I am reading a book of this title by John Burke. It really is so good. Intelligently and informatively constructed, he gathers together many near death experiences and shows how they tally accurately with the Bible. I recommend it, ive got it on my kindle and am learning a lot from this book.
I am not afraid of death, it is the transition from this troubled world and existence to the gloriousness of a new life with Jesus. So much to look forward to! However, i do firmly believe in making the very most of our lives here. Each hour of our lives is precious and meant to be enjoyed and used profitably. To spread the joy of Christ.
I cannot say such things generally in life so am thankful for this forum.
Do read this book if you can. I recommend it as full of hope and wisdom as promised in the word of our Lord.

In my opinion......
little Colton Burpo is playing a role for Messiah Yeshua - Jesus that sets America up for
a time period that Jeremiah wrote about.......

Jeremiah 31:34

"And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

Colton Burpo...a fake and fraud of the highest magnitude...

...a lot of money to be made if you can say that you went to heaven.

I would highly recommend :

But the movie about him was very popular in England......
and it is very important that King David and Samson met with a Christian child during his NDE.... this brings American and Israel closer together.......

Colton reported that there were lots of pets in heaven... and one near death experience in six involves a meeting with a previously deceased pet......

My old church taught a dogmatic version of Soul Sleep... but near death experience accounts proved to me that I had understood the scriptures all wrong.......

Dr. George Ritchie's Near-Death Experience

c. His Experience of the "Receiving Station"

Jesus then takes Ritchie to another realm and is shown a kind of "receiving station" where spirits would arrive in a deep hypnotic sleep because of a particular religious belief they held to be true. Here there were "angels" trying to arouse them and help them realize, "God is truly a God of the living and that they did not have to lie around sleeping until Gabriel or someone came along blowing on a horn." These are the spirits of people who believe they must sleep in their grave until the second coming of Christ (i.e., soul sleep.)

The "Imagine Heaven" book does sound interesting. I haven't read any NDE books, though, because I don't know if they're accurate. Of course, inasmuch as they are true to Scripture I'll believe them, but if you include stories that don't coincide with Scripture it invalidates the whole book (imo). What can you say about "Imagine Heaven" and how it correlates with Scripture?

Since when does popularity become the yardstick by which truth is measured?

We know that Messiah Yeshua - Jesus is opening up massive doors for
the Philadelphia Era of H-s Bride.......... that will result in everybody knowing
G-d from the least to the greatest...........
so a message grabbing the attention of entire nations is implied
in this predicted result:

Hebrews 8:11

"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

"And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest."

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away."

Revelation 3:7

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name."

Colton Burpo and his dad Pastor Todd Burpo have been given a massive open door....... and they were obeying Messiah Yeshua - Jesus to go through that door......... to many nations and to millions of people.

I have not personally read this particular book but I did read My Descent Into Death by former Atheist Howard Storm who gave up his job as an art professor and became a pastor after his NDE.

Here are the verses that verify what Mr. Storm reports:

2Corinthians 12:1 - 4

It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth ; such an one caught up to the third heaven

And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth ;

How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter."

Colton Burpo...a fake and fraud of the highest magnitude...

...a lot of money to be made if you can say that you went to heaven.

I would highly recommend :

Well.... at the 22 minute mark of this video I finally see that the speaker is not himself a Jehovah's Witness... because up until the 22 minute mark..... I was beginning to suspect that he might be.

Jehovah's Witnesses are wonderful people.... I debated the Bible with Mr. Reg Forbes pretty much every month for a few hours while I was a teenager and he certainly got me studying the Bible but..... .although Mr. Forbes was astonishingly well versed in scriptures...... he .... like me at that time.... had a very dogmatic belief in Soul Sleep that makes it impossible for Jehovah's Witness..... .and others affected by that same teaching, which might include our Mr. Peters......... to be unable to believe in anything other than an absolute Soul Sleep doctrine.

Mr. Peters condemns somebody for meeting an angel who uses the name Jehovah........
and even if his scholarship is correct....... if Messiah Yeshua - Jesus is free to answer prayer in the name of Jesus... which is the Greek rather than Hebrew pronunciation of his name..... then why could not an angel use the common name Jehovah?

The speaker is offended....... at the idea of people seeing heaven or parts of heaven....
and is going to dig up anything that he can to prove his case......
or I assume he would be kicked out of his church if he did not.

He already jumped all over Colton Burpo for one statement that seemed quite logical to me..... He condemned Colton for stating that some of his memories of heaven were vivid... but somebody else asked him about the first part of his near death experience.......... and it is possible that certain parts of his near death experience memories... ..might be less vivid......... partly due to the first part of many near death experiences being somewhat scary.

Now I am at the 25 minute mark and he condemns Colton Burpo for stating that some people in heaven have wings........ Colton did not say that all did...... Mr. Peters accuses Colton of adding to scripture but... .not necessarily........

Exodus 25:20

And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be."

Ruth 2:12

The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wingsthou art come to trust.

2Samuel 22:11

"And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind."

Psalms 17:8

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,"

Psa 18:10

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind."

Colton could well be correct about some people or angels in heaven having wings.......
I assume that would mean that they have attained a higher level of wisdom, love, humility
and power.... than somebody else who may not yet have earned their wings.... or made it past the first level of heaven.... that Bob Jones admitted that he preferred................

Now Mr. Peters states that he is offended that Colton is shown that Gabriel now sits at the left hand of the Ancient of Days the Father..........
this should not shock Mr. Peters because he should know that Messiah Yeshua Jesus implied that G-d the Holy Spirit was greater than H-m......... and was being sent to the earth..........
when He went to heaven.........
so if up until then the Holy Spirit had sat at the left hand of the Father...... then it should not be shocking that somebody else..... .why not Gabriel.... would sit on the throne vacated by G-d the Holy Spirit..........

Is this Mr. Peters ignorant of the Trinity?

I was myself for many years while believing in the seriously flawed Soul Sleep Doctrine.........

John 14:16

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;"

John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

John 15:26

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:"

A lot of debate.....which I won't waste my time getting involved with.

2 Tim 2 : 23 - if we all took it seriously - would mean that 99% of posts on forums would never be posted.

"Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels."

Mr. Justin Peters is not very intellectually honest......
or is stuck on certain doctrines like a Jehovah's Witness.... for one example..... if I were you I would not take him too seriously.

I really don't have more time for his video.......

I will leave you with one quotation that eventually you may see fits amazingly well with Revelation chapter 21.......

Dr. George Ritchie's Near-Death Experience

f. His Vision of the Heavenly City

Ritchie is then taken into outer space toward a distant city made of brilliant light - similar in description to the heavenly city in the Book of Revelation (see also Revelation 21:10-27.) This is the place where people go who have become like Jesus while on Earth - a place where love is the dominant focus of life. This is heaven he realizes; but he is not allowed to enter it. Instead, Jesus shows him the future of Earth and is told to return to his physical body. At this point, Ritchie is revived from death.

It seems to me that if anybody who is reaching out to the lost........
has no idea what happens after death......
they will not be very effective in reaching the lost........

Up until 1990... I had really inaccurate ideas on Soul Sleep... .and I am so glad that NDE accounts got me out of that false and rather silly doctrine.......

The author quotes books written by people who experienced near death and heaven, many of which i have read. He also discusses the Bible. I feel it is an intelligent rational look at this subject. I am convinced that some people have seen hwaven and it has changed their lives. I am always reading and cross checking. Seems genuine to me especially where scripture is borne out.

I wonder what these verses mean? Gen. 3:19 "...you are dust and to dust shall you return."
Job 10:9 "...unto dust shall you cause me to return."
Psa. 90:3 "...you cause me to return to dust."
Psa. 146:4 "When their breath departs, they return to the earth.."
Eccl. 12:7 "...and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the breath returns to God who gave it."
Psa. 6:5 "For in death there is no remembrance of Thee;
In Sheol who can give you praise?"
Psa. 115:17 "The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence."

To me it means our bodies are dust upon physical death. Our souls too are dead if we do not believe in Christ. As believers we will overcome death which is always the wages of sin. So we are alive and have eternal life despite apparently dying from this world. But only through Christ.

There is nothing inconsistent in the Bible. No mistakes. Not to me.

Personally.... I have listened to some of Mr. Justin Peters and i believe that in the resurrection Mr. Peters will be the one sorry for having a lack of understanding of the scriptures much like the Saducees in the time of Messiah Yeshua - Jesus..... or myself back in 1988 when i also believed dogmatically in the Soul Sleep Theory that I now am certain was an error.
