8 I am YHWH: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."

Isaiah 45

5 I am YHWH, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. 7 I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, YHWH, do all these things. 12 It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts. 18 For this is what YHWH says— He who created the heavens, He is God; He who fashioned and made the earth, He founded it; He did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— He says: "I am Yahweh, and there is no other ."

You could have also included the very next verse where it uses the singular rather than the plural pronoun too. "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Genesis 1:27

The way I see it, God like's to participate with His creation and we know He had an audience at that time Job 38:4 and Job 38:7.

I was saving that one for later.

i see it that way too; but it seems that a biased translator altered that verse.

How can you say, We are wise, And the law of Yahweh is with us? Surely, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made a falsehood.

Genesis 1:26,27
God spoke, making man in (our / their) image and likeness; "Let him dominate the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock animals, and all the earth, and every land animal that walks the earth." 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

"Let us" is AIT. It is not in the original scriptures.

There are some 'interesting' views on Gen 1 and the creation of man. One view is that it indicates that G_d created many men and women at that point, and not as in Gen 2 where the man is created first and the woman was created after the man, and everything proceeded from them, as one might expect.

Another view is that G_d addressed the angels, or a holy convocation, when using the words 'Let us...'. But that has implications that G_d did not create without actual help from whomever the word 'us' might refer; that obviously cannot be correct if we see G_d as the sole creator.

On the other hand John tells us that Yeshua created everything, and nothing came into being but that he brought it into being. That might help us, a little, with G_d's 'us' comment in Gen. 1.

I am not necessarily promoting these thoughts - just throwing them in the mix! :)

I have always heard that one explained more along the lines of G-d was talking to the Heavenly hosts as King, much as an earthly king might say "let us decree a new law". The King is decreeing the law, but speaking to the kingdom, speaking for the kingdom.

No he doesn't. That's a faulty inference. Yahweh clearly says that he created everything by himself.

In the Torah, Moses wrote that there were others with YHWH creating with him. Genesis 1:26 Let US.. OUR image. OUR likeness. There are others like him who were with him during creation. Isaiah must be understood through the Torah, and not the other way around.

It's the same way God says that he is the only savior, yet he himself has raised up saviors throughout history. He is ultimately responsible for creation and the source of creation.

Isaiah 43:11 says there is no savior but God

But Then in Nehemiah 9:27 we read that God sent multiple saviors to deliver the Israelites from their enemies

God, by comparison, is the only savior. It's really him that's delivering, even though he uses humans to deliver and save his people.

he wasn't alone in creation(Genesis 1:26), but he is responsible for creation, therefore he truly deserves all credit, even though there were others creating with him. If it wasn't for God, there wouldn't be any others helping him to create in the first place.

Yes, I did read it, but it hasn't been altered, imo. "Let us make" is correct.

You can see the same word used in the plural form many times in the Torah & Prophets here. It's actually used over 30 times in A plural manner, such as we, us etc

Hebrew Concordance: na·‘ă·śeh -- 33 Occurrences

For example, the same word, naaseh, is used in Exodus 19:8 in a plural manner when the Israelites said they would do everything God spoke. they said "all that YHWH has spoken , we will do"

2 Kings 4:10 even uses the same word to say "let us make".

You can see this and the other times it's used similarly in the link above :)

Dr. Michael Heiser has written some books on this. He doesn't think the verse was altered. Instead, he thinks that God was talking to the heavenly convocation. However, God alone did the creating. He likens the episode to one where me and some friends are sitting around and I say, let us have some pizza, and then I am the only one who drives to the restaurant and buys the pizza for everyone. Seems like a reasonable understanding of the passage.

"Israeliets" is plural. "He" is singular. Israelites do. He does. Exodus 19:8 is talking about them.
Genesis 1:27 makes it clear that Genesis 1:26 is talking about Him.

2 Kings 4:10 even uses the same word to say "let us make".

Yet again, if 2 kings 4:10 doesn't make it clear that it's the husband and wife, who will do the making, 2 Kings 4:9 does. They make He makes. In English it shouldn't read, "He make, they makes."

This is basic English. I'm not buying that the translators were only capable of speaking hillbilly ebonics.

Shabbat shalom.
