...which verifies the thought that he is identified with Christian principles in public life, which in turn is something the Left cannot abide.

It's not that some or many legislators are Christian. They are tolerated so long as they keep it quiet. But it is standard practice, in politics, to go after the person who personifies a movement or principle that you, the observer, oppose.

And as we all know liberals oppose Christianity, right?

And they cried out again, “Crucify him.” ~ Mark 15:13

Perhaps he should read his monuments he keeps trying to put up.
I'm going to guess that he and his supporters have read the commandment on that monument which says not to bear false witness against anyone, and that it has something to do with why they have not yielded to accusers who either have no real claim against him, are motivated by revenge for some decision he handed down in court that went against them, were paid and coached by vehemently anti-Trump activists, or produced "evidence" that they falsified.

Had he admitted to what was said against him (as Al Franken did prior to his non-resignation speech the other day), this would all be different.

And do not for a moment think that the Democrats did not arrange to have Moore as their opponent since they chose to reveal the accusations at a particular time--just days AFTER the deadline for the Republican Party to change nominees.

The Democrats, who are now acting soooo very pious, wanted Moore to be the candidate, not the opposite as they hope you will believe.

So all 9 of them, their thirty corroborating witnesses, former co-workers, and decorated police officers are all bearing false witness against him?

Judge Roy Moore: When You Believe in and Acknowledge God, You’re Painted as a ‘Polarizing Figure’

When Britt began by referring to the former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court as a “polarizing figure,” Judge Moore’s answer was epic:

“You are a polarizing figure — that’s a given,” Britt began before Moore jumped on the statement.

“Well, when you believe in God and acknowledge God, that automatically points to a difference with some in our society,” Moore asserted. “And it paints you as a polarizing figure because you believe in what this country is founded upon.”

Do you believe what Moore is saying here?

Most of the accusations are that he dated or just went out with or flirted with girls in their late teens, forty or so years ago. That is not a crime. And the leading accuser admitted to falsifying her so-called evidence.

So there are only a couple that amount to anything, and they have produced nothing at all to substantiate their accusations. Meanwhile, quite a few people in a position to know have refuted claims that were supposed, by the media, to have given the accusers "credibility."

In short, vote against Moore if you think that "Where there is smoke, there's fire." But don't act as though those who say smoke is not enough without some fire can't vote the other way with equal reason. And remember that a whole soccer team at Duke had their lives ruined when they were falsely accused, and a fraternity was punished wrongfully at UVa simply because a woman said she was raped and she had to be believed regardless, even after her claims were shown to be false.

Thus comparing him to Jesus.

Not necessarily -- only the worship is the same, regardless of whether or not the object is deserving of such worship. Nobody is claiming Moore deserves the support, as Jesus did.

And I suspect that should Moore run afoul of the Mighty Donald (which he will eventually), Moore's worshipers will turn on him even faster than Jesus' did...

Not true at all.
