i don't like your understanding of god, your understanding look alike the god of the old testament, a severe father, yes he is severe still but more than that he is great in misericordy

i repeat, i don't like your image of god
you've got a image

Hebrews 12

God Disciplines His Sons

4Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

5And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Anyone who says they are wise is a fool. If you search for wisdom, the only knowledge you can gain is how little you know, and what a lost cause you are -- that you need the Lord.

When all is said and done, one thing remains--fear God and obey his commandments, for this is the whole of man.
Ecclesiastes 12:13

Dear gustavchristianartist. It is easy to be wise, if we follow Jesus. Jesus died that we might live, and Jesus told us in Matthew 22: 35-40: The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. God is Love, and God wants loving sons and daughters. We know for sure that Satan and his followers will flee from all Love and Compassion. The Bible tells us: give up all lying and pretence, love God and love each other. Jesus died that we might live, we follow Jesus now, JESUS IS THE WAY. Matthew 7: 7-10: tells us: Ask and you shall receive, ask for love and compassion, then thank God and share all love and compassion with our friends and neighbours, all we know and all we meet. God will see our loving and caring, and God will BLESS us greatly. It is easy to be wise, follow God and love each other. Why not try it, Gustav? God will Bless us greatly. Thank you for listening to God and love each other. I say this with love, Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

Yes!! Absolutely! This is part of my testimony when I came back to God as a Prodigal Daughter in Christ! :D
I finally took a good look at myself and figured out I was going around in circles, kinda like what the Isrealites did when wondering the desert for 40 years. Looking into my own heart and knew God was speaking to me a few days earlier, trying to get my attention. It worked, I was thinking of ending it all and thought following God was too hard and that I could never amount to His standards. I knew nothing about God even though I grew up in a half Christian home.

Point is, God is SO Gracious!!! I asked Him for His wisdom, His ways and His truth without being hindered anymore. The very next day, wow! Did He ever give me wisdom in abundance! He hasn't ceased giving since 2014.

*******
We should all be looking at the Bible in its entirety. We shouldn't be nit-picking each other - especially when we don't know where we all are in God's walk. Haven't we read: Matthew 11:25 We all start somewhere in our Christian walk with God.
:yellowheart:

Indeed! The whole of scripture is the narrative our soul's journey to the truth we have always been. The wanderings of Israel being a picture of our soul (likened to the land/a city/a mountain)...wandering between two mountains until the truth narrows down to one and we enter in (inward)...
Finding this truth, it is an ever increasing inward revelation in the form of a rest we walk in,having ceased from our own labouring (wandering) to 'be'...for the promise is that HE freely gives all that we need, fills all in all, as promised.

Yes, little kids in Sunday school sometimes think heaven is where “good” people go when they die, but you and I know that we have to find heaven:

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. Matt 6:33 RSV

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV
...and Jesus says "the kingdom is within you" and " seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." It is not an outward direction (observing with the five senses as an over here or over there), something separate/outside our being, but an inward journey of an entering into (His rest/the gates of the city/the kingdom)...Truth high and lifted up becomes an open door no man can shut. The flip side of the same coin, truth cast down becomes a bottomless pit with serpents that bite.

Wisdom is much different than knowledge though...? Wisdom is about choices...
I would say knowledge is about choices...wisdom is knowing there has always only ever been ONE from the beginning...

The woman in the garden desired this...the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil...and ate of it...

Quite a contrast, the serpent in the garden and the dove... Noah sent out the dove from the ark, and she returned for she found no rest for the sole of her foot...until Jesus's baptism in the Jordan, "the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Blessings are subjective........A Mansion could be a blessing to me....because I can afford the upkeep and maintenance easily, while being a curse for the one that has to work themselves to death to keep and maintain it.....ending in bankruptcy or death for the person working. Riches are subjective as well...and not too many people put as much value on money and material possessions as Christians do. Im saying you can ask for what you desire and there is no standard for what one equates as riches or wealth. Some children are more satisfied with the wrapping than the "gift" inside the box.

To you it is a lie. To me it isnt. These can easily be proven....why try to convince people that God wont give health or supply wants and needs? It profits me nothing to get anyone to believe what I say. I want others to experience and know. But I see no fault in you convincing others of the inabilities of God....and I say continue on, if it gives you joy when you get others to believe that God doesnt promise health. It gives me joy to speak about the goodness of God, and the fact that nothing is impossible for him and the everyone who ask receives. Can we not co-exist?

The bible doesnt condemn the poor either, nor does it try to force or expect them to change their position. The options are there and free to take or not... It is not my job to take away or place judgement on the choices made by those given the free will to make their own choice.

So you believe that those who tell Christians to give generousdly to their church so that God can give back to them, or those who teach that all one has todo is name and claim what one wants and one will get it are teachin Christian truth.

I know, not believe, that if you generously, period, You will receive generously as well. Sow sparingly, reap sparingly. But I disagree that you have to give to a specific person or establishment for this to be true. To test it out....start fostering a love to give...to poor, family, church, school any place.......and you will find yourself always having more to give.

or those who teach that all one has todo is name and claim what one wants and one will get it are teachin Christian truth.
Im not sure I totally understand the "name it and claim it" teaching/doctrine. But I do know that, when you ask God for something, you have to believe that you have already received what you asked for....and then you will receive it. But this is not a Christian truth.......It is more like a law of God.....a truth that is true regardless of your religion. Much like the law of gravity.......it is not like, you are a christian so you will stay grounded, while the hindus and those who smack children, will float into space. Both laws apply to all.

Not sure I agree that wisdom is easy. I take that as YOU GOT IT! Maybe you don't mean it like that lol. The word says "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge". That just the start of it. From what I read and understand.

I am reading about health and wealth. How and what YOU personally believe is what you will receive. The fact/truth is if you don't believe you will not receive. For your saved because you believe have faith in Jesus's words. Its written " But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord."

Not my words.. but God's. So if you believe wealth and health is some false gospel and you are meant to suffer as in HEALTH and are to just make it by or just have enough.. PRAISE GOD! You shall receive just what you believe as it is written. God through Christ can never go against your free will.

Lets not get silly here. Everyone of us can post PROMISES of GOD from the word in the OT and NT. Now we read OLD TEST.. As if what GOD said before Jesus came.. is some how OLD. Gods words are ageless. They can never return to Him void. Some day we MUST believe that HE IS.. and that HE IS a rewarder of those that diligent seek Him. Its not what I say.. or Copland or Graham or the Pope or Wilkerson or ANY mans words that matter. Its what the FATHER says. Do you take HIM at HIS word or what some person tells you what GOD is really saying.

Wisdom...for me is to let go of everything I think I can do have to do must do cant sin will sin what ever. And fully just fall backwards and HOPE haha Gods not in some really funny mood and catches me. Just playing... to just fully trust.. aka FAITH. That He WILL keep His word. Read that word and ask truly ask your self when you read it "CAN GOD JESUS Holy Spirit... LIE? Some day we MUST as I see this.. make this PERSONAL. Some day we, as I see it.. seek Him alone and ask what HE wants for us. What did HE call you to do. you get up.. a.. FATHER what are you thinking about? And your HIS Child. Do YOU if your a father mother LOVE to talk to your kids? AMP THAT. Wisdom? WHO greater to just talk to and PICK so to speak someone's mind but GOD your FATHER!

.
Only in the fact, that Wisdom is the ability to make right choices.
For fools also make choices.
Before the eating in the garden, what were the choices? ...considering God declared all as 'good' that He had made...What changed after eating?

Well, not by torture if you behave yourself.
not by torture

It can be water or fire, God's firewater, anyway, it will or can be torture to those who believe God will torture you if you don't behave yourself or are not "good enough", or whatever performance based, you centered, works based, they believe that they also believe God "punishes" by torture if your not good enough in... They may be making their own reality...

Anyway, God disciplines, yes, but would never torture anyone, have a special place for them in Heaven and certain rewards there, for those who did have to suffer torture for righteousness or God's sake here, but...

God's discipline is gentle, loving, kind, easy, like two different kinds of animal trainers are Satan and God, God is the superior who uses love to subdue, the other hate to dominate... One seeks to break the spirit of the animal, the other does not, but maybe mold and shape it...

But, God usually has to allow us to get broken sometimes in this world, but he did not do it persay... And set things up to lift us back up from brokeness and broken places under the New Covenant with him...

The New Covenant is truly the glorious good news....
