Sorry you feel that way, I always assumed opinions were just...opinions, I had no idea they were worthless or not. You asked my opinion, I gave you my opinion, now I'm told it's worthless, it seems sort of silly to ask/answer if you're the one who gets to decide that. :D
That's what a message board is, a discussion site, not merely an opinion site. It's not me who is deciding, you do the exact same thing also. Do you change your opinion merely because someone says you should? If not then you clearly agree that opinions are worthless without reasoned arguments. You would be changing you opinions dozens of times a day if opinions without arguments had value to you.

...aren't you the one who brought up how, in businesses you worked for, you were told to not use certain phrases? I was commenting the Government isn't a business, so you can't really use a lot of the things you do in business when you're in the government.
I was pointing out it is a very common practice. If it is inherently a deceptive practice then it should be wrong for everyone, not just the Trump administration. They are simply choosing they way in which they want to communicate with people, which is not inherently bad, wrong, or deceptive, and we all have preferred words in our vocabulary, including you. If you can make an argument that the Trump Administration is doing this to try and hide something, like how the FBI was trying to hide Hillary's criminal conduct, then feel free to share.

If I remember right you asked my opinion of what their motivation was,

and my answer was "not campaigning but governing" was something I thought would help. Now you're asking why I brought up campaigning and shouldn't I start another thread about that. It would appear you actually brought it up, not me and I responded to something in a question you asked.
tulc(is drinking some great coffee right now!) ;)
Fair enough. I meant to say Trump Administration, not campaign.

I could change my opinion dozens of times a day, and so could you, that doesn't change the fact that an opinion is still just an opinion. It's not actually right or wrong it's simply an opinion. You don't agree with it? That's fine, it's not your opinion.

That would be your opinion. These guys think differently:
Trump to CDC: These Seven Words Are Now Forbidden
Do you want your medical treatment to be based on science? The Trump administration disagrees. It has now banned the top US public health agency, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), from using seven words or phrases: “vulnerable,” “entitlement,” “diversity,” “transgender,” “fetus,” “evidence-based” and “science-based.”

Prominent public health advocates have expressed outrage. For example, Sandro Galea, an epidemiologist and dean of the Boston University School of Public Health, tweeted “This is astonishing. It would be a parody of a flailing effort to limit the effectiveness of #publichealth if it did not suggest a real problem. #7words.” Rush Holt, CEO of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, stated that “Among the words forbidden to be used in CDC budget documents are ‘evidence-based’ and ‘science-based.’ I suppose one must not think those things either. Here’s a word that’s still allowed: ridiculous.”
I agree with those guys. :)

Fair enough, I only know what you write, not what you meant so I guess we're even!

I have no problem with President Trump disliking those words. I do too.
they're words, what's to like or dislike about them? If he doesn't like them then he shouldn't use them.

Do you not think words are significant? Do you think a human being should be scaled down to "fetus."? Why doesn't he have a right to suggest not using those words in an entity of the government?

A fetus is a stage in the prenatal development of viviparous organisms. In human development, a fetus or foetus is a prenatal human between the embryonic state and birth.
Would you have a problem with someone calling a "child" a child? Or a calling someone who's a teenager some a "teen"? How about calling an adult an "adult"? It's a word, it isn't bad or good, it's simply a word.

I have no problem with someone "making a suggestion" but this? This sounded an awful lot like an order to me. :sorry:

Words like "fetus", "zygote" and "embryo" are legitimate medical terms that describe a potential human person at a certain stage in its development. Killing babies is quite illegal where I live.

Potential is hogwash. Potential would mean that
the baby may become something else than a human
person somewhere along the way as it develops.
If you just mean that the baby could die, then any
person is only potential, as we can die any second.

As for scientific names, they don't change the fact
that children in the womb are just as human and
just as much living beings as people who have been
born.

Words are just words unless you use them to dehumanize others.
Dehumanizing is the first step to extermination.

That doesn't actually change (or even address) what my post said. "Fetus" is no more "dehumanizing" then calling a child a child. It's simply a word that means something. That President Trump and his people are trying to force people to use different words is a blatant example of him playing to his base. :sigh:
tulc(thinks this is pure covfefe) :D

Oh perhaps we could look at it at a strong suggestion instead of an order. But also think about this. Words have meaning, right? Fetus to me sounds like a "something" whereas human being sounds like, well a human being. Words are labels, yes, but some labels are not good ones.

You guys are still talking about this? This story was crap, from the beginning another lie the Trump hating lemmings immediately devoured and piously promoted because their hate has stripped them of their rationality. At least for those in possession of any rationality to begin with.

CDC director says there are ‘no banned words’ at the agency

"U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald on Sunday addressed a report that President Donald Trump’s administration had banned the CDC from using seven words or phrases in next year’s budget documents.

But Fitzgerald said in a series of tweets on Sunday said there are “no banned words,” while emphasizing the agency’s commitment to data-driven science."

CDC chief to staff 'no banned words,' does not refute report
Fitzgerald’s email to staff did not refute the Washington Post’s article reporting that CDC staff had been given a list of seven banned words by CDC budget analysts. The other words on the list were “science-based,” “vulnerable,” “transgender,” and “entitlement.”

She did, however, quote from an HHS statement calling the report “a complete mischaracterization of discussions regarding the budget formulation process.”

And Fitzgerald tweeted on Sunday — pinning the tweet to the top of her feed — that “there are no banned words at CDC.”
sounds a lot like that standard Trump administration "not-quite-a-denial" denial.
