Doesn't refute it just explains it away...

Nobody has denied the holocaust here, whats your point? Their atrocities were worse than ours so ours don't need examining?Interesting.
It WAS war, wasn't it?
And back to what i posted above in post #12.
Re: the speaking of atrocities, there's that:
the holocaust.

I edited my post to reflect my error... over 1 million detained in inhumane conditions and up to 10,000 killed.
Hillbillies didn't own slaves. I know you were hoping to work the word into your reply, but no, they generally disliked the slave owners, had nothing to do with their business life, and were as likely to support the Union forces and oppose secession as the average Yankee did.Probably as ironic as American hillbilly thinking all Germans are Nazis when sitting on the same porch where his ancestor watched his black slaves collecting cotton.
Irony indeed.
It does refute the one million claim. However you corrected such in the previous post and thanks for that.Doesn't refute it just explains it away...
Well he was wrong.Sinclair Lewis in "It Can't Happen Here," (1935) wrote --- When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross.
George Washington was a Nazi?American Nazi rally in Madison Square Gardens in Feb 1939:
Plus could not afford slaves.Hillbillies didn't own slaves. I know you were hoping to work the word into your reply, but no, they generally disliked the slave owners, had nothing to do with their business life, and were as likely to support the Union forces and oppose secession as the average Yankee did.

Why does the atrocity with the most victims win? I can recognize multiple horrors without diminishing from any, how about you? What are you comparing with the holocaust?
It was a matter of priorities for the allies... there was no scrimping on the Marshall Plan.It does refute the one million claim. However you corrected such in the previous post and thanks for that.
The review I posted from Ambrose said the deaths in the camps may have been as high as 56,000. However totally debunks the notion such was intentional. The Allied administration of Germany reduced all rations to military, resident civilians and refugee (from Eastern Europe) to 1500 calories a day.
There was a severe shortage of food stores in Western Europe from 1945 to 1947. Post war estimates were not even close how much the Allies had to provide. They estimated 3 million POWs, but ended up getting 5 million due to German soldiers on the East front leaving their posts to get to the US-British side to avoid being stuck with the Russians. Added to that the huge number of refugees coming from Eastern Germany and other Eastern European nations. The Western Allies ended up trying to feed 13 million more mouths than expected.
I misspoke.... my apologies. Post was edited soon after I put it up.You really can’t even tell you are writing bull when you write 1000000 German soldiers died in camps. That figure is so totally unhistorical it should have at least made you check it up up if you had any clue so rest of your posting will be read through that lens of understanding.

Also, the pivot that you took was quite interesting. From railing against "American bashing" to the next untouchable subject matter, "the holocaust".
Nah...
It's ironic that there's America-bashing-hating and lo and behold the OP is from of all places...
Germany.
This is not the only [ thread that you started with the sole purpose being to bash America.]
Throwing stones at glass houses, eh?
It IS most amusing, however.
I think that IF you do not work here for special services, then you definitely have a psychological complex: you do not answer the questions asked and the only thing that one can hear from you is that ANY criticism of a certain part of the American political elite is perceived by you as an attack on America.
Talking personally about you, then, as it seemed to me, you learn a lot more about our country. Each country has both good and bad in its History. Yes, there is a stain of genocide of Native Americans on America, and the only thing I'm trying to explain is that we do not have the moral right to learn other countries how to live: we killed too many millions of innocent people in our history ...
And why do not you ask about Grandpa of Bush? You, the American "hurray-patriot", are not hurt by the fact the president of the country was a man whose grandfather was a collaborator of the Nazis ???
And ihis is the grandfather of Buch, Jr., whom his mother (unknowingly) called "the first American Jewish president" !!!
we do not have the moral right to learn other countries how to live: we killed too many millions of innocent people in our history ...
It is part of recorded history that has been suppressed by western media. I don't know how revealing the truth of what happened in history is American bashing though. Facts are facts no matter how uncomfortable they make us. There are many more atrocities committed on both sides during the second WW that could be mentioned. In war their are no righteous, only winners and losers and guess who gets to write the narrative?
