18 years is your legal maximum, for the kids.

I really don't like what that implies, and it's not that simple.

For your husband, you need to change.
You can't force him to. But your attitude in under your control.

I'm not married. I think my attitude is fine.

Again, still not needing advice...

Mentally you have no further PARENTING TO DO. It is a great attitude to take as your kids grow old and have children and are still living in your house. I kid you not.

I wish I could control your response too.
But life is not that way.
Is that more the response you wanted?

I can think of nothing more rude than to knowingly and completely ignore another person's boundaries.

The response I wanted was just some understanding. I just want to know that someone out there on the planet knows how I feel about something.

I'm not discussing parenting priniciples with you because that was not the point of this thread.

I understand your need to vent and I hear you. God bless you and keep up the fight. My daughter is three months old, so Im unsure how teenhood will be! She is teething and gets gas a lot and daddy works thirds while I stay home, so I know about venting. I would prolly use a paddle after an umpteenth number of times of teenage disgust and non listening. But I really don't know. I have a lot to learn. Prayers for strength and wisdom. If you have prayed for patience, God has given you teenage boys. :D

This thread took an unexpected turn. Many teenage boys leave their bathrooms in a disgraceful state, and girls do too. That's nothing to judge a parent for in my opinion.

I lived in an all-girls dorm in college, and the bathroom was cleaned five days a week. By Sunday night it was absolutely disgusting, and I couldn't wait for Monday morning when it would be cleaned. And these were legally adults, 18-22 years old. Sometimes people just don't care, or are lazy or don't have consideration for how their mess affects others. I don't see anything wrong with venting about it.
