Weak to the knees.

Jehovah Witnesses knocked at my door.

They said after pleasantries (its a nice day)

"Do you believe in Angels"

I replied "yes"

I said "Is Jesus, Michael the Arch Angel?"

They said "yes"

I said "no"

They said "you're obviously a passionate person"

I said "yes I am"

We said our goodbyes.

I closed the door and instantly felt weak to the knees.

Why do I feel weak and shaken up?

I love them, I don't want my words to hurt them.

Advise please?

You did nothing wrong. You did everything right, if you ask me. Where does it say in the Bible that Jesus is/was an archangel? It doesn't and they're teaching false doctrine.

You pointed out they're wrong and you weren't rude in doing it.

Those encounters can be a bit unnerving at times. Sounds like you were fine. On a side note, I do worry that Jehovah Witnesses seem to be the only ones going door-to-door.

When I saw it was the JW's, I though the same - handle with apologetics.

I also saw they aren't my enemy (flesh and blood) and I love them.

I felt I was rushing them to the point, by cutting to their core doctrine, when she said "angels" it prompted me to cut to their core doctrine.

To me its the after feeling that make me think something else was going on.

Like I just stood a battle of Faith but at the same time felt so much empathy for them as people.

Its make me a little troubled.

You can pray for them and ask our Heavenly Father to forgive you if you had any unloving thoughts toward them. But I thought you did well.

There's nothing wrong with empathy......it helps when having a discussion with someone of diff'rent beliefs.

Praying with you. He may very well have used this encounter for a purpose that is not seen right now.

You don't have to feel weak for standing on what is right. Yes, you love them but true love means you will hate the error and still love the person and desire his/her to be saved.

Trust me, they left your premises feeling a lot more loved than they would have here... it wouldn't be me that was shaken up.

You did fine. Remember they are real witnesses for what they believe, having had it drilled into them, verbatim.... so much more dedicated than the average true Christian! I stick with just WHOM JESUS IS and don't let them stray. They are taught to follow a direct circuitous path of information and keep moving... if you knock them off their hamster wheel they become quite befuddled and try to get right back on without answering... don't let them...if you get the chance next time... tell them just WHOM JESUS IS and not anything else. Perhaps if we all together keep telling them the same information some one of them will finally hear the Holy Spirit and find Jesus for real!

they aren't allowed in my neighborhood but you see the law of the land they are allowed to disobey... but they generally don't bother my house as I have an American flag displayed 24/7...and they think I'm too far gone pledging allegiance to it than to be able to win me to their side lol
