Historically, the Eastern Roman Empire was called the Byzantine Empire. It's capital city, Constantinople [now Istanbul, Turkey ] was called the "Second Rome." When Muslims overran and destroyed the Christian Byzantine Empire, Christian Russia became Byzantium's heir. The last Byzantine princess married Russia's Tsar Ivan III and brought to Russia with her Byzantium's imperial ivory throne and double-eagle emblem, and Moscow, Russia was called the "Third Rome" for many centuries.

But it wasn't Tsarist Christian Russia... it was the evil satanic antichrist Bolsheviks and their horrific red army [the satanic adversary released from prison in Rev 20] who destroyed Tsarist Christian Russia that connects Russia to global Gog/Magog.

This is very informative sis.And welcome back,we missed you. Someone said in another thread that this is all about blood lines. I don't know much about the current Russian President, but I have wondered how he might be connected to Gog genetically .

Really the only one left out is Turkey ("Togarmah" of Ezek.38:6), and radical Islam has been trying to take over its government and end its alliance with NATO. Both radical Islam and Russia would want that, so that's the final nail in the coffin to be watching for.

While these things in general could be considered a litmus test in regards to how far along things are coming, the Gog/Magog invasion is certainly not the milestone event I would be looking for to set the 7-year tribulation period into motion. The Bible plainly states that when they've proclaimed peace and safety, sudden destruction will come.

Jeremiah 50:41-43 concerns daughter of Babylon.
Jeremiah 6:22-24 concerns daughter of Zion.
Those verses together practically read verbatim with the exception of who they are addressing.

Jeremiah 50:9 expert(English) < "sawkal"(Hebrew) = prudence, which is saying in the context that the prudence is in the arrows. Coincidentally, Russia has coined their new S500 missile defense system "Prometey"(Prometheus) which means "forethought" and is a synonymous term for prudence. The success of this northern nation that comes up against the daughter of Babylon appears to be, in part, dependent upon its "arrows" that do not miss their target. While the S500 is an air defense system, I don't see anything preventing a similar concept being further developed and used for offensive weapons, especially if its intended to negotiate enemy air defenses using AI and make it through to their target. Of course, this is just conjecture and by no means would I support the idea that Scripture is indicating a specific weapon system by name. If anything, it means that the arrows are capable of prudence in order to successfully fulfill their purpose.

I would mainly watch for a whole lot of "stupid", because history shows that stupidity tends to reach a max peak before great military conflicts.

The global Gog/Magog invasion is the LAST human conflict before the second coming of Christ and it is happening NOW.

It is the last because the "camp of the saints" is small and powerless against the ever-growing global evil and destruction and the on-going satanic war of genocide against God's Christ-bearing people. It's not a war in the conventional sense, but the army of darkness is now winning all battles on all fronts.

This is why God Himself intervenes.

Yes agreed. But the sons of God are still sleeping. Some are awake and trying to wake others but there is resistance. Once all of God's children are awake, I think we will see some serious push Some people around me are beginning to wake up, praise The Lord.

I see an analogy between Gog [Prince of Magog] and Pharaoh.

God told Moses to tell Pharaoh to let God's people go... but at the same time, God hardened the heart of pharaoh so he would not let God's people go [Exodus 4:21, Exodus 7:4, Exodus 9:12, Exodus 10:1-2.] Why did God do this? Because it was a special situation that required God to intervene so He could reveal Himself to his people. God was not just liberating his people from Egypt [He could have raised up a human hero to do that.] God's intent and purpose was to form a covenant relationship with His chosen people that God likened to a marriage and bring His bride into His Promised Land... and for that special mission, God revealed Himself and intervened.

Ezekiel 39 tells us that God sent Gog/Magog against His own people because they are living in sinful rebellion against God. Ezekiel 39 also tells us that God uses that situation to intervene, to reveal Himself to His people and the whole earth [Ezekiel 39:21-22.] Christ returns for His bride of the new covenant and brings her the promised home He has made for her, New Jerusalem.

Oh no, I think you misunderstand. The Ezekiel 38-39 events are for the very end of this world, the Hamongog being a result of the battle of Armageddon on the final 7th Vial of Rev.16 when Jesus showed He comes "as a thief". So it actually does agree with Paul in 1 Thess.5 about the "sudden destruction" upon the wicked and deceived, which prophecy originated from the OT prophets like Isaiah 29.
