hearing God Speak

The first time I "heard" God speak to me (not audibly but in my spirit) I was 23 years old. After that I began to hear Him more frequently. Now I hear Him all the time. It is so hard to explain to someone when they say they don't hear Him like I do and I try to encourage them they can and do but maybe they just haven't recognized it was Him.
I want to share my testimony and experience with anyone who wants to experience hearing His voice and invite others to share there experience.

I know out of my own experience that the more I read the Bible the more I heard His voice. Secondly, I changed my prayer routine...I used to pray and intercede and when I was done end my prayer "In Jesus Name, Amen" Then get up and start doing other things. What I changed was to sit there after I was done praying and just wait....listen...and He would begin to speak.
Every time I hear Him speak it is not audible but in my spirit and my thoughts.

Here is something to consider....have you ever gotten a song in your "head" and couldn't get it out? You were hearing the lyrics and the melody in your mind not audibly. Well, this is what hearing His voice is like except there is a very noticeable distinction. 1st the voice is gentle, yet authoritative. 2nd It is surrounded with peace. 3rd It speaks pertaining to His Word in your life

God has been speaking to me in all sorts of ways since the early 1960s.

I love hearing His voice....it dispels all the negative inputs from the enemy that I receive throughout the day. I have at times "missed" it...thinking it was Him when it was my own trying to make Him say something that I "wanted" Him to say...but as I grew..and continue to grow I am able to discern His voice from my own wishful thinking....lol.

that's interesting. I have had short items, I suppose you would call them 'visions' but more like explaining my problems, some I didn't know I had, along with explanations.
Our God is a great and wonderful Lord...

I was raised to believe God doesn't speak today like He did in bible times. We had to discern the will of God through the Scriptures, godly advice, circumstances, etc.

When I first was baptized in the Holy Spirit, a tremendous door opened to the spirit world. I began to hear words within my heart, which did not originate in my own self. I began to write the words down.

When a minister friend heard that I had a book where I wrote the words I heard, he was very alarmed, and told me this was not right! The only written words of God had to be the Bible!

Under his direction, I got rid of the notebook, and began to read the Bible for hours a day. I shut off the inner voice. He even told me to stop praying in tongues... and he was a Pentecostal minister!

That was the beginning of a very strange and convoluted journey. I had turned my back on the inner voice of God, in obedience to a preacher... and by that act, I had given up my spiritual integrity. I had signed over my conscience.

It took many years to come back to spiritual integrity. I now listen constantly for the inner voice of God. And I do have notebooks full of the things he has said to me. And besides those, I have about 1000 typed pages on the computer. (Writing takes longer than typing. so it's much easier to flow in communication with Him, while recording it on the computer.)

There's incredible peace in His presence. But there's also incredibly electrifying power!
He is everything to me.

Praise God!....I am always so saddened to hear how ministers lead the sheep astray...no wonder there is so much opposition to Christianity! There are preachers and teachers out there constantly causing His sheep to go astray or get bound in false teachings. The Holy Spirit grieves in these instances.

Hello all
I first loved God when I was five and he has been with me in spirit since but there was a time when I did not recognize him and that was a sad part. Until I became a born again Christian. Now I pray for time for him to become larger in my heart after a time of relapse. Praise God

How wonderful...if it helps, when I was born again I used to pray constantly, "Lord, don't let go" I was so fearful of losing my wonderful Lord. That was many years ago and I can testify to his faithfulness.
All Praise to our wonderful Lord!
