Blair and Bush promised to pass a second resolution? Riiiiight.

They persued one, but never sent it in for a vote.

exactly my point. They were promising to get a vote on the second resolution, but then they decided to yank it for some reason ...

I said 'modern war'.
you know, air planes with high explosives dropping loads of bombs. Street to street fighting. How many Americans have lived through the Civil War and are alive today? How many Europeans have lived through WWII, and have vowed never to let it happen again?
Have your generation already forgotten the lessons of Vietnam?

How many Europeans? Hmm interesting because Europe is largely supporting the US. Especially the places in and around Yugoslavia :)

Correct, Dec 1941 to Aug 1945 was WWII for us. And as far as I'm aware, we were not arming Axis Powers.

ok... history lesson.

American companies such as General Motors and Ford had factories in Nazi Germany and used Jewish prisoner labour. ITT built bombers for Germany, oil was sold to the Germans and the Spanish, and US invstment increased by 50% in German companies, i think it was 50, maybe less. But the investment in the rest of Europe did not mirror that of Germany.

I even know someone who during WW2 was forced to work for General Motors while being held prisoner, and yes, she is Jewish. She also survived two Nazi Death marches, and a number of other horrific things.

Most of that is pretty common knowledge, but it didn't take place during WWII for us.

However, your statement basically claimed that America was supporting Axis powers during WWII. Instead, a few American companies were opportunistic before war broke out.

and FDR knew about the death camps but refused to enter the war for 'a Jewish reason" Now there was a sneaky man.
SB-- I am sorry for what your family suffered in the Civil War but that was 140 years ago let it go

Umm, I only brought up what happened to my state/family etc because he was trying to say we Americans have never experienced the horrors of war on our own soil.

What?!? What a load of Amero-centric codswallop! World War 2, 1939 - 1945, just because America wasnt 'involved' with troups per se until Pearl Harbour doesnt mean the war hadnt begun. You guys were involved from the beginning because you were selling things to both sides, and your government knew full well what they were doing.

ok. By that logic, the French Revolution did not exist because Australian forces were not involved.

Because it would seem that a fan of Bakunin's would not be so gung-ho for war.

No, I'm the opposite. I find the quote to be an attack on atheism.

Confronted with the existance of God, people would still want to block Him.

No, I'm not suggesting WWII started on Dec 7, I'm saying the war started for us on Dec 7. To say America aided Axis Powers during WWII is a bit of a deception, suggesting that they/we helped out during the whole war. American companies used the opportunities available before America joined WWII.

And yes, the government did know what was going on, that's why sanctons were being placed. It's one of the reasons Japan attacked us.

cool. I can't wait to make a list of the US oil cats which can't wait to get their fat paws off the oil.
But we'll see after the smoke clears.

You mean we'll see when the posion gas and smoke from the oil fires clears....
You are so naive...
