I went to the FCC website, and found a page that addresses some of the issues I read about.

Moreover, we empower the Federal Trade Commission to ensure that consumers and competition are protected. Two years ago, the Title II Order stripped the FTC of its jurisdiction over broadband providers. But today, we are putting our nation’s premier consumer protection cop back on the beat. The FTC will once again have the authority to take action against Internet service providers that engage in anticompetitive, unfair, or deceptive acts.

It's part of the PAI statement.

So, according to the FCC we still have protections against ISP blocking content, etc.

We found out it wasn't the corporations that were stopping them from coming, but some stupid agreement our local government signed.
To be fair, the franchise agreements make some level of sense, especially in more rural areas. It costs a lot to lay down the infrastructure for internet services, and a company isn't going to spend the money doing so unless there's some sort of insurance that they'll get the business. So it's either one provider or no provider. Unfortunately, some local governments/providers took it too far. Verizon, for example, got an agreement to put in FIOS around here. The local government said "sure, but you have to put it EVERYWHERE, not just in certain neighborhoods". So Verizon went and put it in the more profitable neighborhoods first, and then stopped, ignoring the whole city mandate because the penalty was stupidly negligible.

There are other reasons for lack of competition. Prior to Net Neutrality? Those factors were present, and afterwards when the law was put in place? Nothing changed.

Yes, that's true.

However, it's also true that with net neutrality regulations lifted, ISP's can now charge the consumer higher rates for high speed access to certain sights. My point is consumers are already paying to much for their internet and now, the ISP's can stick it to us again.

Exactly Companies are going to screw us hard. Net Neutrality is completely needed capped Bandwidths are there only to milk us harder.

UK doesn't even allow Capped Bandwidths.

Can't wait to pay more for less, all in the name of...what, exactly? What supposed ideal does this serve?

Maybe if this had been framed as 'brown person wants to take your internet', more 'conservatives' (sic) would have been against it.

I do. It seems you don't.
Kimmel and Colbert both did "All you ever wanted to know about Net Neutrality and more" last night, hence the large number of experts today...

From what i understand, internet services would've been another "utility" if Net Neutrality would've passed.

Correct?
Net Neutrality is the principle of treating all traffic equally.

Without the protections it grants, your ISP may block/throttle services you use and charge you extra for them, or not offer any option at all.

I think it's going to be great. Obviously Comcast, the nation's largest IP, will throttle NBC News, maybe offer it as a free service to subscribers, maybe even block out the others. ABC, CBS, CNN and FOX News will all sign on to some other IP and block out the rest. All the fake conservative news sites will get lost in the dust. There's no way they'll be able to afford the enormous costs of getting IP coverage.
