Just seen the weather thread, hope, and we don't get those types of temperatures. The things I suggest, which you are probably doing anyway, are close fitting cotton clothing next to the skin and then wool. Several layers also. Keeping the heating on as much as possible. Warm food and drinks, exercise if possible. Is you house well-insulated? It seems as if you need it there. Prayers for you my friend. :prayer:

I don't move the thermostat. When I go outdoors I wear a long sleeved shirt under my coat, a hat, gloves and boots. I only go out to the end of the driveway, get my mail, and come back indoors. When we had an ice storm and lost our power in this house, we spent daylight hours at our daughter's and slept at home with extra covers. On windy days in the spring with no snow I have to wear a sweater indoors. Today the high was 15F, snow outside, and it was cozy warm in here.

When we lived in an old, old house I wore my coat indoors.

My casual winter parka is similar to this one, but I got rid of the hood and wear a hat.

The coldest I've ever been was one Christmas Eve. I had put a frozen meal in the microwave. I went out to the garage to take care of some trash. I turned around to go back in the house, but the door was locked. I knew all the other doors were locked. I was wearing a short sleeve shirt and no coat. So I ran to a neighbor's house. The lights were on but no one came to the door. I was freezing! I ran back home. I think it was an hour and a half or two hours before the family came home. A couple of hours later my skin was still cold to the touch!

Brrrr!!! That doesn't sound fun at all! I don't like being cold. If there's extreme weather I'd choose hot over cold any day of the week. When it's cold bones hurt. :) My fingers especially. We live in the Midwest area of the country (USA) but when I retire hopefully I can talk the wife (boss) into moving someplace with a warmer climate. Perhaps Florida, or somewhere along the Gulf of Mexico coastline. But then, you have to worry about Hurricanes. Oh well, there's always some trade-off in life.

Hi Hope! I live in the South (USA) andI very seldom experience temperatures below zero. When It does get cold enough to wear a coat, I have a goose down ankle length parka that I bought years ago when my daughter lived in Michigan. But I have sweaters, sweatshirts,Jeans and sweat pants, hoods and hoodies for outdoor wear. Like you I like flannel pajamas and flannel sheets on the bed. :)

Last night I slept all night long in my very favorite pajama pants with snowflakes all over them

they are fleece fabric

I hate insulation as it seals the house so tightly, there is no air flow and seems like a tomb!!
