It's kind of amazing to me that a couple of pastors have known about this issue (I speak to pastors that I have had a good working relationship with), yet no one would touch this issue with a ten foot pole.

Dare I say that there are some within the church are surprised to hear me say that I feel this way, but years of sucking it in - I know I am supposed to leave this with the Lord.

Well at the church I attended it seemed as though certain people were selected to become teachers in the church, bible study, ministry etc. They went through a special 'discipleship' with the main pastor and if you weren't in that group you didn't teach.

So I just wondered how the main pastor had the gift of discerning who had the gift of teaching and who didn't while simultaneously having the gift of teaching himself. I'm sure he also had the gift of prophecy as well. However the associate pastor I had this discussion with insisted you only have 1 gift to maintain order in the Body.

Yes I am jaded.

I don't get the whole church structure anyway, Christ said:

Matthew 23:8

But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers.

Great question, I'd like to say that not as quickly but you are correct I probably wouldn't have given it another thought until it created a lot of problems.
