Psalms 16
1 Keep me safe, my God, for in You I take refuge. 2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.” 3 I say of the holy people who are in the land, “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.” 4 Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. 5 LORD, You alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. 7 I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night, my heart instructs me. 8 I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10 because You will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will You let your faithful one see decay. 11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts........”
Colossians 3:15...peace, the umpire and ruling principle

The word “rule” used in our text comes from the Greek word, “brabeuo”, meaning TO ACT AS JUDGE OR PRESIDENT. Let PEACE be the ruling principle to decide and settle with finality all arising issues. We give three other translations to help bear out the scope of meaning:
“Let the ruling principle in your hearts be Christ’s peace, for in becoming members of one body you have been called under its sway. (Goodspeed).

“Let the peace which Christ gives settle all questionings in your hearts....(Weymouth).

“(act as umpire continually) in your hearts - deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds - , …” (Amplified).

2 Peter 1:12
Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

Present truth; in other words as the truth is revealed you move with it. When a truth is reveled to you receive it and walk not with mans traditions; but what the spirit of truth reveals. Something’s are beyond what the human mind can receive; that is why God sent His spirit to lead and guide us in all truth. The anointing or the Christ is with in you; if you against the anointing; you are anti Christ.

That is why the New wine is better than the old. God's revelation is not dead in this age but alive to those who have ears to hear. Wine speaks of revelation; many approach to God word is like grape juice; you try to pasteurize out all of its divinity.

I really believe God’s Word is divine and deep things of God also the very hidden from the natural carnal religious understanding.

According to Webster the words lees and dregs are defined as follows: lees Pronunciation: 'lEz, Function: noun plural Etymology: Middle English lie, from Anglo-French, from Medieval Latin lia: the sediment of a liquor (as wine) during fermentation and aging. These two words are mentioned six times in scripture.

Zephaniah 1:12
And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil. Jeremiah 48:11, Isaiah 25:6

Isaiah 51:17
Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.

Wine is very important symbolically, wine was at the wedding feast when Jesus changed the water into wine. He said the new wine is better then the old. The new wine does not fit in old wine skins and the list goes on.

Why would not the new wine fit in the old wine skin; you believe it was grape juice. Grape juice is pasteurized and is so sable a drink it would have mo problem fitting into any vessel.

But wine is a potent drink; one that ferments, its alive more then any beverage I know of.

For this reason wine has to to moved from one vessel to another because of its nature keeps changing. This is why our savior used wine as an example not grape juice. If you are ant drinking; awesome. But please make your walk in God as a walk in the new wine of the spirit not grape juice.

I am not a wine maker and know very little on this subject. But God’s Word is deep and there are so many awesome morsels of truth; but no we have our ideas of God or lees and dregs and there is no room for His revelation; His new wine.

This morning, a verse came to mind, it's the one where God is the Lifter of our heads, when they are downcast.

That, to me, is the epitome of Who our God is.

That is why He is so precious to me (at least partly...there's so many other reasons too).
